I just picked up my first Protech runs 5. Excellent quality and they’re using a super steel.
Just wanted to toot Protech's horn here for a second. I just ordered one of these with an acid washed blade and came back to this video to see how much the price has increased in almost 3 years (if you can believe it) much to my surprise it has only gone up 5 bucks to 230 and that very well may just be to cover the acid washing! Great job on not caving to massive price increases on this model at least Protech!
I have this knife and love it. My husband got it for me. Small enough for my purse or jean pocket (and we know women's pockets aren't the same as men's)!
Great knife for a woman's smaller hand.
Speaking of autos...I just allegedly got a Microtech Ultratech!!! Allegedly my first real auto!!! Omg, it's soooo much better than that cheapo auto I allegedly got 2 months ago! Like...wayyyy better!
You sound so much like nutnfancy on YT. You express yourself well. I like the way you give info in an unbiased fashion. I really like the TR3 Pro Tech I got recently.
Protech PLEASE make a manual version, like the Malibu. Garage the flipper in the guard and pop on some thumb studs. Rename it the Fidget Monster 5000!

I have a 2013 protech rockeye 3 of 5 in Damascus with a sterling silver skull on the show side and a lanyard skull from the Vegas show ..great knife
I have this but with the smoke gray blade finish and in cpm-d2, is this comparable to the s35vn?

Protech shows that Newport they have that a lady had a house fire and the house burned down and the Newport work like it was brand new it was burnt but still hit hard..

something I've always wondered about autos is the lockup secure ? is it internally like a frame lock or more like an axis or something else ?
It's kind of a "piston" that sets into place on a carved out area of the blade tang. Ive honestly never had an issue with it 👍

I have the tr4 with feathered scales. I don't know if the rockeye could beat it but I want one just the same.

@@khris6278 Congratulatios! I've mentally given up on the malibu. If they release more and I can get one, then fine. But I'm tired of getting notifications that its available only to find them gone already. I have a mordax and prefer its size over the malibu so at least I can experience the Protech button lock fidget joy.
Got a TR5 recently and I love it..... spring broke a few months ago but I sent it into Protech and it’s good as new
