    Thank You for every detail and explanation! I watched another video and I wanted to sell the crv the way he went about removing everything! You even had a smile at the end!

    i did mine on the floor. first time i have replaced a clutch. its doable if you don't give up and there was a few moments i got stuck and had to use a lot of time on something that is supposed to be easy. i am not strong enough to lift this transmission by hand so i had to use a strap and a jack to lift it up. it is much easier when you find the center of gravity jacking point under the transmission. it was tricky to get to mount the transmission but it was much easier than uninstalling/installing the starter in my opinion.

    Honda do not want to replace my clutch as a fixed price "Menu Item" 810GBP (as they would normally) due to corrosion on my CVR. I am considering doing myself, but bolt extraction issues worries me. Wonder if you can answer some questions:
    1. How did you fix your bolt thread issue?
    2. Did you use any penetrating oil before or what can I do to help stop bolt problems?
    3. Does the clutch kit LUK contain the centring tool?
    4. Is it necessary to replace the small bronze bearing, as I don't have the special slide hammer?
    5. Do you recommend replacing any suspension components at the same time, if so what?
    5. I plan on doing this on my driveway (I am a good DIY mechanic) do you think this is possible?
    Great video by the way, exactly the correct detail level for someone considering this. Well done, thank you, I have subscribed. I hope business stays good for you Sir.

      Did you ever do this? On your driveway?

    • @jeremyd5527
      @jeremyd5527 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@alexrtsimpson just did this on my 06 crv in the gravel parking spot beside my garage its not a bad job. I would recommend sparying all bolts with pb blaster minimum once the night before you do it. But the real secret to removing seize bolts is heat lots of it, heat them up read hot they will all come out easy. Also this video isnt a good example you dont need to drop the subframe, which means you dont need to remove the ball joint from the knuckle you have plenty of room to let it go out through the bottom with the sub frame on

    • @GSXRMVDUCRD
      @GSXRMVDUCRD 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know that you did this without a lift, heat for removing seized bolts and ESPECIALLY not having to drop the subframe,@@jeremyd5527 . Thanks

    6:14. Engine to transmission bolt got stuck then broke. That SUCKS! What did you do about that? There's 6 bolts total for this engine. So five good ones went back in? Considering that the shank of the bolt was not corroded, the threads must be exposed to the salt from the other side in that particular location. I'll have a look at all six of these bolts on my Element and pre-spray with pentetrating oil before removal.
