  • This video is a bit of a long one, but is very informative and shows that I encounter plenty of issues when working on my projects and do my best to make it work.
    These glamorous coasters give different shades of purple, lovely florals, and of course all the shiny stuff. If your style is more understated and less busy, feel free to leave out some of the decorations that I added.
    As always, if you are ever interested in purchasing any of the items from my videos, be sure to check out my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/beautiesbyb...
    Products used in this video:
    - ZDSSticky Resin
    - Castin' Craft white pigment paste (I determined this was NOT the reason my resin changed colors)
    - Purple mica powder
    - Pebeo Cerne Outliner and Prisme Fantasy liquid
    - Washi tape flower petals (Amazon)
    - Purple washi tape (Amazon)
    - Various glitters from Lrisy
    - DecoArt DuraClear Satin Varnish

    Those turned out really pretty! To get the straight lines, you could lay a popsicle stick or ruler across the mold and rest the tip of the liner against it as you go. 😉

    Excellent, informative video! Very detailed in explaining what is used for what, etc. Also, your voice gives me serious ASMR - so relaxing!!!!!!!! I absolutely love these coasters.

    They're made all the more pretty when you see how much hard work goes into making them. ❤️

    I decided to subscribe because I saw another one of your videos using color shifting with the feather mold. Then with this one today, I felt like I wanted to do my part to support you! Thank you!

    Can you do a tutorial on those pendants you showed in this video? They were absolutely gorgeous

      Sure! I've been going back and forth on showing that process since it is quite tedious, but will definitely do one now that I know there is an interest. I will do my best to keep it interesting lol

    I don’t know if you still have the coasters or not but if you do, or next time, try hitting them with a hot air gun. I find that that will unstick them enough that you can pry them apart and then let them cure the rest of the way separately.
    Take care and stay safe!

    Really nice! what kind of varnishes can we use on resin? Does?n't the marker need sealing

    • @resinwithme1854
      @resinwithme1854  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is one is a polyurethane varnish and is the only one I have tried this far, but I think an acrylic varnish might work as well. I may have to test that out!

      Oh, and to answer about the paint marker, you absolutely can add another coat of resin to seal it in. I am always eager to finish, so I do not add it. It is pretty difficult to remove, and I have found that it really only comes off with oily substances. But to make it 100% permanent, yes, add another coat.

    Were you able to determine what caused the gray color?

    • @resinwithme1854
      @resinwithme1854  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have to think it was the purple powder. It was a cheaper set that I purchased from Amazon. It most definitely was not the resin or Castin' Craft paste since I have used both of those since, and no discoloration occurred.

      @@resinwithme1854 Oh I see. Gotcha. I have a random question also. Do you know why popsicle stick/toothpick lines are staying in the bottom part of my resin piece and on the silicone mold itself? Am I using the popsicle stick/toothpick too hard or something?

    • @resinwithme1854
      @resinwithme1854  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aarfan44 Most likely, yes. If you press too hard, you might indent or scratch your mold, and that will always leave an indent/scratch on your resin piece :( I wouldn't suggest using a regular toothpick. There are some silicone brushes that come with a pointed side on Amazon that would be a great alternative, I actually just ordered some for myself!
