It’s sickening how their mom treats him like her husband. She leans on him for support and respects him to do everything. She’s such a pathetic excuse for a mom.
When I saw this first that's what really stood out for me. It happens all the time. I've seen this play itself out right in front of me and they dont even see it. I think it's called a mother using her son as a surrogate husband
Her family and friends failed her, they failed to see she was struggling with anxiety and depression and just made it worse and even tho I understand that the brother had all this pressure on his shoulders he still had a good life, he had friends and a mother that cared for him, Nadine had one friend, that until now you could see it was the reason for her not going downhill. Neither their irresponsible mom or her brother cared for her enough to reach out and make her feel wanted, Nadine as a character has issues is true, but those issues are a result of her family lack of care and attention. They were both aware that Nadine was suffering but they just ignored it and the brother even made it worse, there’s this scene where he knows her anger is justified and that she’s hurting because she is scared of loosing her bestfriend and yet he chooses to make it worse, to push her of the cliff and to poke her where it hurts by mocking the fact that she only has one friend, her answer was bad but it was him tasting his own medicine. She gave Krista a ultimatum, which for me was a cry for help because in that moment she only wanted to be someone’s first choice, especially compared to her brother who was always the chosen one, was it okay for her to do that? No, but Krista his her bestfriend since kindergarten and even with all those years in their friendship she failed to understand her friend. Also in the party she knows Nadine is bad at communicating yet she decides to leave her alone, doesn’t even try to include her, if she invited her she shouldn’t just dropped her at the party and then forget about her. The point of the movie is literally how a teenager deals with all these feelings and is ignored by those around her to the point she becomes oblivious of others peoples feelings and problems, but what drove her to said state was not totally her fault. That’s just my opinion
Agreed!! Krista pissed me off so much. Throughout the movie, I literally just wanted to jump into the screen and snap her neck. That’s how awful she was.
@@superjackster0165 wtf? Krista has no right to have other friends? To be happy with a boyfriend? Nadine is not the only one with problems, Krista have it too and even so Nadine was selfish with her. "He would forget you when he know someone more prettier thank you" Nadie say that to Krista when she just tried to fix all. Have depression and anxiety don't excuese anyone of being a dick or a bitch, no matter what you have you don't have the right of hurt others. Especially of who loves you
@@himi2729 I’m not saying that Krista can’t have other friends. But she’s been aware for years on how Nadine and Darien hate each other. So it’s a big betrayal that she gave him a handjob. What kind of person thinks it’s okay to do makeout with the sibling of their best friend? Also, she pretty much ditches Nadine after that. After Nadine says their friendship is over, Krista is just like, “Alright” and walks away. Doesn’t even care. I’d be more sympathetic if Krista tried to talk to Nadine more. Maybe in the scene where Krista comes over to hangout with Darien, she walks by Nadine and says, “Hey”. But Nadine ignores her. Or maybe there could be a scene where Nadine looks at her phone and sees tons of missed calls or messages from Krista and ignores them. But that never happens and she just forgets about Nadine and only paying attention to Darien.
@@superjackster0165 We need to stop to think that Nadine it's the only one with feelings, you know? The movie show us how Krista tries to make things work, but her friend only ignore her and even worts insults her, it's obvious that Krista in a moment will be tired of trying to make things work who someone that don't even let her talk. You wuldn't? People, Krista got hurted thar how her friend was with her, or what she doesen't have emotions? She is a human and she can be with anyone she likes, Nadine put dramatical paper and act like that, because she is selfish and can't stand that her friend could be happy with her brother and meet other people. I would understend Nadine more if Krista were leaving her, but she never wanted to do that. Nadine ended up they realetion. And sorry for everyone but it's stupid, very dramatical and selfish think that if your friend got on a love relation with your brother it's a traitor. It's not and objetc, it's not a game, it's a person that loves someone! If you get angry or sad for something like that your selfish. Leave traitors for cheaters, murders, not that lololol.
@@himi2729 I guess. But here’s what the problem is. Krista and Nadine were friends for years. She’s Nadine’s only friend. She’s clearly aware that her and Darien don’t get along. She should’ve known that Nadine would not take any of that well. It seems like she isn’t aware of how hurt Nadine was. Sure, Nadine could’ve handled the situation better, but still. If i ever had feelings for my best friends sister, I’d try to talk to him. The last thing I’d ever wanna do is jeopardize our friendship. Bros before hoes. Krista seemed to take the friendship being over quite well. After Nadine says their friendship is over, Krista literally says, “Alright” and just walks away. Never speaks to her. I don’t know about you, but i would never give up on my best friend like that. Honestly Krista and Darien’s relationship just pissed me off because it just happened so abruptly. There’s a scene of them just cleaning up all the trash from the party, then in the next scene, in the morning, she’s giving him a fucking handjob. Seriously? I’m just as curious as Nadine. What could’ve possibly happened between them that led to that? The movie doesn’t explain that and it annoyed me. Having sex is one thing. But a handjob? That’s disgusting.
Darien and Krista were so fucked up for that shit. Krista was her only friend and then all of a sudden she just had to fool around with her brother knowing the rift that it would cause between them. I would never ever forgive them for that shit
Agreed. Think about it. The only reason Nadine knew about them together is because she randomly walked into the room at just the right moment to see Krista give Darien a HJ. What if she never saw that? She’d be completely confused on them acting romantic with each other. Then what, Krista was gonna keep this a secret from her or something?
Ikr? The brother has friends, caring mom and Nadine has only her after her father's death , and that girl decides to ditch Nadine for her brother like tf ?
when darian said "you know i love spending another night talking mom off the ledge" made me cry so, so hard. it hit me, and i dont even know why. i loved this whole movie, it was so good.
MissPop Coin he slept with her best friend and physically dragged and verbally abused her. no one would help her except the teacher and she was treated like she was a disappointment. she had every right to yell at him, he’s a fucking piece of shit
joe and i get the best friend thing, that bothered me too because he should have talked to her about it first, but same goes for the best friend. i guess people just fall for the right person at the wrong time.
@@zara-vo9dv YES. The brother might have had problems too but he was still in a much better situation than Nadine. He had the affections of his mother, the company of all his friends whereas Nadine hardly had any, and he was just in an overall good situation and yet he still chose his girlfriend over his own sister in the end and didn't take any initiative to truly help her out or to patch up their relationship until she went and apologized to him.
For what? What should Krista apologize for? For liking her brother, starting a relationship, and when Nadine tells her, "We're done," respects her wishes and leaves her alone? How about Darian? Because he fell for her best friend, started a relationship, then when she runs off without letting anyone in the family know where she is going or who with, spends the evening looking for her? Goes to pick her up, yet she acts like a child and refuses to get in the car because her ex best friend is in the car? Her mom who tried to comfort her, but was unable to read Nadine's mind, so flat out asked how she can make her feel better. Then goes to drop her off at school, and Nadine refuses to exit the car because G-d forbid, Krista is in the same vicinity? So she takes her to work as a way of punishment for her childish behavior, tells her that her dad would be disappointed in her (because he likely would for a SEVENTEEN year old behaving like a child), then STEALS her mom's car, trashes the bathroom and bedroom? Grow up.
@Crystal11Skulls making someone question their own reality. If you opened up to you friend for years about your insecurities with your sibling and then your friend slept with you brother when you were having a terrible night sleeping on the floor depressed and then said that there is no reason for you to be upset about it. I mean, they should have at least apologized to her. There is a reason she was upset and invalidated.
How is her friend toxic? For developing feelings and going after a guy who liked her back and being in a relationship that made her happy just because it made Nadine mad? Are y’all serious?
@@princesscurl733 Her friend didn't use her no did she leave her to be popular, don't make up a theory that wasn't present in the movie. I watched this movie for the first time when I was the exact age of Nadine and I’ve never cried harder during a movie. Honestly it was the first and only time I’ve ever seen the messiness of being a teenager portrayed so realistic. The Edge of Seventeen is criminally underrated.

I truly truly love this movie, so here's my take. They ALL had their struggles and can be sympathized with in different ways. But the reason why so many people (like me lol) are bothered by this ending is because the intended message of "the world doesn't revolve around you; other people have struggles too" doesn't feel rightfully executed since Nadine was the only one who apologized in the end. Yes, the world doesn't revolve around you, but you also shouldn't be a push over and let people guilt-trip you to take all the blame for a situation where multiple people were in the wrong and all made stupid decisions. Nadine realized that her brother didn't have it all easy, rightfully apologized to him, and started to make new friends for both her own sake and to make it easier on her family. But now try and look at it the other way. None of the other people acknowledged Nadine's struggles and loneliness, or tried to help her when she was in such an obviously painful situation. Now the theme feels unfairly pushed upon only Nadine. As a viewer, you can really feel for Nadine who had to go through it all alone and may have said some hurtful things out of anger. But can you really be proud of an ending where no one else owns up to their selfishness and the horrible ways they treated her? It's like she wasn't allowed to show any depressed behavior without being yelled at or guilt-tripped. They really hurt her by putting her in such a horrible, lonely situation without willing to acknowledge that. By not addressing it, It feels like it invalidates a lot of the justified suffering we watched Nadine experience as viewers from her perspective.
ummmm I strongly disagree. Krista was comforting a drunk insecure Nadine and then was SO stressed apologizing to Nadine after it happened she was apologizing non-stop. And someone please tell me what did darian truly do to her? other than sleep with Krista which developed a healthy relationship? The whole point is that there is happiness outside your teen angst and that it's unhealthy to keep relationships on the basis of loyalty or time. It is shown throughout the movie the two of them are honestly happy and Krista was honestly trying to keep her friendship w/Nadine as best she can, Nadine pours her heart out to Darien and he listens and comforts her. They are making good conversation the next morning. Yes it is a hard pill to swallow but that is the whole point! People are just mad that she isn't some perfect victim, and because of that people don't want to understand this movie and look at it in the most cynical way possible.
@@kevinmay9151 I agree with you. The point of this movie is for us to get out of our self-centered bubble and realized that, that yes our pain and sadness are real, but it doesn't invalidate others' feeling and that the world doesn't revolve around us.
I think something to note or that is missed, is the apology and her actions after didn't only represent guilt, but also growth. She apologizes because throughout the movie we see her focus and mindset revolves around her own suffering to the point she believes her brother not being a mess is an indication of a happy life. Or that maybe your friend making your brother happy isn't a bad thing. The brother doesn't apologize because in this moment, we the audience are shown that even through his struggles, he's trying to keep everything in balance. He's not doing a perfect job, his sister is a mess, but I think trying to talk your drunk parent off the ledge might have its own burden. Finally we have the mother, who doesn't apologize. But she doesn't grow either. She's more or less the same by the end of the film.
Ok but why tf was the best friend there. She had no purpose or did anything to support whatsoever. When Nadine walked away she didn’t even bother getting out of the car to talk to her.
Krista was there to support her boyfriend, and to support her friend(even though Nadine kicked her to the curb with a selfish rant). Nadine was a loser who couldn't get over the POOR ME's.
Their mother constantly put down Nadine, making her feel less worthy than her brother, while at the same time putting every responsibility she had as a mom on Darian. No wonder their relationship is fucked up
If they were in situation like Ross, Rachel and Monica I would be fine with it but this is different situation where Krista was only friend Nadina got and she decided to ditch her ass at party to fool around with her brother so no thanks
Rocky Aexiiy she didn’t ditch her. She went to the party to have fun. Nadine left because she can’t fit in that situation. That’s not Krista’s fault. She made the effort to make the whole situation work.
Rocky Aexiiy I didn’t state any opinion. I stated what happened. Krista and Darian wanted to make it work. They took her to the party. Nadine can’t do social interactions so she left. Not her fault or there fault. At least they tried. Try looking at it from another perspective. I think that’s a theme of the movie. Darian and Krista made each other happy together. They made an effort to make sure Nadine wasn’t left out.
i love how real the drama in this movie feels like. yeah, Nadine is so freacking dramatic, but in her head this is those feelings are real and painfull She's so into her feelings, that she believe's that she's the only one with that pain(depression is exactly like this sometimes) my only complaint is that in the moment Krista start to date Darian, she has 0 personallity she doesn't even talk more than two sentences per scene after the party scene... I really love this movie
He wasn’t being an asshole to her. He for once crossed over into her world with the sarcasm in all the statements he made to her while he was in her teacher’s house. Even after he said all of those things (which he meant sarcastically), he asked her teacher to give her a ride home because he loves and cares about her.
I don’t think people can truly understand the complexity of feelings going on in this movie unless you’ve lived through a situation like it. This movie actually depicts everything very well and with incredible accuracy. I have lived through this. When the brother said that he had to talk their mom off the ledge, I nearly cried. As the younger sister, I watched my older brother of one year become my mom’s surrogate husband. The weight of the family fell on his shoulders. I was more emotionally aware than Nadine was as a teenager so my brother had my full support but I still feel for him and the burden he went through. My brother was also the popular one with friends, favored by my mom and I was the loner outcast. But I tried hard not to make my brother’s life more difficult and obsess over my own hardships because, despite the pain I was going through, I knew my brother was also in pain and had a responsibility towards our family and mother that I did not have to fulfill. I feel for everyone in this movie.
The actual comment with braincells and has actual level of maturity. Most other people are bunch of self-centered crybabies who inserted themselves into Nadine and think everyone hates them. Maybe they are an outcast themselves too. But instead of using it as a reason to take steps of improving themselves, they just put the blame on everybody and assume others are the problem.
Two years later and I dunno I still think Darian and Krista were shit people for what they did to Nadine. As far as Darian I may be projecting just a tad but I fully stand by the fact that Nadine reacted in a fair way and just honestly no one really cared. They cared enough because it was disrupting their lives but if she wasn't so loud they honestly wouldn't care.
That’s really manipulative to say in my opinion I didn’t like the brother at all he seemed to care about him self more and everyone around Nadine seemed more concerned about how they felt never about her
I wish Krista would had managed the situation in a better way. Dating her brother and having new friends was totally fine but she just ditch her bff from childhood without even trying. Besides her dad, Krista was the person who knew Nadine the most she knew all of her struggles but still she just ditches her without even trying to make it all work. I know Nadine told her horrible things but when you're a real friend you try. Anyways, maybe I'm just expecting too much from a teenager, who knows, but if I was in the position of Krista I would have managed everything differently and not just wait until having Nadine's brother approval. The type of conversation Darian and Nadine had should have happened between Krista and Nadine first. Gladly she had Erwin and realized how important he was for her.
I think a theme of this movie is that the world doesn’t revolve around you. Other people aren’t side characters in your life. Everybody is their own protagonist. On a rewatch you can look at things through other characters prospectives to see this. Darian and Krista cared for each other. Yeah it makes it awkward that he is her best friends brother. But they made an effort to make it work between the 3 of them. Nadine was very unfair to Krista and tried to make her choose between them. I get that she’s mad but she was also being unreasonable. Krista was an “angel” in her life. And she through that away. As for Darian it seems like she doesn’t even care about him. Darian is in pain too. “Some people are just better at hiding it” - The same movie. He tries to make the best of it. They can’t help that they make each other happy. But they do, and try make it work without hurting Nadine. They invited Nadine to the party and, I know crazy idea, went there to have fun. They weren’t there to babysit Nadine. From Nadine’s perspective it didn’t work out. But at least they made the effort. And then Nadine just cut them out of her life as much as possible.
Yeah but come on nobody has a “perfect” life but some are closer to it than others. Darian’s problems weren’t nearly as bad as Nadine’s and honestly a lot of them were partly his fault, and he caused other people to have problems too. And the fact that he didn’t even apologize in the end? Boo-hoo you can’t date your sister’s best friend. She just lost her only closest friend of 10 years bc of you and now she has no one bc everyone hates her including her own mom. When he started complaining abt his life I legit started laughing it was like the most privileged person complaining abt their life struggles
@@panneda8448 How is he privileged? He lost his dad as well not just Nadine. The movie makes it seem like Nadine is the only dealing with problems, but that's not true. Krista and Darian care about each other alot and they understand each others problems as well. They also care about Nadine, but she's the one who cut them both off because they had feelings for each other. How on earth is that fair to them??
Darian had her mom who treated him better..darian had his girlfriend but nadine lost all..her friendship was gone..it could never be the same..she didn't have her dad..i don't like her mother pls dont justify..she lost all..i don't blame her brother n friend and how he had problems..but they were all oblivious to her problems as well...she was in lose lose position..you cant blame her for everything I also feel darian and krista were like got to hell we are dating...she left her friend for years within few days...when she asks her to chose krista doesn't which is right..but then you immediately call your bf about what his sister did
@@richapurohit8230 I don't like this whole idea that Darien "stole" her best friend. Nadine was the one who gave Krista the ultimatum "me or him you can't have us both" Nadine was the one who burnt that bridge in my opinion.
Panned a How are his problems laughable? He feels like he has to stop his mom from self destructing more than he already is even if his mom loves him he has to take care of her, his mother he has to put his life on hold to deal with a grown ass woman. Krista her best friend is her own person with her own feelings and she cared about Nadine and Darian. Nadine made it a competition and got hurt when Krista couldn’t made the choice immediately when she clearly cared about both a lot. How is it Darian’s fault that he adjusted better to his fathers death than Nadine they both went through the same trauma. Also it is heavily implied that Nadines dad loves her more than Darian. Darian didn’t find a magic pill to make him popular he just fit in better and made more of an effort to like and be liked by his peers Nadine didn’t. She didn’t like her fellow students and got angry or sad they also didn’t like her. She also came to that conclusion at the end of the movie and realized Darian was dealing with his own stuff.
What this movie does that I like, is it makes you hate but also feel for the main character. They also gave depth to Darien's side instead of making him a jerk just because. It all just fits together so well
Its crazy how many people in these comments missed the entire point of this scene. Hello!!!! When Darian said what he said, Nadine realized that since her dad died everyone was struggling in their own way. He said he's only applying to nearby schools because he doesn't wanna be too far away incase something goes wrong. He has to constantly talk his mom off the ledge because, helllllloooooo she lost her soul mate and is still struggling. Did we watch the same movie??? Yes she was grieving too, but Nadine was exhausting and oblivious to everyone else's feelings.
What some people misunderstand about this movie is that Darien's life genuinely kinda sucks too. Yes, he is handsome and has friends, but he also takes on so much additional responsibility for someone his age because his mom makes him feel like he has to step up in his father's place. He has to put on this brave face all the time because he thinks the very sanity of his mom hinges on his ability to be a good son. If Krista even came close to making that weight feel a little less heavy on his shoulders, I would understand why he would want to hold on to her.
She is sulking and lash out on everybody for the smallest occasion. Her brother keeps everybody afloat while also try to get his life together. I dont think she even try to see how he is on the edge of a cliff, day in day out. He carry the world on his shoulders while she is just me against the world, what ads even more pressure on him.
I’m sorry but the fact that she went out with a boy that wasn’t good for her just because he gave her attention proves that she only had her best friend to hang onto and when she lost her best friend she clung onto something else which was attention she wanted the attention that everybody else wants you know when they feel depressed and alone because anxiety and depression is not a walk it’s a crawl you barely make it there
It's funny you can almost tell the age of the commenters solely based on whom they relate more with. The point of this isn't to point blame. Nadine is suffering, but the character growth she goes through is to realize that other people around her are suffering too. It's not her vs the world. It's her who's closing off herself to the world. Just because she's immersed in her own pain doesn't make other people villains because they can't always be what she needs. A big part of healing is to recognize you have problems and reach out for help. There's a point where it's freeing to realize a big part of your own problems is yourself, because it means you are in fact in control of fixing it and not entirely helpless
getting with Nadine's best friend was really messed up but some of you in the comments don't recognize that Darian was a parentified child and his mom put him on a pedestal he never asked to be on which made him feel like he could never complain/talk about what he was stuck dealing with because "he had it so good". His mom constantly leaned on him to deal with family conflicts and be her personal therapist after their father died. He wasn't in "such a better situation because his mom gave him praise" he was literally dealing with a non obvious form of psychological abuse. He never got to act out or be carefree because he had to be the "responsible one" to keep his family together because he felt like otherwise it would all fall apart. He HAD to be perfect. He didn't want to be because no one is perfect let alone a literal teenager. He probably longed for the freedom to act out and escape his situation but he didn't have that option because of the role he was forced into in his family unit. Nadine's emotional neglect was just way more obvious. Which is why they were fighting over Christa who seemed like the only emotional support for either of them. In the latter part of the movie you see Nadine acknowledge that she's not the only one dealing with the baggage of her father's passing just because hers was more obvious and outwardly shown.
Nadine was the one to say sorry and apologetic about it and no one did say sorry like it was all her fault wow. Krista stopped talking to her just because her best friend who has mental health issues told her to do so. People should be there for the worst too, even when someone doesn't want it cause if you dig a little deeper, then that same person deep down probably need it the most. You don't give up that easily on friendship just because you fell in love and you have a boyfriend or you have tons other friends inspite of knowing that Nadine is not sociable and don't have any friends other than Krista! It's hard to not have friends! You hate it when people aren't there for you!!! Not every person is same! Not everyone can be Krista or Darien and be friendly and open!! Some are awkward, it's hard for them to mingle! They have different psychology going on in their head, people don't understand that, they are left unnoticed! And they are the one who says sorry always and move on with their unresolved, shitty mental battle and just pretend that they are ok and smiling and all happy!! It's hard!! It's heartbreaking cause more you keep all bottled-up emotions inside, more it affects your mental health and you can't help it but accept it the way it is. As you cannot question an extrovert for being so out there the same way one cannot question an introvert why he/she is not friendly!! One can never know until they ho through the same, it's very easy to sit there and judge !! But at the end of the day one cannot blame anybody!! Real life is not perfect and I also understand that Nadine was not anyone's problem, not Krista's or Darien's but definitely she was the problem for her own mother, her mother should have resolved it! For once, she should have really been a mother to Nadine too and not just Darien's.
I'm gonna write another essay on the brother here despite just having commented one just a second ago. Darian gets unnecessary crap. He's not toxic! The movie is shown in Nadine's perspective which means his struggles and issues aren't as detailed, but that doesn't mean he has none. He lost his father too and with his mother relying on him so much for support he _had_ to grow up way sooner than Nadine. He had to be the good son given how difficult Nadine can be, again, this isn't her fault either. I've been there! I had to always be the emotionally stable one, the responsible one and meanwhile, everybody just assumed that came natural to me and invalidated my feelings or my problems because "sHe'S mAtuRe, shE'll gEt oVer iT". He cares for his sister, it shows in the simple way that he respects her choice in not wanting to ride with them, he still looks out for her and asks the teacher to drop her off. Cut him some slack.
When I first watched this I was 14. Didn’t quite understand the movie at all and just found it kind of boring but funny because of Nadine’s mishaps. But after I turned 14 my whole life went to shit. I turned 17 this year and coincidentally came across this movie and decided to rewatch. The amount of tears that I sobbed during Nadine and Darian’s interactions were so much that my eyes started burning. I never thought that I would be able to relate to a teenager in a movie, since most portrayals of teenagers are so unrealistic. But Nadine asking her mum to drive around the block because she saw Krista and Darian hit way close to home.
When he talked about needing to find a school that was close by because god knew what would happen if he wasn't around at the house... oof I felt that. When you feel pressure to take care of everyone around you and all their problems, whether they be friends or family, you start limiting yourself and your own life to bend to what they need or want from you (or what you think they need...) When you take on a lot of responsibilities and feel like you're carrying other people's wellbeing, you start to convince yourself that everything would go to shit without you and they couldn't function if you left. It's not a good feeling. And... for anyone who needs to hear it, people are often times a lot more resilient than you might think. Be free. Living with your own needs in mind is not selfish, it is a simple right that every human beings deserves.
This movie made me cry from start to finish, I don't even know if it's the kind of movie that makes such a sensitive person but I swear on my life that I suffered with the girl and it's been a while since a movie made me feel like this
Lowkey hate this movie because of the way Nadine just basically forgave their bullshit at the end. Neither of the 2 of them thought for one second how that shit affected her. At the very least, they owed it to her to listen to why she had an issue with them being together, and why him being mr. fucking perfect bothered her, and why she felt like he didn’t care. And they never rectified that situation in this movie. She just basically had to apologize and feel bad…. AGAIN. And get over it. Which was bullshit.
i feel the same way... but unfortunately that's how it is in real life.. a lot of the people who are supposed to be close to someone, like family and friends, don't even realize what that individual might be dealing with.. they're too selfish, caught up in themselves to take one moment to think that the other person could be dealing with anxiety and depression... that's the message i think the filmmakers were trying to give for that i mean, as much as i hate Derian -even the actor choice is stupid. he's supposed to be one year older than her but he looks like he's freaking 23. and his performance does not make up for it either, imo - i really hate the mother. Can't tell if the actress sucks but she does a great job at making you hate her. Those are the worst kind of parents. Even worse than the alcoholic/druggies who neglect their kids.. because at least they are honest and show they don't care. This stupid woman gas lights Nadine and emotionally abuses her and doesn't stop to realize that maybe her acting out means she's going through something and that it's her bad parenting. I feel like, other than the trauma Nadine endured watching her father die, her stupid mother is the reason she has anxiety and depression problems. but the happy ending i focus on is Nadine and Erwin. The entire movie everyone is shitting on her and she's feeling awful yet then something good finally happens for her. Plus it looks like that teacher played by Woody Harrelson will somewhat be there for Nadine (at least until the school year is over lol). Those two have a fun bantering type of dynamic.
Bruhh why though? Nadine got a MUCH better deal. In the end by accepting life, getting rid of her sucky friend, and her relationship with her “mom” her reward was REAL friends, a boyfriend(partner) and RESPECT from her teach. Sweet
@@ntbored7727 Thank god I'm not the only one who thought Krista sucked. I get she can date who she wants but it was fucked up to sleep with her brother knowing he and Nadine had a shitty relationship.
She was clearly having an episode and her shitty best friends does nothing. This movie would’ve been great but the way her family and best friend got no character development at the end made it very bittersweet
They didn’t realize how much pain she was in and I hate that one little hug from her brother automatically “resolved” the underlying issue. I wish she would’ve went into depth about how alone and left out she felt especially when she had plenty of chances to do so. Krista got off the hook easily when shouldn’t have especially for what she pulled with her brother and at the party. Neither of them understood that Nadine literally had no one and the one person she did have was taken away too by the person who had everything. Also, I hate how she was quite literally the only one that had to apologize and yet nobody else did.
Throughout the movie, you can tell the whole family was going through it. Nadine just happened to take the worst of it because of Krista & Darian. What hurts the most is that she tried, and she didn’t go through with it (rightfully). and it makes perfect sense why she made Krista choose in the heat of the moment. it might just be my opinion: she had every right to cut them off. And i'd like to think Nadine chose to make amends at the end because she stopped caring about salvaging whatever is left before she caught them. That they weren’t really worth it. :/ otherwise, the one (or two) who should've been delivering that sobbing apology were her so called 'family'. Even her mother. And don't get me started about the mother.
These are kids in high school. Adults in the same situations barely get it right. Give them a break and let them regret some decisions later in life like the rest of us.
Nadine was pretty awful too, yeah she was hurting, but so was her brother who was trying to keep everything together, and she threw it in his face the time he was breaking down about their fathers death
Ya the comments here are a bit odd to me. We can acknowledge that Nadine is suffering and going through grief but we don't acknowledge that the brother is suffering and can make mistakes in not reaching out enough or saying the right thing? I thought that was the whole point of the line in the movie when her mom says everyone is hollow but some people are better at pretending. The line is to show how messed up the mom is in telling her she needs to pretend but that same line represents her brother and expectation his mom has on him. Just because he has friends and does well at school does not mean they are ok inside.
Man people really get on My nerves in this comment section. Thinking Nadine is the only person in that family going through shit. That doesn’t make her special. Everyone in that family lost someone they loved and cared about. But No everyone likes Nadine and cater to her and hate the brother because he has a pulse and feelings. Take a step back watch the movie again and then think about it. Nadine isnt wrong or right her brother wasn’t wrong or right. No one in this movie is wrong or right. It’s about dealing with your emotions and insecurities. And dealing with grief. At a young age man. And how when we are young we think everything and everyone is against us and one bad thing happens we fell like the whole world is ending. When really it isn’t the world doesn’t revolve around you, you aren’t the only one who is fucking struggling. You are just like everybody else. Get used to it.
Nadine is a very flawed character, she pushes the people around her away but secretly wants them to care. She contradicts herself, so she can blame the people around her instead of herself, until of course the final scene. Sure she may not be the only one at fault, but she does not realize ultimately she makes it worse for herself, she's the biggest obstacle standing in her way.
I don't think people get the brother in this scene. The whole movie he seems like he's fucking killing it in life, but this scene showed us he's not. He's not saying he has it worse and he's definitely not saying he doesn't actually care about her. He specifically says he's worried about the house falling apart and not being able to be with his gf without breaking his sisters heart. He obviously thinks about her too, and considering how pathetic their mom is, he's had to be the one somewhat stable person to keep things going.
Interesting comment section. A lot of back and forth who is right and who is wrong. I think all three (Nadine, Krista, and Darian) are all right and wrong in their own way. Honestly, I think Woody Harrelson's character came out looking the best in this film which is odd, because he's usually good at playing the villain in a lot of his movies.
@@michaelone9475 - It's always interesting watching Woody's interviews because he's really just a happy go lucky hippie and then you see his work on the big screen and he's so good at being a no-good SOB. Great actor.
As the oldest and someone who’s dealt with similar crap (not to this extent, but having to be ‘the glue’ and basically the responsible one in my own family) I’d be interested in seeing a movie from Darians point of view, or something similar. Anyone know of any movies like that?
I get her best friend wasn't helping, but I'm sure it's more common than people admit, people dumping friends for there special other. It happens... It's called life.
Nadine was wronged in many ways and it really annoys me that she's the only one who apologized for her behavior (due to depression and anxiety) at the end. The brother, the so called friend of hers never understood her , acknowledged her, ditched her and were so selfish! They should fucking apologize too like ? The ending seems unfinished without 'everyone ' owning up to their shits. I'm atleast glad Nadine found a guy who understood her and includes her.
Nadine is the definition of Taylor Swift's Anti Hero. "I'm the problem it's me" she couldn't see past her own pain to see how others feel. She even admits that later on in the film.
Honestly, Krista is probably one of the most infuriating characters I've seen in a film. Who the hell hooks up with their best friends sibling with zero regards to how they feel and are even willing to jeopardize their own friendship over it?
@@superjackster0165 yessss she is the most infuriating character in a movie ! it's a good movie but I can't even enjoy because of how they both did Nadine
@@moodforever I gotta go on a little rant here. Krista is a terrible Person. What kind of sick person gives their best friends brother a handjob? That is disgusting and wrong. She’s been best friends with Nadine and is clearly aware that her and Darien hate each other. She should’ve known that Nadine would not take that well at all. In the scene where they’re at McDonald’s, Nadine, like any normal person, kept asking what happened that led to that. Then, out of nowhere, Krista “explodes” and says “Stop talking please!! You’re driving me crazy”. No shit she’s driving you crazy. You literally gave her brother a handjob and you don’t care about how she feels. Krista also ditches Nadine at the party to be with the cool kids. Yes, Krista can have other friends. That’s all fine and good. But she’s aware that Nadine is terrible at socializing with other people and doesn’t even invite her to join them. What was the point of having her come to the party if she was gonna ditch her? Also, she seems to clearly be okay with her and Nadine’s friendship ending. When Nadine says their friendship is over, Krista literally says, “Alright” and walks away with no hesitation. I’m sorry, i would NEVER abandon my best friend like that. If I ever had feelings for one of his siblings, I’d talk to him about it. The last thing I’d wanna do is jeopardize our friendship. Bros before hoes. It makes me wonder why Krista was Nadine’s best friend for so long if she was willing to abandon her just like that. Also, why did she suddenly start having feelings for Darien out of nowhere? She’s known the guy for years and clearly seen that’s he’s an asshole. She was willing to abandon her best friend to be in a relationship with an asshole? When Krista tells Nadine that he asked her to Prom in May, she says it in this seduced and romantic way. Judging from the weather in this movie, it appears that it takes place around November. I’m sorry, asking someone to Prom that far in advance is not romantic. It’s creepy af.
@@superjackster0165Krista is a teenage girl who cares for her emotionally unstable best friend. Nadine is self-destructive. She gets drunk and passes out and Krista and Darian are left to clean up. They’re attracted to each other, and it makes sense that they would be. He’s spent his life taking care of his emotionally unstable mom and handling the fallout of her conflicts with his sister. He’s always had to be the responsible one, he’s had to be the one who doesn’t need anything, the one who’s always there. His mom doesn’t have anyone else; his sister has had Krista, to be there for her in a way Nadine resents Darian too much to allow him to be, if he had the energy left over from taking care of their mom. Around Krista, that’s not the case. He can just be himself. They’ve been around each other for years; he’s seen how kind she is, and she’s seen how caring he is, how responsible. They’re the people who clean up at the end of the party, not the people who get to go crazy and pass out wherever they want. So yeah, they’re attracted to each other, and they talk, and they bond, and they sleep with each other, and they make each other feel good, and Nadine walks in while this is happening. And Krista apologizes, over and over. She explains that it just happened, moved in the moment by passion and intimacy, without thought. She brings Nadine to a party that she, Krista, was invited to, because she cares about her and wants her to see they can still be friends. She leaves Nadine to mingle with other students, assuming she can make friends- which is a correct assumption, since she makes friends with Erwin. Nadine is the one who is insecure, who ignores Krista at school, who lashes out when Krista confronts her and tries to make her feel bad by saying Darian doesn’t care about her. Krista knows this is not true because Darian likes her so much that he has asked her to be his girlfriend, that he believes they’ll still be together when prom comes around. Nadine is the one who demands that she choose. Krista does not choose between two people she cares deeply about. Nadine is the one who ends the friendship.
Everyone shitting on Darian, I had to help raise three younger siblings (2 sisters and a brother) I had to do that while also juggling our mother. You still got to smile because not everyone can be broken at the same time. You got to be the strong one cause ain’t no one gonna hug you and tell you it’s ok to not be good enough because the fact is you gotta be the one or you failed. You failed your mother you failed your siblings you just plain failed. And it’s not till your alone and everyone else is taken care of that you can finally cry. Finally let out the pressure that sits in your chest to be the pillar. The one who makes sure the house is running and everyone is ok.
Darien saying "I can't have her without destroying you" felt so weightless to me. Perhaps if we'd seen a little more conflicting emotions from him and krista about moving forward with a relationship or showing that they felt bad about hurting someone they claim to care about, it would feel more impactful but it doesn't and while its obvious in this scene how much he is also going through, it still doesn't change the fact that he "took" the only person his sister had and didn't give a crap about how that impacted her.
1:39- I don't know about you all but this apparent concern that being w Krista would break Nadine seems to me to come out of nowhere? Where was it when he was literally MOCKING the fact that she only had Krista? Or when neither Krista, nor Darian made any efforts to see how to make her feel better? Or when he was calling her dramatic and what not. Not to say that Nadine is exempted from her actions but that line just feels insincere to me
That line just pisses me off. He says Krista is “the one person that makes me feel like i can take a fucking breath”. What the hell does that even mean? He’s one of the most popular guys in the school and has several friends and has probably had a lot of girlfriends. Any one of those people would’ve made him feel like he could “take a breath”. What makes Krista any different?

@@naomiperez7257 Agreed. There’s even a line where Krista says that Darien asked her to Prom in May. Judging from the weather in this movie, it looks like it takes place around November. Asking someone to Prom that far in advance is not romantic. It’s actually really creepy
I feel like she had a right to feel that way about her friend and her brother's relationship and the fact that they kept pushing her to accept it before she was ready was messed up. Like I felt for the brother having to put up with his Mom's shit and I know love is love, but Nadine's feelings were real and they shouldn't have ignored her problems into oblivion.
Okay, ALL BETS ARE OFF!!! There are so many issues with each thing that Darien said to Nadine to try and guilt trip her and I’m gonna explain them 1. He always has to talk his mom off the ledge: Did he ever consider getting her a psychiatrist or finding some other way of getting her help instead of dealing with it himself? 2. He only applies to schools located nearby because he’s worried about what could possibly happen in the house if he’s not there to fix it: NOBODY asked him to do that. His mom is a grown ass woman who needs to learn to take care of herself. 3. Krista is the one person who makes him feel like he could take a breath: WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN? He is one of the most popular guys in school and is shown to have hundreds of friends and has probably had numerous girlfriends in the past. Surely, those people would’ve made him feel like he could take a breath. What makes Krista so special? He shows absolutely zero remorse or guilt for his relationship with her leading to the end of Nadine and Krista’s friendship considering that he’ll most likely breakup with her before the school year even ends. He doesn’t even try to convince Krista to reconcile with his sister considering that she’s her only friend. Let’s not forget that he was a complete dick to Nadine and treated her like shit throughout the entire movie. I’m sorry, Darien is a monster and I’d gladly piss all over his grave with zero hesitation or remorse
I think it should have been like Kristy should have got off the car and asked her to come in. Confront her and talked to her best friend that she has known for so many years and she just got into a relationship with Darian for a month and thinks he's the one? Nadine should have never apologized to her jerk brother and pathetic bffs
Now that it's 2023 Darian is the real bad guy her cause his actor Blake Jenner did bad things and was arrested and Haley Lu just made a very big mistake!
Ok here's my take on this scenario. I don't blame Nadine for acting the way she did. First off, Krista was her bestfriend FIRST. If she was head over heels for her brother, the most decent thing to do was open up to Nadine first. She also knew the rift between Nadine and Darian. Sure she was there for Nadine since childhood, but it was mutual. There was no valid excuse for her behavior at all. She disrespected their friendship and added to the fuel to the fire. Second, Darian knew Nadine and Krista were friends. That was simply a jerk move to his sister. He couldn't even mend their sibling relationship beforehand, yet he decided to skip to her friend and disrespect boundaries. Third, the mother is simply terrible.
People are far too hard on Darian. The reality of it is he was trying to hold himself together while trying to hold the family together. He struggled as much as Nadine, and was relatively selfless the whole way through, the situation with her friend aside. We can tell that he was in so much pain in this scene in particular, and he clearly had talked to his girlfriend about it, as she knew before he even made a move that he was going to rant at Nadine, as she tells him to "let it go". Darian really hurt Nadine by trying to help himself, but really the friend was more in the wrong than anyone. She should have brought the relationship on more gradually, so as to minimise conflict. I love Nadine, but she is selfish. Darian was trying the whole way through to have it all, and exhausting himself. She was just trying to survive and still exhausting herself, and takes it out on everyone. Which I find relatable, but toxic nonetheless
I agree with just about everything you said aside from nitpicking at Krista. She’s so blatantly hated people expect her to hold Nadine’s hand through everything SHE gets to experience, as if Nadine is entitled to Krista and everything she experiences. And Krista apologized to Nadine a bunch as well as initially planning to cut off Darien as well as apologize to him, but they realize they honestly have a thing for each other. She had the decency to let Nadine 3rd wheel but is expect to have Nadine attach to her hip? What!? It’s a PARTY, YOU ARE MEANT TO MEET NEW PEOPLE. Yes Nadine was having a hard time in that environment but that’s really not Kristas fault. Like she never stopped trying to get Nadine is this new normal and Nadine’s the one who cut her off. Nadine’s dilemma ultimately comes from placing all her cards on surrounding herself with people who validate her ego as well as unfairly judging the brother. Which is her fault, yes it’s a hard adjustment when you’ve lived and rode out trauma on that plan, but it’s such a “Woe is me” argument for people to expect Everyone to bow down to Nadine because she ultimately just complains the most.
I think that neither of the siblings are more wrong really actually and both are understandable. Darian is parentified, and takes out his frustrations and stress in the form of how he treats Nadine often. Nadine is constantly put down, especially by her family. It’s no wonder (and valid on both sides) they don’t have a good relationship and dislike each other and legitimately so not in play sibling rivalry sort of way. If anything, I think its the best friend that comes off the worst. It comes off as shitty to date someone your very close friend has issues with brother or not, they’ve likely confided in you with. She did try to mediate it, but honestly wasn’t going to be way to make that any less shitty. I feel for both siblings, neither get the attention and care they deserve and it comes out in different ways. I know they both care, deep down, but Nadine and Darian can’t read the others mind both are valid to feel the way they do about the other based on the surface, you know?
My frustration with him was that he was completely negligent of what this was doing to Nadine, and would put her down anytime she aired her frustrations. And in the end, he NEVER apologized. I understand he was going through a lot too, but at least he wasn't alone. He was amongst the most popular in his school with a huge group of friends he could lean on, and yet he had to unapologetically snag the only support system Nadine had. I just think that grief is hard, but its unbearable when you're alone. It would have been nice if he expressed some awareness of what really went down
Maybe I am having trouble picking up on it, but when Darian went back to tell Nadine she's right, was that him confessing he's hurting too, and feels bad for dating her friend because he knows how hard it is for Nadine to witness? Or was he being genuine in the "my life is awesome and I hate you" spiel?
It’s fascinating to see how almost all the top comments did not get the movie. What Darian said was not to be taken literally, he said it in such a way to show Nadine upfront how biased her way of thinking was. Nadine always blamed others for her problems and never got the courage to face them, she always lived as the victim. And Darian had to endure the insufficiency and instability of her mother who also made him feel responsible of others’ failures. When Darian says all that he shows to Nadine that he’s also hurt and that he doesn’t take things lightly as he has shown before. Their mom too has not fully recovered from the grief but she’s slowly starting to learn how to trust. They’re all at fault and that is reality. There is no good side of the story, we are all constantly learning from the bad we do and that’s what matters. I also don’t understand why people hate Krysta so much. She has the right to be with whoever she wants and even if it is the person that Nadine dislikes the most. If Krysta was at the end wrong then that’s her problem but not up to Nadine to judge. You guys gotta understand that we all make mistakes and have our own issues, no one’s is bigger than others. What a way to miss the point.
Honestly Nadine was being so irrational about the situation. Its sad because while she was just upset about her brother and her best friend dating, she never took the time to understand how life has affected her brother as well since their father died. Tho I understand you have to live with a family member that people idolize and always want to be around and then you have a person that some what doesn't surround his life like everyone else does, but she was so overly dramatic about it
I don’t hate anyone in this movie other than the mom. Darian and krista didn’t even do anything wrong. Krista didn’t choose the brother over her best friend. Nadine was kind of being dramatic about the whole thing saying “ he’s gonna dump you for someone hotter” or “me or him” and krista didn’t choose because she shouldn’t have to. She loves Nadine and likes her brother with good promises of still being nadines best friend. - Nadine acted like everything her brother did was to make her look bad and take things from her. He tried to be responsible by talking to her about it all the time but she kept throwing insensitive accusations and words towards him. He had so much pressure on him and when he wants to be happy he can’t even be happy with krista without making Nadine sad.

Grow up.
@Crystal11Skulls everybody kinda gaslight her there was no empathy about her situation so yeah she deserved an apology
@@taymorrie5921Do you know what gaslighting means?
@Crystal11Skulls making someone question their own reality. If you opened up to you friend for years about your insecurities with your sibling and then your friend slept with you brother when you were having a terrible night sleeping on the floor depressed and then said that there is no reason for you to be upset about it. I mean, they should have at least apologized to her. There is a reason she was upset and invalidated.
I totally dont blame nadine for refusing to get in the car. With a toxic friend and her jerk of a brother who cares of himself
How is her friend toxic? For developing feelings and going after a guy who liked her back and being in a relationship that made her happy just because it made Nadine mad? Are y’all serious?

What kind of sick person ditches their best friend to be in a relationship with their sibling? What’s worse is that she’s clearly aware of how hurt Nadine is about this. Yet, she doesn’t give a shit. Also, throughout the movie, Darien has not been seen as anything but an asshole. Krista was really willing to ditch her best friend since Kindergarten to be in a relationship with an asshole. She doesn’t try to find a way to make this whole situation work by dating Darien and still being friends with Nadine. Also, there’s a scene where she mentions that Darien asked her to prom, which was several months away. She says it in a such a charming and sweet tone. I’m sorry, asking someone to Prom several months in advance is not romantic. It’s creepy af

@@slicksquids LMAO way to pull that out of your ass. She's literally done nothing for anyone in this whole movie.
People are just mad that she isn't some perfect victim, and because of that people don't want to understand this movie and look at it in the most cynical way possible.
best comment so far
Completely agree
“Just let it go” girl what-
Krista was there to support her boyfriend, and to support her friend(even though Nadine kicked her to the curb with a selfish rant). Nadine was a loser who couldn't get over the POOR ME's.

Even after he said all of those things (which he meant sarcastically), he asked her teacher to give her a ride home because he loves and cares about her.
thank you, who knows the shit he is going through too, having to be the adult, the big sibling and shit
He was an asshole to her, maybe not in this scene- but he was in earlier scenes.
You nailed it.
Whoever wrote this did a good job of brother sister rivalry
Two years later and I dunno I still think Darian and Krista were shit people for what they did to Nadine. As far as Darian I may be projecting just a tad but I fully stand by the fact that Nadine reacted in a fair way and just honestly no one really cared. They cared enough because it was disrupting their lives but if she wasn't so loud they honestly wouldn't care.
It's justified to end your friendship and flip out at your brother for starting a relationship? You're insane.
I totally get being the older sibling but Nadine has defiantly got the shorter end of the stick here.
I would not want to handle it the way Krista did. You hit the nail right on the board: Krista was simply a teenager.
Darian had her mom who treated him better..darian had his girlfriend but nadine lost all..her friendship was gone..it could never be the same..she didn't have her dad..i don't like her mother pls dont justify..she lost all..i don't blame her brother n friend and how he had problems..but they were all oblivious to her problems as well...she was in lose lose position..you cant blame her for everything
I also feel darian and krista were like got to hell we are dating...she left her friend for years within few days...when she asks her to chose krista doesn't which is right..but then you immediately call your bf about what his sister did
@@richapurohit8230 I don't like this whole idea that Darien "stole" her best friend.
I really hate Nadine's Brother.... Really
the writing in this movie was incredible
What this movie does that I like, is it makes you hate but also feel for the main character. They also gave depth to Darien's side instead of making him a jerk just because. It all just fits together so well
This is a movie that didn't have good or bad people(aside from the mom) but simply understandable character.
Their mother was very neglectful and in turn it created a neglectful brother Nadine just needed someone to be there for her
What some people misunderstand about this movie is that Darien's life genuinely kinda sucks too.
He's been parentified. Mom is the one who's messing up here.
Yeah people seem to forget hes also a teenager just like nadine
She is sulking and lash out on everybody for the smallest occasion.
Her brother keeps everybody afloat while also try to get his life together.
I dont think she even try to see how he is on the edge of a cliff, day in day out.
He carry the world on his shoulders while she is just me against the world, what ads even more pressure on him.
I’m sorry but the fact that she went out with a boy that wasn’t good for her just because he gave her attention proves that she only had her best friend to hang onto and when she lost her best friend she clung onto something else which was attention she wanted the attention that everybody else wants you know when they feel depressed and alone because anxiety and depression is not a walk it’s a crawl you barely make it there
That is true but her mother just got on my damn nerves and her brother was an asshole and Krista was never her friend
There's a point where it's freeing to realize a big part of your own problems is yourself, because it means you are in fact in control of fixing it and not entirely helpless
still hate the brother and that “friend” til this day.
I still hate that poor excuse of a friend Nadine had. She is a toxic person
getting with Nadine's best friend was really messed up but some of you in the comments don't recognize that Darian was a parentified child and his mom put him on a pedestal he never asked to be on which made him feel like he could never complain/talk about what he was stuck dealing with because "he had it so good".
This movie made me cry from start to finish, I don't even know if it's the kind of movie that makes such a sensitive person but I swear on my life that I suffered with the girl and it's been a while since a movie made me feel like this
Same
Lowkey hate this movie because of the way Nadine just basically forgave their bullshit at the end. Which was bullshit.
i feel the same way... but unfortunately that's how it is in real life.. a lot of the people who are supposed to be close to someone, like family and friends, don't even realize what that individual might be dealing with.. they're too selfish, caught up in themselves to take one moment to think that the other person could be dealing with anxiety and depression... that's the message i think the filmmakers were trying to give for that
i mean, as much as i hate Derian -even the actor choice is stupid. he's supposed to be one year older than her but he looks like he's freaking 23. and his performance does not make up for it either, imo - i really hate the mother.
This scene proves that yes we all have our off days but its how we handle it and they handled it inappropriately
This movie played out so perfectly. Her brother was spot on about everything.
I watched this in netflix yesterday
I think Krista is the cause of all this
Throughout the movie, you can tell the whole family was going through it.
This movie is so underrated
I’m 17 and I relate to her so much
Man people really get on
My nerves in this comment section.
I wouldn't say flawed character, she's a flawed person. two totally different things. I totally agree with you
The moral of this movie is that everybody have their own problems and everybody is trying to fit in
is Darian trying to fit in? yeah he's a try-hard. the worst kind. but Nadine is seriously trying
Honestly, I think Woody Harrelson's character came out looking the best in this film which is odd, because he's usually good at playing the villain in a lot of his movies.
they did a great job with the intro... you immediately think "this teacher is a dick.. of course they got Woody Harrelson to play this mfer" lol
@@michaelone9475 - It's always interesting watching Woody's interviews because he's really just a happy go lucky hippie and then you see his work on the big screen and he's so good at being a no-good SOB. Great actor.
I cried like a baby at this scene
I don’t like the brother but I did think it’s cute how he asked if he could give her a ride home
I would have just bit my tongue for the next 3 years until i could move far enough to forget my family ever existed.
Can’t believe he’s named Durian
Krista had no right to continue a relationship with her bestfriend brother ... she made me so mad in this movie
Nadine is the one who ends the friendship.

am i the only one who was thinking about the baby this whole scene
I still love the brother
You and me both
If this was flipped with a male being in her role the whole movie would be wayyyy different
Stil ashitty brother
Ann Scaria agreed
@@superjackster0165 Robin Williams was one of the most famous actors in the world with millions of fans. He committed suicide because of depression. That's how mental issues work. I get why he needs Krista or whatever, but he says he needs her after they hooked up for one night and started dating togheter. That just doesn't feel like a deep relationship to me.

GREAT BLAKE JENNER AKA BLAKE JENNER AKA DARIAN FRANKLIN PICKING UP HAILEE STEINFELD AKA NADINE FRANKLIN !!!
There are so many issues with each thing that Darien said to Nadine to try and guilt trip her and I’m gonna explain them
And him literally saying "your right, i dont give a shit about you"
God I hate the brother and his girlfriend. What a backstabber.
I don't victimice Darien, I don't feel pity for him. He uses problems to be abusive towards her sister. It's honestly pathetic.
She was treated badly by most people around her and yet she is the one who has apologize.
I just don’t get it.
Like what
Darien goes to the same school.. thought he would know the teacher rather than just call him as ..hey
i know right lmao
It would have been nice if he expressed some awareness of what really went down
Hell nah. You sleep with my best friend we not cool for life
Why did she even care that they were together? I mean yeah I would’ve been surprised but also I don’t care who my brother is seeing
🖤
I honestly don’t like her brother
Maybe I am having trouble picking up on it, but when Darian went back to tell Nadine she's right, was that him confessing he's hurting too, and feels bad for dating her friend because he knows how hard it is for Nadine to witness? Or was he being genuine in the "my life is awesome and I hate you" spiel?
He was definately not genuine.
Appeal to the 13rw crowd and they can't handle it.
Yeah, the mom is meant to be the storm that both kids need to learn to weather.
