"it rides pretty well to some people even describe it as floaty. i dont know what they are smoking" lmfao made me crack up when he saud that
@Juice88 you can get little convex mirrors and stick them on the end of the side mirror to see blind spots.
Love my 2010 RT and love the interior...simple the way it used to be with compliments all the time.
That exact car is sitting in my garage, can't wait until tomorrow going for a drive!
I got one. Runs 12.8 in the quarter mile. Finally a car review from a guy who knows what he's talking about.
this guy makes a hell of an auto review.
If it came down to it I'd get a Mustang, but holy crap the Challenger is sexy.
Bland interior? bah, I prefer simple. I hate it when shit is too busy.
Have loved the Dodge Challenger since seeing it way back in the film "Vanishing Point". Wish they were available in Australia.
Great car and video. Way to go Dodge.......I test drove one and fell in love with it. To me it's not just a numbers game, 0-60 times, HP, axle ratios, styling, its the experience once you get behind the wheel. My son has a 2009 Mustang, nice car, but not the same. The same thing when I take my '68 Charger R/T for a spin, it's an experience in itself, just like the new Challengers, nothing else comes close.
Great Video! Very well written and produced!
man i wish i was 3 years older that sounds AWSOME dodge rocks one things for shure id hate to line up next to that in a drag race
i cried tears of joy when i watch this oh hell i'm about to do it again
im getting an srt8 after basic training and AIT! cant wait!
I have one of these RT's in dark red with cloth and the auto. I test drove the mustang and the camero. For me the winning factor was comfort. The challenger "felt" heavier and safer, rode better and has much more room. You would rather have this car for long, all day driving trips regardless of what company you usually go with.
2:15 best sound ever
this car is HUGE! awesome.
I test drove the Challenger 2010
The C pillars make me nervous when changing lanes and reversing but im planning to put a camera back there.
Changing lanes are mostly a guess at best.
i like that color it fits it. Ive seen alot of light blue ones were i live, they look alright but i would rather get this color.
how come old people dont suggest this car for teens? i plan to get this as my first car and i dont plan on driving fast either. i just want it for the looks not speed.
the steering wheel controls are a sound package option, broseph.
I am in love with that car.
mad dads getting it this week
GREAT review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great and fun review. I want one!
"Don't cost no fortune"? Oh, yes, it does! This test car is the exact one I want (white r/t with Hemi, 6-speed manual and sunroof) and it costs 35,000 dollars.
trust me... if yer gonna get one, go 4 the RT. that HEMI is pure luvv
i love all dodge car
but my favorite car is dodge charger
& this is awesome
I can't wait until I get mine ina few months :)
Excellent & Sharp!!
that car sounds so nice
''i dont know what they smoking'' hahahah
I love the Challenger more then any other muscle car on the market today. It maintains the most original styling, its just plain beautiful. However in order to compete Dodge seriously has to move up their mpg or at least give the Challenger its own interior styling list chevy did with their camaro.
The back seat is the biggest surprise of this car. I'm 5'11"/340lbs. and I can ride comfortably in the back seat behind my brother-in-law of similar height. Getting in and out isn't that bad either. The rear seats in the Mustang and Camaro are useless.
I love the Challenger....
My Dreamcar :-)
Nice to see a good review, most car reviews are monitarily atached to GM or Chevy due to advertising. I even heard one call the pistol grip "silly". I was thinking, and you call yourself a casr guy?
This car is this much fun and more so. The Camaro may have more HP but this car does not need to compete HP wise, or with any numbers. People who argue to no end about such things are missing the point of this car. It's an experience. Plus you never seen 4200 lbs move like this!
The Dodge Challenger can't be to bad on the road.. The Dallas Police Dept are using them. They Make Awesome Police Cruisers
I know. But there are mods to make them force feed to the intake alone.
"i'm so bad, but this car is so good"
I got one as my grad gift its very nice:D
my dad has this car. but in orange. ;D its awesome
@The6000Sabre THe SRT has that, it's usually about 10 grand more too.
@6UNLEASHED Of the 3 cars I like the Challenger the best for the styling In my opinion it's the best looking car you can get for it's price under, and I agree they can do some improvements like dropping the weight down under 3,800, I said the Mustang's V8 is 430 but from what I know the block and maybe the heads are aluminum, I don't know too much about the Challenger RT's V8, like what it's made of but I would be interested to know it's weight if the head and block were aluminum.
Great Review!! =]
i love the way the challenger looks. but it is lacking the get up and go. I just out ran a r/t in my g8 gt..the guy was shocked and we even stopped and talked for about ten min.
@BurningFliesAlive i just came back from the dealer i'm 6.3 and to be honest this was the only time i rode a coupe' and felt comfortable in the back.
i bought gran turismo 5 and have this car in black up to 550HP i see them and i love them...the one i want is 45 grand in USA...
I am a mustang driver....and I love it...
Challenger is very impressive tho...I love this car too...It looks really cool outside, and somehow these videos don't do a favor because challenger looks much better when you see one on the street. I prefer challenger over a camaro any time..camaro is too busy on the exterior..like pontiac solstice...camaro is not impressive at all...
I have the exact car! I love it, and if you baby it on the highway i have gotten 25 to 28 mpg on the highway! no shit...
very nice review! xxxxxxccclent car
so was that an srt8 cause i thought this was an rt. but it looks real nice still
@TheSilverkbm Thats 160 MPH...in U.S we don't use metric units
LOL, making a fool of the other reviewers saying " they think the car is like floating, don't know what their smoking, it solid."
Awesome. !
Yessa, is very nicee. !
Challenger got cool decals...i wish my scion xb got cool decals
I have a hard time believing anyone ever thought a Challenger was a "fancy I-tallion jobby."
i love challengers
There are some police in FL as well
Does the r/t take anything besides premium?
nice ride .. i will like to buy 1 .
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMFG!!!!!!! I WANT ONE SOOOOOOOO BAD!!!!! I SWEAR ON MY LIFE IM GETTING ONE SOME POINT IN LIFE!!!! I SWEAR TO GOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ttaylormm The challenger is already the heaviest out of the current 3 muscle cars and adding an all wheel drive system will further compound the already disadvantaged weight difference.
Hooooo-yeah!!! Fucking sweeeeet!!!
Im buying mustang because the dodge challenger interior is so ugh with all do respect they did a good job on the exterior
I had a 67 Camaro in high School and I loved it. But I don't get these modern retro models today just as I don't think the new Mini Coopers are any better than Honda Civics Type R's, Golf GTi's or Audi A3's. I think retro models are not worth it. Either drive the original or buy a modern car.
Here in Brazil we´d pay US$120,000 for this car. The minimal wage is US$3.5/hour.
I would like to understand why is kind of difficult for an American to buy a car like those (Mustang,Camaro,Challenger, etc.) Considering buying power for an American to buy a Challenger would be the same that a Brazilian pays for a Toyota Corolla here for exemple. I also wonder why someone would pay US$500.000 for a Mustang Fastback (Ebay Motors´s auction -Troy Trepannier) =10brand new different color Mustangs
@OTL93 not sure still tryin to figure that out lol
the front interior is the same that on my mom's dodge charger r/t.
i have an r/t and i go to the gas station every two weeks..... this car can easily get around 25-30 mpg on the highway
If you want muscle car that also looks like one, this is the ONLY way to go!
my friend had an infini running on premium fuel and it was a gas guzzler...this challenger is nice but more a weekend car than a commuter car
Does the Challenger have HID headlights?
guys, how is the quality on these cars?
@crazytime666 I absolutely love your comment..lol..I feel you though :)
@johnthetrevor that is true.
for a 5.7 that is not that much horsepower... it it detuned for economy?
Voice of narrator here is the same as Shepherd in Mass Effect or I'm wrong?
Here in chile we pay US$40000 for a r/t, 60000 fr a srt, and 54000 fr a camaro ss. I would be happy to have your prizes here (Y)
is the mpg that bad?
getting mine in december but 2012 version
i love my car
@MrXphatman
yeah, and a 1.3 litre inline 4 in a hayabusa can produce up to 500hp with enough tuning...c'mon man don't be a troll, besides, pit the challenger, caterham, and hayabusa all in head-on collisions and see which one fares best.
>.>
375 horses sandes grate. i love american museul cars
THEY THEN SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON WHY IT LOSES. NEEDS TO LIGHTEN THE WEIGHT. IT A BEAUTY OF A DESIGN BUT NEEDS MORE COLOR OPTION, INTERIOR SELECTIONS
Verdadeiro mescla car
Insurance on this thing must be huge, and the high end models are like minimum $50,000. I agree if the fuel efficiency was slightly improved (My 1993 pontiac bonneville gets more milage than this), I would might get it. The interior does look quite bland on that particular model, but the ones i've seen in person have bene not to bad. But still extremely bland for something you'd expect looking at the outside of the car. I'd never buy it unless it was the SRT-8 model.
3...4............5!
g8's are great but still liked the GTO better
@MANDINGO19921 I used to say that too...that is until my brother gave me a ride in his 2010 r/t......now I'm not so sure anymore.
@infernoJr just because other cars perform better on paper doesnt always make them the better buy. there has to be that emotional connection to the car, and for me that was only seen with the challenger. i have no problem saying the new mustang or SS SHOULD be faster, however out in the real world not everyone can drive and these cars are all close enough in acceleration numbers that if someone in a "better vehicle in all aspects" misses a shift or cant launch right, my "inferior" R/T will win
@6UNLEASHED Power divided by displacement is a meaningless measurement. A more important number would be power divided by engine weight. A smaller displacement engine isn't automatically going to be physically smaller or lighter than a larger displacement engine. For example the engine from the Zo6 Corvette and BMW M5, the Z06 V8 weighs less than the V10, makes similar power and a hell of a lot more torque. Numbers I got for the Challenger is 485 lbs and 430 lbs for the Mustang.
All wheel drive in a muscle car? Why not put a turbo four in there while your at it?
Fuck yeah I love my challenger!!! Though I wish it was a v8 but with the economy now adays as is high. That's why I chose the v6 which I still kinda regret... Then again I'm not gonna be racing.... Or will I? :)
@The6000Sabre Yeah...
A muscle car that GEEKS love? Blasphemous! Think I'll hold out for the SRT10.
Drive a Porche and you have to pay lots more cash, but you get more car. And more power to weight. The TBR can outcorner the Challenger completely and, I won't even talk about the japnese sport vehicles. [coughs... Miata MX-5....closed course...cough cough...]
@dobadriver Oh look someone brought in a car for comparison. A car that costs just over $65,000 more than the Challenger.
is it wrong that i am 20 and drive this car?
@OI8APC2 0-60 in 5 seconds and low 13 second quarter mile runs for a 4000lb car...how is that not a muscle car?
My favorite part of the new Challenger how non car nuts call it the Charger. LOL!
