    Excellent video my garage has been billing me for years on pollen filter changed just watching I changed mine opened it found only 1 and it was black not even grey so I'm thinking that they've never changed it since I got the car 12 years ago

    Thank you Paul - I really appreciate that you've taken the time to make this and it will help me so much as there isn't much else that mentions this job. The garages always insist it's part of the regular service but it clearly isn't.
    A very well presented guide.

      Thanks Philip. I genuinely appreciate your comments. Who'd of thought that this video would have this many views. A real shocker :-)

    Bet you didn't think this would be helping out people 4 years later!... Thanks mate, helped a lot to visualise it before i do this. Off to order filters now! thanks again.

      Thanks very much and good luck with the filter change.
      That's the wonder of you tube 😂. For an off the cuff video it still surprises me to see the amount of views on it. Cheers!

    All "how to" videos should be like this. I didn't even know where the pollen filter was until I watched this. Thanks Paul!. :)

    Thanks for the video. As other people say this is a bit of pain and is unnecessarily complicated and time consuming. One other tip; take your time replacing the new filters. If they start to bend or loose their shape, then it takes three times as long to get them in.

    • @paulosfandango_
      @paulosfandango_  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      robru you are welcome. It is a pain and is completely unnecessarily complicated but thats manufacturers for you 🤬
      It took me a long time of stripping various parts from the car to find it. A real 💡moment when I did find it which is why I created the video to help everyone else. I hope you continue to enjoy your GP ownership

    This vid was useful. Just bought a Grand C4 Pic and I'll be giving it a service. The pollen filter should be changed every 12 months. It is amazing how dirty they get after 12 months.

    Cheers mate, that's come in well handy as I had no clue where the filters were located other than they had to be in the dash area somewhere. Mine is left hand drive so it was a lot easier without the column in the way. Thanks again

    I have this car, I tried to do this the other day. I have to say that the designers at Citroen must have been high on crack when they designed this. It's extremely difficult to change. On my last car, a Vauxhall Vectra, all I had to do was open the bonnet, pull away a rubber seal, open a plastic flap and unclip the pollen filter.

    • @roasthunter
      @roasthunter 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very old comment but it's because we are right hand drive, it was designed for left hand drive and would be a doodle without all the pedals and column in the way

    this job is even easier if you have adjustable steering column put the steering up as high as it will go , then you can release the clip with a long screwdriver that secures the white air outlet pipe that's in the way , making the job a lot easier especially for people with bigger hands 👐

      Chris Ryan You're right, just serviced one of them yesterday, 1.6 hdi, whoever decided to secure fuel filter cartridge to its carrier with three T10 screws needs to have his brain tested. After two T10 bits sheered off, the heads got damaged, I drilled the heads out and replaced them with stainless hex screws with dab of copperslip. You have to think of future...

    Brilliant video. It was tricky getting them both out. But I used needle nose pliers and it was so much easier.
    Just don't pull to hard with the pliers because the filters are fragile and could wrip

    There are 2 filters therein, how do you place the second one inside? Since they are next to each other, is there a passengers or opposite to drivers side that you can access the second one? Or is it the only side were the filters are located?
    I managed to remove both and second one with pliers, however placing the second new one in, seems to be not technologicaly
    meant to be via this opening.

    • @paulosfandango_
      @paulosfandango_  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi
      There are 2 filters. One is on top of the other one. In right hand drive cars they are both on the drivers side. Hopefully the video shows this.

    • @paulosfandango_

    Could this be the reason the anti pollen system failure warning has come on ?

    • @paulosfandango_
      @paulosfandango_  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Amy Smith - Hi
      It stands a chance that it could be (although not guaranteed), if it's not been changed and is clogged up with all of the usual stuff that gets sucked in. For the sake of a few pounds from an auction site and about 30 minutes taking your time, it could be the remedy you are after.
      If it doesn't work then it might be worth getting it checked professionally

      Matt this could be the particle filter if yours is a diesel but it may be worth having a bit of a google and see the suggestions that pop up. Naturally if you can’t fix it probably best to get it into a garage to find out what the problem is.

    • @mattsteel5451

      Thanks mate ive given it a good long run and its seems to cleared out the dpf thanjs for the vid thoigh gonna look at txhe pollen filter soon to see how dirty it is. The cars 10yrs old and theres been no history of changing that filter that i can see

    I'm sorry but for a service item the positioning of these filters is moronic at best. Well done Citroen - now spend some money on ergonomics lessons for your designers! Anyway finally got the job done but it's a LOT easier (for RHD cars) if you first remove the white plastic air channel that's in your way. There's a clip top front of the part. Press that in and wiggle the channel off its seating (takes a bit of brute force but you won't ruin the part). Once that's off you'll have a bit more clearance to tackle the pollen filters. Note that the lower dash tray bolt is a Torx 20 and the lower clip on the right (holding the dash to the carpet) is threaded but mine was knackered so I just pulled it up with a regular trim tool - went back on ok.

    Dreadful design. I won't be changing mine until I get asphyxiated. Otherwise C4 Picasso is no trouble and cheap motoring, though there are horror stories around the automatics of this era.
