My goodness guy! What a tremendous job you did! I got a question though... how do you align that focussing threat. That helicoil has something like 9 threats. How do you know you have the right one?
@@fretlessfenderAt infinity, the inner helicoid should be flush with the outer helicoid. The infinity lock lever will also only engage if it’s aligned properly. To align the focusing gears, it is useful to make a two small scribe marks on the gear and the body so that they can be realigned when the mount is put back into the camera. Hope this helps!
Hello, thx for the info video on your refurbish work. Certainly looks great when done. Going to ask here, in case you would be ok to answer. I got a Contax ii about 1mth ago, but it is a lemon, and I opened it out of frustration, not fully aware of their complexity. Turns out a ribbon was broken. Reattached it but all tension seems lost. I now got some new one to try. Do I need to put some turns on the springs in the bottom shutter drum? And worst, I think the winder is not transferring power to move the blinds anymore, blocks after a short wind. The winder mech in itself seems quite a job, do you have any indications for me please, with winder and blinds tension ?! Thx for anything you are willing to say.
