Even the smallest reference towards an explosive device or destroying a building was made to be removed. They were even cautious on even having the Green Goblin in the film. The films success made a great impact for helping Americans to confront adversity at its greatest peak and have hope again.

MCU took the blueprint on how to make a good well recieved superhero film from Raimi SM, Raimi’s SM looked at the first X-Men film to see if live action superhero films would translate well to the 00’s, and X-Men looked to Blade to see if their was any money to be made in the superhero genre itself. All in all, everyone got help from someone.
Blade was a mild success that opened opportunities, X-Men showed they could be profitable and successful, the Raimi Spider-Man films surpassed everything and began the 2000's leap towards comic book films

Willem Dafoe is without a doubt the best part of this movie. He’s so much fun and so quotable. Spider-Man 2 is a better movie, but Spider-Man is just so much more fun for me.
One of the greatest pieces of advice I ever got for enjoying movies is, when watching a certain type of movie, assume that kind of subject matter isn't in the fiction of that universe. For zombie movies, assume there are no movies/comics/shows about zombies in that universe. For Vampire movies, assume there are no movies/comics/shows about vampires in that universe. For superheroes, assume there are no movies/comics/shows about superheroes in that universe. This not only solves a SHITLOAD of plotholes, but makes characters more understandable.
