@@yeolsyeobo7509yeah the impact that growl has even TODAY is actually kinda insane to not mention it or all the covers that Love shot got by the other idols withim even some years after its release.
@@Maria-jq3mbAgreed. EXO are such legends and have so many iconic songs and choreographies and the fact that there's still so many people that downplay their impact, success and achievements and act like they're an unknown "flop" group is absolutely beyond me.
31:13 First win on music shows! There's about 3 major music shows, one for each major broadcasting station in Korea. When a group debuts or make a comeback- they go preform the song on music shows for a few weeks. Its an important part of promoting the songs. Music show wins are a pretty big deal, it pretty much convinces the company to keep funding the group. That's why people get so worried when a group is 2+ years old and has no wins, they could disband. Like BTS got their first win in 2015 two years after debut. A music show win pretty much certifies that the song is popular in Korea.
The fact is that all these songs were from the golden era & mostly by 2nd & 3rd gen groups. They literally set the standard that everyone sees today in K-pop. 2nd & 3rd gen was so fun, chaotic & diverse.
NCT 127 - Cherry Bomb, NCT 127 - Regular and NCT Dream - Boom please. I'm sad they barely showed much of the songs... NCT has so many incredible songs. 😭
Shinee is also super iconic as a kpop group because they were really the first group who could DANCE. Like, DANCE dance. Before, kpop idols were kinda stereotyped as being very manufactured, that they couldn’t really dance well, and not even sing or dance the best (not that they all were BAD singers, just that Korea viewed kpop as for teenagers, and more about looks that vocal skill/talent - Korea still really loves and prefers ballad singers, and ballad singers usually top the charts more than kpop groups). They were thought to just have pop-y songs without any substance and very basic dancing. Shinee set the bar HIGH and brought not only great, complex choreography and SKILL to the industry. They made it the new industry STANDARD.
When it says first win it means their first win on a music show. So when a song comes out they promote through music shows and at the end they announce a song that won based off of streaming numbers and you can also vote. First win meaning their first time winning on a music show which is always a big deal and a emotional time for artists. Hopefully that helps lol
@@nspreacts I thought I should add that first wins are also big deals for kpop artists because it means they have graduated from nugudom AND they are less at risk of disbandment. A “nugu” group is a kpop group that isn’t well-known or still flying under the radar of public recognition. They could be rookie groups or groups that hang by on a thread for years.“Nugu” in Korean (누구) means “who?” So like if someone says a groups name and almost everyone is like “who’s that??” A first win usually boosts the group’s career by putting them on the map, and also is something their label wants to see as they decide whether or not to continue investing in and supporting that group.
34:09 the reason there are this many kpop songs named pick me is because they're the opening song from the produce series (kpop survival show). the reason its called pick me is because they're telling fans to pick them as their vote
Growl - Korea's 2nd national anthem, every korean knows this song, entered billboard and charts even though social media and mass streaming wasn't a thing back then. Ended the 12 years drought in kpop The First Snow- It's like the "All I Want for Christmas is You" for koreans. It always re enters the charts whenever the first snow in korea falls

The whole "Pick Me" variations are from a survival TV series called "Produce", the different seasons. The viewers need to pick and vote for someone.
The thing winner and wannaone have in common is they were both formed on survival shows. (Wanna one being a part of a season of the famous PRODUCE series that have made a lot of successful groups) Basically in kpop, making a tv show showing different trainees (sometimes from different companies) fight and perform to earn a spot in a final group is a sure fire way to gain attention. (also a lot of these shows have celebrity mentors but advertise that the FANS can vote and pick who will make it to the final group (the produce series actually got caught up in a whole voting manipulation scandal) Winner's show was a little different because it was within the company (kinda like the show Stray Kids were on)- Winner won so they got the name winner, the group that lost is IKON. To make it easy for kpop gens; Gen 1: 90s to early 2000s, beginning of kpop. Gen 2: Groups that debut in the mid-late 2000s who were biggest in the early 2010s! Gen3: debuted in the early-mid 2010's and biggest in late 2010's! (This is BTS's gen) Gen4: Groups that debuted in the late 2010s and early 2020s- our current generation. DKDKTV on TH-cam have a great video about the history of kpop in 20 minutes! It also clarifies the distinctions in each Genn, artists who pioneered and changed the game, and on the culture, social and economic aspect of kpop. (bc as we all know, Kpop is an industry.)
BTS is the only legendary band from 3rd generation. They literally made it capable for kpop to easily enter the us market now. Literally grammy nominated, caused us music shows to open a kpop category, first to perform on the us music shows, spoke an UN and many many many many more. Their own Korean government has stated it's because of BTS why their economy got better, they spread korean culture, gain a lot of tourist attraction and most are there for bts concerts only.
@@selizee729 hahahaha the fact that you only know bts bands is not our problem, come to Korea and understand that many fans and fans here are not only bts) because your bts took examples from other groups and respected)))))) so calm down your fifth point. and so I love the guys, they are cool and talented!
@@selizee729 they're not talking about legendary in the music industry, just in the kpop industry. BTS and exo have the same amount of songs in the top 15 right now on melon (which korean fans use). BTS is far from the only legendary 3rd gen group in kpop, even if they are the most well known.
"So many pick me songs" mnet got like a chain of survival shows, where a bunch of trainees compete and make a final lineup for a debut group. So Produce 101 or Girls/Boys Planet are shows from mnet to make groups with the people voting.
In Korea examination for college is really important- they have this whole list of kpop song that are banned because it can distract the student from studying properly and when you achieve that you know how popular the group or the song is!
The fact that I know at least one video of BTS dancing the choreo of all of these Girl group songs that was in the video is incredible. And a few boy groups as well. How can they remember all the hundreds of dances?!
Boombayah is a truly iconic and legendary song, as it opened Blackpink to the world and is the most viewed debut video among all the artists in the world.
The most famouse song among all these songs in korea is exo growl it called korean anthem and almost every kpop idol dance to the song in his trainy days. There is a saying in korea if someone dont know growl that mean he is spy 😅
the fact that they didn't put heartbeat by 2pm is fucking insane! Like heartbeat & my house had literally THE WHOLE KPOP INDUSTRY doing covers like HELLO?? Istg the disrispect 2pm gets...
First win means they won first place in one (or several) in one of the many chart shows every week. Or the big prize like „song of the year“ at the mma golden disc or Mama. The Big Asian award shows.
Also, you not really considered a „real“ kpop-group unlike or until you have your first win. You basically stay a „noob“ until your first win in one of those chart-shows.
Now let's talk about SM groups. THEY ARE AMAZING as well soloists obviously. SUPER JUNIOR, SHINEE, TVXQ, EXO, NCT, RIIZE, SNSD, f(x), Red Velvet, æspa, BoA, SUPERM, GOT The Beat, S.E.S., H.O.T., Shinhwa, etc... Love them all. Please take otes newer stans. SM artists are proud to say to be an inspiration to other newer idols as well as YG artists. JYP has had amazing artists as well as Wonder Girls, GOT7, 2PM, Jiyoon Park, etc...

The first generation of K-pop included the following... Seo Taiji and Boys (1992-'96). Sechs Kies (1997-2000 & 2016-2021). Baby Vox (1997-'04). Baby Vox were the first girl K-pop group, Diva and S.E.S. formed a few months later. Diva (1997-'05). S.E.S. (1997-2002 & 2016-2017). New Radiancy Group (1997-2005 & 2017-2018). Fin.K.L (1998-2002, 2005, & 2019). Shinhwa (1998-present). Groove Over Dose (1999-2005 & 2014-present)

DKDKTV on TH-cam have a great video about the history of kpop in 20 minutes! It also clarifies the distinctions in each Genn, artists who pioneered and changed the game, and on the culture, social and economic aspect of kpop. (bc as we all know, Kpop is an industry.)
Now the TH-cam after this notification went shine bright like a diamond👌💎✨

BTS is the only legendary band from 3rd generation. They literally made it capable for kpop to easily enter the us market now. Literally grammy nominated, caused us music shows to open a kpop category, first to perform on the us music shows, spoke an UN and many many many many more. Their own Korean government has stated it's because of BTS why their economy got better, they spread korean culture, gain a lot of tourist attraction and most are there for bts concerts only.
@@selizee729okay
@@selizee729 hahahaha the fact that you only know bts bands is not our problem, come to Korea and understand that many fans and fans here are not only bts) because your bts took examples from other groups and respected)))))) so calm down your fifth point. and so I love the guys, they are cool and talented!
@@selizee729 they're not talking about legendary in the music industry, just in the kpop industry. BTS and exo have the same amount of songs in the top 15 right now on melon (which korean fans use). BTS is far from the only legendary 3rd gen group in kpop, even if they are the most well known.
I love it when you all just blew up when Call me baby was played
EXO Growl is still legend
"So many pick me songs" mnet got like a chain of survival shows, where a bunch of trainees compete and make a final lineup for a debut group. So Produce 101 or Girls/Boys Planet are shows from mnet to make groups with the people voting.
OMG B.A.P seriously was one of the most popular group of kpop in 2012 and 2013 i really miss them so much 😢
Red Velvet has one of the most perfect discography's
In Korea examination for college is really important- they have this whole list of kpop song that are banned because it can distract the student from studying properly and when you achieve that you know how popular the group or the song is!
Yo you think the ban thing is real? It's just a MEME. It's an exaggeration expression of an addictive song for fun, not an official ban.
The fact that I know at least one video of BTS dancing the choreo of all of these Girl group songs that was in the video is incredible. And a few boy groups as well. How can they remember all the hundreds of dances?!
Growl by exo the nation anthem ❤️
@29:17 Everglow are too awesome! Check out their songs First, La Di Da, Dun Dun, and Player.
Boombayah is a truly iconic and legendary song, as it opened Blackpink to the world and is the most viewed debut video among all the artists in the world.
WOW
watching this video made me realize that 2017 it really was a good year, all songs were great
NOT THE VIDEO CALLING X1 "THE FUTURE OF KPOP", I'M GONNA CRY
The video maker did exo growl dirty. C'mon growl is national anthem for a reason. Every boyband covered growl and still doing do
Cante como el 99% del video 😂😂😂 desde hace 15 años escuchando kpop, agradezco haber vivido tanta buenas canciones ❤ seo taiji gracias por el kpop.
As a 2nd and 3rd gen stan I adore this list and I miss so many of these groups😭
idk if you ever see this..but if you do..pls check out straykid's hyunjin's call me baby fancam. That song is so satisfying to watch through him
The most famouse song among all these songs in korea is exo growl it called korean anthem and almost every kpop idol dance to the song in his trainy days.
10:08 i chuckled at the tiny booty shakes too hahaha. They did their best with what God gave them OK
So good reaction, I love you guys 🔥🫶🏻😭PKEASE REACTION TO TOP 10 MOST VIEWED KPOP MUSIC VIDEOS EACH YEAR - (2010 to 2023)

The Pick Me songs are from Produce series, the survival show produced by Mnet, Pick Me was like the intro for the program
그들중 파생된 구릅에 아이브, 르세라핌, 워너원, ioi 등등
The person who made this is absolutely right as a person who is a kpop fan even if your young knowing all these songs is a must I was here singing while watching this whole video with all this you would think I would have been a kpop fan since the 1st gen
19:19 of course you haven’t wanna one debuted where all them members came from a survival show and the groups that debut on the show usually have just a 2 year contract and for that two years there was no way you didn’t know the name wanna one I suggest you react to them
29:49 izone also came from the same show as wanna one they were also around for two years too hence you haven’t heard of them izone disband more recently I suggest reacting to both groups two izone members also redebuted in lesserafhim others debuted solo
36:27 btob is very much able to the were on kingdom with groups stray kids, ateez, sf9, the boyz, ikon despite the fact that they debuted so long ago most of these groups members are still young because they debuted crazy young some members of girl generation, shinee etc are still active
Yes you should definitely check Girl's Generation(SNSD)out they are just queens of kpop ❤
The first generation of K-pop included the following...

Diva (1997-'05).

New Radiancy Group (1997-2005 & 2017-2018).

Yeahhh we need this
Up
Yes pls
the pick me songs are theme songs of idol producer tv shows, which are very popular in korea. these shows take many trainees of many different kpop companies and have them compete to be in temporary (usually 2 years) groups.
Good to know.
thanks for reacting to that video! it was super fun :') Only thing that video is missing was highlighting how famous Wanna One was during their active years (2017-2019). They were MASSIVE and went straight to the top competing with BTS and EXO. I was a fan of all 3 groups but Wanna one was dominating in popularity.
I miss them everyday lol :')))
Ahh i need to you are guys reaction bigbang more😭
When guy in the middle said he never heard of monsta x,, i cried a little
14:42 the way you all got exited ahahaha love it ❤😂
EXO❤❤❤
dude in blue serious af🤷🏽♂️ like damn bro, its kpop☠️🙏🏽
y'all really gotta start asking for links because I don't know bout everyone else but this wasn't the video I was referring to when I commented most iconic Kpop songs reaction
No shinhwa Perfect Man, no Boa no.1 and only 2 BTS songs is crazy. Who made this vid? lmaooo
as for BTS, the most iconic song imo should have been fire, too many boys groups have covered it.
And it's gonna be the same list with the 7th sense added and no BTS . I watched that video it's even worse
fantastic baby got me into kpop
these guys are exo-ls for sure LOVE IT!!!
36:27 just wanna add that they have comebacks. The video just showed one iconic song and also a different side of them, since they are known just for vocals and ballads; Btob, exo, shinee and mamamoo are known for the amazing live vocals.
