    These performance was presented by Filipino student immigrants from University of California Los Angeles. Every year their social club always makes some kind of performance for Pilipino Cultural Night where they share Philippine culture to their fellow students and for those who miss their country.

    We had this when I was in high school. The timing is about the beat from the bamboo and lots of practice. Literally LOTS OF PRACTICE! But what they did is sooooo impressive. It takes a lot of time to master the beat... blindfolded. Kudos to all of them! 👏👏👏

    • @mariobenedicto3582
      @mariobenedicto3582 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pinoy here... it's really not that difficult; They always have only ONE foot inside the pole and the beat is 1-2-3. All you gotta do is raise your foot on 3.
      Once though my classmates have done an advanced version... bamboo poles on the ground AND in the air, at head-level!
      So not only raise your foot at the right time but DUCK AS WELL!

    tinikling is so much fun! we did it for a competition back during high school :D
    there was also another tradotional dance we did "Sayaw sa Bangko" where we stacked benches on top of each other and dance on top of them. I recommend you checking out a Sayaw sa Bangko performance! 😁

    I think this is the Philippine Traditional/Folk Dance that is the most famous globally. This is being taught as well in (some) American schools. Even some folk songs of the Philippines.
    Tinikling is a dance inspired from the Tikling Bird.

    The one showed in Alamat's music video was actually not tinikling, but singkil. Tinikling is from the northern part of the Philippines while singkil is from the Muslim part of the country

    The Ami Tribe, one of many aborigine tribes of Taiwan also has a Bamboo dance like the Filipino Tinikling Bamboo dance. Indonesia, Malaysia & Thailand also have their own version of this bamboo dance. I think it originated from the Austronesian group of Aborigines all the way from Taiwan.
