  • In today's video, I'm briefly discussing the first weekend of my National D-License Coaching course out here in SoCal. We're looking at the general layout of what we did throughout the whole weekend and talking about my moment of heartbreak and made me want to quit!
I will be documenting my entire D-License, throughout the Develomental Period all the way up to the second weekend in May.
Have a great rest of your week and remember --- Wash your hands, avoid super large crowds and stay safe and healthy!!!

I like that you're completely honest. Great to see the videos before this and now after your experience. Keep moving forward.
I want to start coaching in 2021- looking for opportunities, and then I want to go for the D License after some experience. I really appreciate your insights.

Your young man, most of the pro coaches you see are old so you have a lot of growing to do which might take years just like some of the greats! Just keep working and remember your goals!!

Appreciate the support! Its a long career ahead. It's always the hardest as a young coach to get overwhelmed by the negativity and downs that come with being a new coach!

I just started my journey in getting my coaching license and your experience was very similar to mine! I felt so small out there.

Hardest thing is to start! There's a lot of coaches with similiar starts. Only way from here is up with more and more opportunities as you gain experience!!! Wish you all the best in your career!!!

Ben, if you are going to pursue national level licenses, I suggest you volunteer to coach an adult league team. This will help you establish a solid comfort zone. In my experience with national level education, I had to work with ex-collegiate level players and ex-B level internationals. Imagine the level of stress that might exert on you. However, you just need to be assertive and go with the flow. Another possible learnig track is the NSCAA as it is geared more towards coaching education than licensing.

Appreciate it! Try your best to learn the kids names first, it’ll show the extra effort. Use some of the terminology that they teach. Don’t try to over coach - look for natural moments to pause and coach vs yelling freeze to make a moment. Lastly, be yourself and express your own coaching styles.

Haha they did. I believe in the moment I took it more personal because I was one of the few who were critiqued like that. In hindsight it wasn’t so bad but the nerves got the better of me. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
