      Hi, I looked into it and I don't see the replacement collars for the Yes4All but there are others that may or may not fit your handles. What I would do in your situation is to purchase the CAP Barbell 1" spring collars. I think they should work even though they don't screw on. You'll need to get the 1" and not the 2" for these dumbbells. I have the 2" version for my olympic bars but the 2" will be too big for the yes4All handles. Here is a link - www.amazon.com/CAP-Barbell-Standard-1-Inch-Collars/dp/B0029F62LU/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=CAP+Barbell+Olympic+1-Inch+Spring+Clip+Collars&qid=1614095966&s=sporting-goods&sr=1-4 (this is not an affiliate link).

      Hi Denise. Thanks for the compliment! I know about your pain finding them on Amazon. My daughter tried to buy some and found the same issue - not in stock. The pandemic really led to a rush on home workout equipment. I hope they are back in stock soon because I also want to buy some more!

    Can you fit four 10 lbs. plates on each side? I'm trying to see if I need the 14" or the 16" ones.

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hugh, let me check and I'll get back to you shortly. Just on another note, I use 25 lb weights which make it easier not to have to bunch up a bunch of 10's. Anyway, that's probably all you got. I'll check and respond.

      @TotallyUniqueLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hugh, I just checked and 3 10s in the maximum on each side. You might want to check and ensure that by getting the 16" handles that the area to place the weights is bigger. I'm not sure of that. Another option is to purchase some 25 lb plates.

    Great video Sir. I was thinking about getting the Yes4all 200lbs DB set. The holes in the DB handle and plates are 1.15inches I believe for this set. My question is do you know if I could use these plates (1.15inch holes) on a standard 1inch barbell? Would the plates be smooth, or wobbly on the bar, due to larger hole size of the plates?

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi akin1989, I think you'll be fine. I have an older EZ curl bar that has a 1" diameter exactly. I also have some plates with 1.15" holes. I just tried it out and there is a little play but once the weights are secured with the collars it's fine. I really think you'll be OK but if you're still concerned just send me an email to bobbessette@totallyuniquelife.com and I can either take a picture for you or do a quick video. Just let me know in the email to remind me what you need.

    Hello, liked the review, I am in the process of replacing my dumbbell handles because like you I bought the bad ones from Wal-Mart. However, due to this damn pandemic, I am having issues finding handles. (Or anything at all) I ordered some from Amazon, but it said that the ones I ordered are 1.15 inches. I measured the hole and it looks like its a little bigger than 1 inch. Will I have issues with the plates I currently have? I am thinking the reason the rubber gave out was because the plate is a little loose. I was constantly having to re tighten the collar between sets.

      Hi Chris,
      Thanks for watching the video. I feel your pain because I wanted to order more of these for my daughter but they were out of stock for the near-term so I gave her a couple of extra that I had. I just checked and it looks like they are back in stock which is a good thing. OK, I also noticed, as you said, they come in 1" and 1.15". So I just went out to my workout area and measured the hole size of my plates and it is 1 1/8" which is 1.125". If you purchased the 1.15" diameter handles that is .025" larger than the hole size. So, just based on that fact, it is my guess they will not fit (assuming you also have the 1.125" hole size in your plates). I'm wondering why they even sell the 1.15" diameter handles. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it just yet.
      Measure the hole in your plates and let me know if it is also 1 1/8". It could be that they still might fit as the diameter of the dumbbell handles may not be as large as advertised. You won't know for sure until you get them and try them out.
      Let me know what happens.
      Best,
      Bob

      Totally Unique Life Bob, so they came today and I can genuinely say that I have a mixed review. They fit some of the plates but not others. The most confusing thing is that I have 3 different brands of plates (cap, kettle plates and golds gym plates) and they will slide perfectly into some plates but not other of the same brand. I would say they fit about half of my plates. They fit my 25’s so that’s probably what I will use them for. Over all, I can say I will get some use out of them until supplies are available and they were 25 bucks so I am not that put out. One thing that I can’t stand is the ones I have are the black and red model and after one set I had red all over my hands, it felt greasy like it was some sort of cheap “grease paint” if you catch my drift. Thanks for the reply and happy lifting brother🏋🏼

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I was afraid of that Chris. That size seemed like the bars would be just barely larger than some of the plates holes you have. As you have noticed not all plates are made identical. At least they work for some of your plates which is something. That's too bad about the red coming off on your hands. Maybe you can rub them thoroughly with some type of cleaner? I know that when I purchased my Olympic bars and my curl bar, they were covered in a greasy material. So I just grabbed an old rag and filled a bucket with some lukewarm water and a little dish soap. I just rubbed them down to remove the greasy film on them and that did the trick.
      Chris, if you have it, could you send me the link to the dumbbell handles that you purchased? The ones I bought (the ones in the video) appear to be back in stock so I might pick up some more myself. Are these the ones you bought? They have red handles and the bars are black. - www.amazon.com/s?k=B087RQY46Q&i=sporting&ref=nb_sb_noss and they sell for just around $25.
      Anyway, good luck lifting and if you wouldn't mind letting me know what you bought that would be great.
      Best,
      Bob

      Totally Unique Life Yes4All Adjustable Dumbbell Bar | 1 inch & 1.15 inch Dumbbell Handles (Pairs & Single) www.amazon.com/dp/B01NAU25M5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_KXpcFbECQ1X58 is the link that should take you to what I bought. The black and red ones. I also wanted to share something I discovered today as well. Last night I went to a sporting goods store and bought some bar grips from Harbinger. They were about 25 bucks for 2. When I got home, I used a box cutter and sliced the worn rubber off of the handles and then put the Bar grips on there. You can then put your plates on and tighten the star collars until it secures the grips and the weights. I used it this morning and it worked really well for me. Plus these wide grips are supposed to promote muscle growth in the forearms and the biceps apparently. I will say I do kinda feel it in my wrists and hands. I guess sometimes we find diamonds in desperation lol

      OK thanks Chris. Yeah those are the ones I reviewed (the 1" version). I didn't see the black and red versions there but that's OK. I'll have to look into those harbinger bar grips. Sounds like a great idea! Keep on liftin!

    What would you say is the max weight 150?

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dyly, I just went out and made some measurements for you. The area for the weights is 4" and the collars themselves are 3/4" so this leaves you 3 1/4" to play with for the weights. My 25lb 1" hole plates are 1 3/8" wide. If I double them up it covers 2 3/4". So if you add the 3/4" for the collar that only leaves you 1/2" left for more weights. So, with my setup and weights available to me, the max I can place on these collars are 100 lbs of weights. Maybe you can find larger than 25 lb 1" hole weights. If you can that changes what you can add. But as far as the strength of these are concerned I would think they can handle 150lbs of weight if you can actually add them to the handles.
      If your weights are thinner than mine, you may be able to do so. I'm just using 25lb 1" hole plates that I purchased at Walmart. That was the cheapest option for me at the time. Maybe if you purchase Olympic size handles you can add much more weight and be able to use the Olympic weights you have. I really can't use my Olympic weights with these handles as they will slip due to the 2" hole size.
      I hope that answers your question. How thick are your plates?
      Best,
      Bob

    Does anyone know how much each standard dumbbell handle weighs without weight?

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the ones that are in the video should be 4 lbs each and that's including the collars on each bar. The product description (amzn.to/3W25Ama) says 8lbs total but that's for both bars and 4 collars. But, to be honest, there are so many different dumbbell handles out there that will weigh differently based on size, material, and density. But the ones in the video including the collars should be right around 4lbs each.
      I don't even consider the weight of the handles and, since I know the weight of the weights I add to it, I just add up the weights.
      Good luck,
      Bob

    How many 5lbs plates can you fit per side ?

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I just checked. My 5 lb weights are 3/4" wide so if yours are the same, I could fit four 5 lb weights on each side with the collars affixed. Maybe you have a bunch of 5 lb weights but you can always add 5, 10, or 25 lb plates on these which I do (the 1" hole version, not Olympic plates). Any more questions please ask and if you want me to send you a particular image with a weight on these handles just let me know here or email me at bobbessette@totallyuniquelife.com.

    I want to buy the 1.15 inch handle because instead of being 14 in length it’s 16 so you can put a extra plate but idk how tight of a fit it will be with my inch plates

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mrcalderon93,
      If your plates only have 1" diameter holes, they will not fit with the 1.15" diameter handles. I find the 14" length handles perfectly fine for my needs. I can fit 4 25 lb Gold's Gym plates on one of the 14" length handles with room to spare for another small plate on either side. So, do you need more than 100 lbs on each handle? I also checked the holes on the 25lb plates I have and they are 1 3/8" so there's plenty of space to fit the 1" handles. Unless you are doing more than 100 lb flys I'd say stick with the 14" handles especially given the fact that you have 1" plates. You simply won't be able to use the 1.15" diameter handles with your 1" hole plates. Good luck and let me know what you end up doing.

      Bob

    How many 10lb plates can fit on on handle

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi K.C, I answered that same question about 5 lb weights and the answer is below. The question I would have is how wide are your 10 lb plates? If they are like mine they are the same width as the 5 lb weights but just a wider diameter. Here is my response about the 5 lb weights:
      _Hi, I just checked. My 5 lb weights are 3/4" wide so if yours are the same, I could fit four 5 lb weights on each side with the collars affixed. • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi K.C, as I mentioned above, if your plates are 3/4" wide you could fit 4 on each side with the collars. If they are 1" wide I would say you can fit 3 plates on each side. If you need to get up in weight just go out and buy some 25 lb plates which is what I did to get up to 70 lbs and up.

    Nice review on these dumbbell handles..how do you avoid bar end digging into your leg?

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Devin,
      Are you talking about when I use them for dumbbell squats? If so, I tend to simply turn the dumbbell where the bar end is perpendicular to the side of my leg. As a result the only thing that hits my legs are the weights themselves. But maybe I am misunderstanding your question. :-)

      Totally Unique Life ..I meant when you’re doing dumbbell bench press...how do you rest the dumbbells on your thighs in between sets, without the exposed bar end digging into your thigh..I went back to my fixed dumbbells because I have a pair of the spin lock dumbbell handles..I didn’t like the way it felt when I rested the dumbbells on my thighs..with the exposed bar end...sorry for the misunderstanding 👍🏿

    • @TotallyUniqueLife
      @TotallyUniqueLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      OK, got it now. I can typically just move them out slightly and just rest the weights on my thighs on either side. So, essentially 1/2 of the dumbbell would be resting on each thigh. Tough to explain but I think you would understand. If not, send me an email to bobbessette@totallyuniquelife.com and I could take a picture of what I am talking about.
