2016 Victorian Kart Championship Round 1 Port Melbourne KA4 Junior Heavy

2016 VKS Round 1 Highlights - Go Kart Club of Victoria - KA4 Junior Heavy!
Heat 1: Had an alright start, had a battle for a few laps but Ben was simply faster and went on to take the win.
Heat 2: Ben nudged me off a bit onto the marbles and just drove off the track. Drove from last to 2nd and had alright pace too.
Heat 3: I settled for 3rd on the start but 4th drove over me and nearly knocked the GoPro off, so I had to drive through the field yet again but was 2 tenths quicker than anyone.
Final: Had a great start, took the lead, made a gap but then Ben found some pace as I expected and closed the gap. We battled for about 5 laps but I made a move and went on to win.
It was a really good weekend, both on and off the track. Many thanks to James Sera, Caleb Williams and Josh Brooker for their help throughout the weekend, Adam Macrow for an amazing engine, Steve Gawne for the driver training, all my friends and family for their support especially Adam and Riley for coming down and watching on Sunday and all the competitors, especially Ben, for the good racing!
Looking forward to Round 2 and maybe we can take the lead of the championship!
