Thank you Mr Carl Carlton for this beautiful song. I remember hearing it back in 1974, when I was only a child. It always reminds me of the Everlasting Love I have for my father. In Nov. 1973, my father passed away. I was only 5yrs old. I can still remember that day, since my life was forever changed. Only a few days ago, I found your song on YT. Today is my father's birthday and I am playing "Everlasting Love" continously. Thank you for all your great songs. May God Bless you always.... Debbie
There is only ONE version of this song worth listening to: THIS ONE! It is the first, the best, and the everlasting version. Thank you, Mr. Carlton. Great performance. Thanks much for the upload.
I'd say you're sadly mistaken. Not only is it not the first version, but there were several versions before Carl Carlton recorded it. But his is the best version, in my opinion.
When I want to hear this beautiful song, I only want to hear Carl Carlton sing it. This song brings back beautiful memories of a love that was taken in my teens. Thank you Carl for the song.
I wish there was any song written in the last 30 years that was worth remembering, let alone buying. Music today isn't even worth turning on the radio to listen to! We have to search TH-cam to find it.
sjds51 ... yu aint lying bro ,it seems planet earth run out of great musicians nowadays, its freaking sucks,,, that's why I go to TH-cam every day too, the bad thing is when TH-cam started charging for fee, to used it ,thats going to suck,,, were surrounded by greedy mofos.....🙄😤
He was discovered singing on a street corner. A record producer after being in a studio all night yelled at some kids to turn the radio down and it was Carl singing!!
CARL CARLSON...EVERLASTING LOVE. ...ALIVE PBS. SPECIAL EDITION TV SHOW...AFTER YEARS..HIS VOICE AND DANCING. INCREDIBLE..AND HIS SONG STILL HERE...MUSIC THAT NEVER DIE...REALLY. LOVE IT
I posted a comment a year ago and I still can't get over how fine and strong a voice this man has! The lyrics make you believe a lasting love is possible!
I have this pbs special on dvd I love it, my mother has seen Carl live many times here in michigan he did alot of performances in Inkster at the StarDust I do believe.
Amen to that!!!!!!!, sjds 51. Radio nowadays just puts new school on repeat and not even once turns back the dial to some old school. Such a shame that most of us have to use TH-cam as a source for enjoying old school music. It just doesn't get any better than that.
That sounds like an amazing concert. I wish they would have something like that where I am. It's rare enough to hear one of these great artists, but to get all those famous artists in one place is quite a treat.
Oh mama (bad mamma jama, that is), growing up in the early 90s was great n all but hell, I can only imagine how incredible it would've been to grow up around the amazing Motown era.
I was 13yrs old when I first heard and loved this tune it's 2015 and I'm really still loving this tune just do the maths happy happy days thankyou carl xxx
Carl here epitomizes the energy that is soul music. He picks up, takes us on a thrill ride and drops us off at our front door. Not everybody can do that.
He managed to recreate all the power and glory of the song, and so many years later. his will always be the best version of this song. doesn't matter who else did it and it almost doesn't matter who wrote it. almost.
Wonderful. Doesn't he still sound so good. I'm an old female geezer - wait until some of you are - you will still like the music you loved when younger. Taste of music stays with you all your life - it doesn't matter how old you are.
Thanks so much for posting this, regalgs51. It's the first time I've seen it. Everlasting Love has been recorded many times since Robert Knight's original but I agree with you: Carl Carlton's is by far the most inspired.
But it is available on the Didn't It Blow Your Mind Vol. 13 Soul music series, thanks to Rhino Records. Just bought it today. It is a highly recommended collection (vol. 1-20) with many hard to find tracks.
Tenstarsplus !!! This guy is pretty good but I've never heard of Carl Carlton before, and he can't hold a candle to Robert Knight, who has the best version of this great song!!!! It just shows that each singer has his own style and interpretation of a song!!! Thank you for posting this video!!!!

My dad passed away 22 yrs ago and I miss him very much, prayers for you, I know you you feel, this is a beautiful song ❤
Yes, es adictiva esa canción. Saludos desde México
This isn't a song it's an anthem!

Where is this version from?
@@Superbowler08lmao. It's the original 😅😅
Love Affair is far the best
I'd say you're sadly mistaken. Not only is it not the first version, but there were several versions before Carl Carlton recorded it. But his is the best version, in my opinion.
@@magneto7930Correct! Robert Knight sang this first in 1967

Lisa Hollingsworth you the best
When I want to hear this beautiful song, I only want to hear Carl Carlton sing it. This song brings back beautiful memories of a love that was taken in my teens. Thank you Carl for the song.
So amazing just how the power of great music brings so many people together toward a positive!
Don Darnell that's whats wrong with today's youth. They don't have any great musicians
I remember this song played @ a wedding in 1976. It brought the house down just like Carl did in this video. He has a unique voice. Old school rules.
The man can still sing .... I LOVE this song, always have!

I couldn't agree more. I lost interest in the pops around 1970-61 when they were already sliding into mere noise.
What makes this clip work is the unbridled enthusiasm of the audience. I think that's what drives Carl to new heights in this performance.
just one word GOLD!
i was 17 when this one was crashing thru everybody's radios....
so easy to love this original
Robert Knight actually had the original on this but I agree Carl had the best version.
EH youre absolutely right.

LOVE IT
It doesn't get anymore emotional than this. Awesome.
This video is so uplifting. The sight of the audience enjoying themselves from the heart always makes me feel good. Thanks for posting.
I posted a comment a year ago and I still can't get over how fine and strong a voice this man has! The lyrics make you believe a lasting love is possible!
Carl owns this song, pure and simple!!
Heard this song in 2 different stores today...forgot how much I love it.

This was a one hit wonder, but is the greatest. Surprised he didn't have others.
This is beautiful.
He managed to recreate all the power and glory of the song, and so many years later. his will always be the best version of this song. doesn't matter who else did it and it almost doesn't matter who wrote it. almost.

He's got a new tune called "God Is Good" coming out on CTU Records next month that's really hittin'.
I was thinking it has to be a gift from God to have just as good if not a better voice. Strong and beautiful, great song and performance.
Another song that gives me goose bumps!!!

The sad part is that Carl Carlton's version isn't on ITunes. I love this song so much and his version is the best.
