Also, one of us (me and my opponent) is going to take a shitload of game actions. The other person isn’t. Hopefully it’s me That’s a kind of magic I can appreciate
You should not have conceded to bauble R1G3. If you top deck a dark ritual, you win and they can’t even force you. This deck can still do most things through a bauble.
BOSH PACK I GOT LOCKED OUT OF MY APARTMENT BUT IM STILL BLASTING THAT BOSH PACK UP AND DOWN THE BLOCK MY NEIGHBORS DOGS ARE ALL BARKING AT ME AND I FORGOT TO SMOKE MY PACK BEFORE GOING OUT BUT MY PARTNER IS ON THEIR WAY HOME WITH THE KEYS SMOKE EM IF YOU GOT EM
This deck is evolving fast. NecroD is still pretty much brand new and there are two major revisions to the list in today's video - the introduction of Serum Powder for consistency and shifting to Brain Freeze as a win-con over Tendrils. It's fun to be a part of.
I heard about the Haywire Mite punt from the other side from a mutual, but it only just occurred to me who he meant when he said "Brian"! It feels a little less bad knowing it at least got you a Black Lotus.
I saw this deck on your Moxfield and decided to play out some test hands to see if it was something I wanted to proxy up to play with some friends. My first hand was a t1 necro - great! I hit the “no borne in the top 26” fail rate, and I realized that I’m simply not cut out for this level of all-in combo
Thanks for the video Brian. I recorded with this deck yesterday and had a somewhat similar experience. I have played 5-6 leagues now. I think I have one 3-2 and the rest have been 2-3 or worse. I’m surely not playing optimally but it has made me think this deck is not particularly worrisome for the format
Often when you play, i can pause the video and think about the turn and come up with a similar play. But turn 1/storm decks is just another flavor of mind-puzzles
Is this really that much better than the old Spanish Inquisition lists that played eight lose-half-life-draw-four cards? They didn't require Born Upon the Wind.
Thanks for another great video Brian. I know there's a lot of hype around Necrodominance but I think between Bryant, yourself and Tony I haven't seen any reason why you'd want to play this over Oops tbh. This deck seems so fragile that it folds to splash hate that's there for other decks/incredibly easy to hate out. Here's to hoping there's a more resilient or consistent shell to be found either now or in the future because it's a sweet card
I think the primary appeal is that it isn't weak to graveyard hate, which Oops is. That said, I suspect that Necrodominance, if it ever gets broken enough to be banned, will actually break in a "fair" deck with dark rituals like the very first Necropotence decks back in the 90's. We've reached a point where engines aren't actually the biggest problem for combo decks to solve, it's protecting the combo. Meanwhile, the tempo decks like Delver are always just a card advantage engine away from being broken because individual card quality has gone way up since the 90's.
Notice that decks tend have cards in their sideboard that would beat their own strategy. So this deck has Nature's Claim in it, which is a great counter to opposing Necro decks. If you look at any deck list, you'll see this kind of tip off. Helps with theorycrafting and metagaming to know this.
In other words, because the deck builder is so intimately familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of their own strategy, there can be a (oftentimes subconscious) tendency to shore up one's own fear--getting defeated by your own busted thing, which you just so happen to know how to stop.
Is it just me or is it wrong to think, "If I'm always blind sideboarding in a specific way to best hedge my bets against possible opponents, shouldn't I just have my deck set up in the blind sideboard to begin with?" I know he didn't choose the numbers, but maybe there's an argument Veil of Summer should be in the main
Seems like at least in bosh's approach the veil was for blind + on the draw, which is what you are going to be if you're blind game 2. But if you don't know yourself to be on the draw where chancellor is worse, then you want the maindeck?
re: boarding with no information game 2. my gut says try to go robust through hate rather than trying to guess what angle of interaction they will take. interaction increases the fail rate and guessing wrong seems worse than not boarding at all. between proactive permanents and reactive spells, theres too much diversity to account for. maybe I should watch more storm decks
Both Belcher and Oops All Spells have been in Legacy for years and neither has broken the metagame. Hell, Oops is probably better now that it has more options for MDFCs and maintains better disruption. It's just another turn 1 glass cannon combo deck, and potentially not even the best one. Unless Necrodominance breaks a fair shell or the combo deck gets way better, I suspect it won't be catching a ban.
Was enjoying the video until you conceded round 1 game 3 where drawing dark ritual just wins the game. Literally a %7.5 you can resolve a necro against a silenced opponent.
One time I played Bryant and he said "I could have gone for it turn 1 but you looked like a blue player". I was on DnT 33:22
Something juicy about seeing a 40 minute video on a t1 focused deck.
We here for a good time not a long time.

I also think bringing in foundation breaker is a good thing to do in the blind sideboard games because it solves a lot of problem board states.

Bosh pack has been an active part of me and my siblings joke rotation for like a month now thank you for all you’ve done for the world.

I like how this decklist looks relatively budget friendly in terms of competitiveness
No reserved list!

I loved the cross over you did with Phil during the early access. Would love to see more co -labs between you guys in the future!
I'd personally love to see a hysterically over-metagamed grudge match between the two.
Unfortunately I'm too broke to make it happen.
New intro kicks ass!!
23:43 that is an epic idea! I would pay for that kind of information
Would love to see a pimped out, foiled out Japanese deck like that in paper 👌
I wonder if Bryant Cook thought of this. He'd be good at it
Tony said in the vid its 70% turn 1 win not 90%. I believe it was 80% if you have more gas and no pact of negations
drinking game : take a shot everytime bryan says "turn 1 protected win"
Just started following the Eternal Glory podcast on Spotify. Great stuff
There’s so only so much fun to be had in one game of magic, and I want to have all of it!
whooo!!! i love this deck so much, im hyped to see you play it!!!
if a bosh pack is thine, summon the storm of smoke and let chaos reign supreme

what an awesome use of summoners pact
I was waiting for the Bosh to cover this deck! Glad to see the video’s only 40 minutes 😈

I get the feeling this can be optimized further to increase win rate vs free spells.
there's a SD Legacy scene?
I’m trying to figure this out as well pmao
Tc’s Rockets, Tuesday legacy pulls 16+, Friday legacy pulls 6+
Is this really that much better than the old Spanish Inquisition lists that played eight lose-half-life-draw-four cards? They didn't require Born Upon the Wind.
That’s a graveyard deck. It’s just doing something different.
I really really wanna build this deck because all im missing is the Necros, but im fairly certain necro is gonna get banned

Yooooo! San Diego rep lego! Our scene is pretty strong. Claire don't bring this doo doo to Tuesday night please, lmfao.
What store do you guys play at? Just curious where the legacy scene is. Would love to play locally!
40 min Bosh video, he must be on combo 😂
Bryant is going to be so mad about the stolen branding of the new Black Belcher.
I’m waiting for the day someone guy shots a necro deck to win
@Claire Woo!
San Diego...Lets go!!!
What store is the legacy scene at??
Tc’s Rockets, Tuesday legacy pulls 16+, Friday legacy pulls 6+
These decks need necrologia as necrodominance 5-6
What happens if, instead of better protection in the side, you just play fast mana payoffs like Shepldred and stuff?

This is a good skill to exercise in developing meta games as it can get you to tune your deck properly to each new meta faster.

@@Michael-Hammerschmidtit’s also that your opponent isn’t blind boarding, so you should expect to face more answers than in r1.

Why wizards thought making another necro type card was smart and one that draws 19 they go ohhhh you get them at end step cause that matters

Why Chrome mox and opal on sideborard?
To go faster in combo mirrors or when you're on the play vs. prison.
