Nice, man. I bought the Alesia Strike Pro SE earlier this year (my 1st kit ever…thought I’d learn drums because why not). Looks like you purchased a couple extra crashes and I’m trying to figure out what kind of extension that is on the middle rack tho fit 3 toms. Lastly, would you think a double kick pedal could fit/work? Nice playing!
Thanks mate! I wasn't interested in having 2 "floor toms" so I mounted the rack in a different way, using the longest elements in the middle (I think they're supposed to go to the right). The extra cymbals are a Yamaha 10" at the centre which I use for a stack, and a Roland CY-8 for the extra crash to my left. I split the rim of tom 1 to get the mono channel for the Yamaha and the crash/choke section of the ride for the CY-8. The Roland out of the box doesn't really agree with the Strike module, I suspect swapping the left and right channels in the stereo jack might solve the issue though (Roland does things differently), This 20" bass drum is perfect for a double pedal! I have the ACD Unlimited Phantom but I have also used a Tama Iron Cobra and a Trick Dominator, everything works great but the Phantom works best because its beaters are equidistant from the centre. The Cobra in particular has the right beater in the middle with the left one to the side and this gave me some triggering issues. I stuffed the kick with some extra dampening to reduce bounce but I also had to relearn to play without burying the beater because this thing is so bouncy it kept double triggering! Cheers
Appreciate the response, bro. Yeah, I have an iron cobra too and understand the double triggering at times. I’ll search for the equicentric pedal you mentioned. Thanks for the info and make some more drumming vids! Love Deftones, Tool, AIC etc..
