There in 78 still @ 🌊🌊 I come from Gravesend and remember the old Peanut School on the promenade. You can imagine what my mates said when I told them I was going to the peanut school. 🥴🤞🙈🙈🙈. Those old Davits are still down by the pier. Only things left of the olds sea school 😢

Mr Gillette...in his late 50s...taking us for sea survival in the unheated pool...yep it was frigging freezing.
Was there in late 1965. March 66 first trip to sea as Deck boy on the shell Tanker Horomya, the Vietnam run for one year. The good old days ❤
It's a long, long time since I was at the Gravesend Sea School. Back in the mid nineteen-thirties!
Yep , class x 1953, happy days , my first ship after Gravesend was SS Tregenna ,Hain Steamship company for a tramp round the world …I see the old davits are still in place but the rest has changed beyond recognition.

i was there 1970
There in November 1960. Freezing cold, the glass was missing in the windows.
On leaving,signed on at the Manchester pool. Next day joined the Pampas, Royal Mail.
Did twelve years. Half on cargo boats, half on liner's. Saw much of
the world.
Great times and days.
Was there in 1971, an excellent place and a ship waiting for me on my 15th birthday.
There in Jan 62 then straight to the Argentina Star in dry dock for two weeks.That winter was bitter.But good memories.
