Been a big fan of the channel for several years (was even one of the returning people from the 100th video submission)Your budget film-making is super admirable and it's been awesome to see how it's managed to evolve over time. Like you said, you have fun making it that energy shows through in the product. Happy to see you still on the saddle despite the hardship.

I’m impressed with how accurate you got it, almost looks like the official mascot costume.

Man, hearing you talk about the footage being lost and therefore feeling like your passion is fading away from one misstep, I’ve been there man. It’s tough but at the end of day, despite the obstacles if you keep going and power through you will get somewhere in the end, and that’s exactly what you and Donnie did and I’m proud of you both because of that. (Sorry if I misspelled his name btw haha)

Can I say? I really appreciate that you still acknowledge your old videos. A lot of creators try to bury their old content after they've improved their craft.
I get the impression that you're always trying to improve. Oh, and fantastic Ratchet costume by the way. The furry in me loves how much effort was put into it haha.

    • @SquareEyedJak
      @SquareEyedJak  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

Fun fact: acknowledging old shitty content in new stuff usually sparks interest for people to go back and give it clicks and comments like "anyone here after this?" which helps the algorithm ahaha!!! 😉
(well it would if the interest was substantial enough)
But yeah I'm proud of my journey, some stuff has been unlisted but majority can still be found!

Wow man, that section about loosing the footage and seeing the spark gone really hit home man. I am so glad you have Donnie to get ya through it, but then to move straight into that touching moment about him was like a 1 2 punch, not gonna lie, little teary eyed. Here's to 10 more years of SEJ, but more importantly here's to 100 more years of happiness and creative endeavours that fuel that glint in your eyes.

The Ratchet costume really accentuates my appreciation for great costume design, which can go a long way for a production.
However, that moment of needing to start from scratch due to something out of your control? I believe that's something we can all relate to, and having to start all over can really lead to burnout, something that I've definitely felt once or twice, but it is important that we learn to pick ourselves back up whenever we fall.
You've gone above and beyond for the production of the Ratchet & Clank reviews! While it may be a while before the rest of the series is covered, I'm definitely looking forward to what's next!

It's crazy to see how much you have improved over the years. The first video I found of you was the Wrath of Cortex video. It's wild to me that I have been watching you for 10 years. I hope you keep going for at least another 10 years Jak!

Your videos are so damn inspiring, man. Really makes me wanna do more stuff like this. The end products speak for themselves, but when you do get that real drive and passion to make something, you just HAVE to capitalise on it, because as you know, it is fleeting.
But I love watching all your behind the scenes videos. It really makes you appreciate how much work goes into stuff like this and it's criminal that your channel doesn't get more attention.

The two of you are excellent humans, and the final project was a great collaborative effort!
The gut punch segment hit hard. I often feel that way, especially lately. Seems like an unfortunate inevitably with folk trying to make things on this website at times...
Loved the Ratchet videos though, and especially this BTS of them. You both did great 👍

Heck yeah! Missed these behind the scenes videos. 😄The AVGN styled skit stuff throughout this review trilogy was definitely a very welcomed return to form. The amount of effort you put into these is insane. It's what I strive for with my own content, and I've always wanted to do a similar kinda thing, but life has been getting in the way of that for me the past few years. 😛 But these larger scale videos you do has been a massive inspiration for me personally in that regard. Just know that even through all the ups and downs, and even if you don't do these types of videos as often anymore, know that whenever you do, the effort and passion you put into them doesn't go unnoticed. Love to see it man! Keep up the awesome work, and here's to another 10 years. 😄

Love these BTS videos and seeing the process of how it's all done. I'm so sorry to hear about your camera shitting the bed during that first take. I'm glad you worked your way around it and everything. And thank you for all these years of entertainment and reviews. I hope your channel grows more and more as the months go by. I'm rooting for you to reach 100k subs by the end of the year as well! Cheers!

I always enjoyed watching your behind the scenes videos (even if they barely got much traction). I would often rewatch your making of videos for stuff like the Hawktober specials, Legends of WrestleMania, and of course your 100th episode. Just being able to see portions of the videos in an incomplete state and hearing the small stories of how they reached the end result was always fascinating for me. Here’s to another 200 episodes.

It's always fun seeing these behind the scenes videos from you because you can just feel the dedication, passion, and creativity that goes into your reviews. I will admit that I did miss the more physical skits that you used to do back in the day and it's part of what made the Ratchet & Clank reviews from you so fun to watch because they were a throwback to those older reviews even though I totally understand why you don't do them as often because of how exhausting and prone to injury they can be. Not saying I dislike the more essay style approach you did like with the GTA series, just that there's a special charm about the old AVGN inspired style that is so endearing.
With the Ratchet costume itself, that's so cool that it was done by a mascot maker as opposed to a fursuit maker, it turned out pretty good with all the DIY fixings as well. And the wrench looked really nice as well, you do have a keen eye for prop making. Also Donny was a good sport partaking in the review as well, very nice stuff.
The part thought where the camera malfunctioned, I could feel the pain in that but just remember that technical things like that happen all the time, it's the drawback of technology after all so it wasn't your fault.
Overall like I mentioned in the review themselves, as a long time watcher who was waiting for the day you would touch R&C, it was well worth the wait as even though it was a long one, I'd rather you did these reviews when you felt ready for them and especially had an idea. I'm sorry they didn't blow up as much as you had hoped but us old fans really did appreciate it.
That said, definitely looking forward to what you have in store for this year~

      Thanks so much! 😊
I would still love to do more skit stuff but I'm at a point mentally (and physically) where is takes too much of a toll. If I was in a position to have a small team working on videos with me, then I might be able but I'm still a one man crew (plus Don of course) and man, it sucks how easily I get burned out these days!
Appreciate you always sticking around and I hope you're well!

@@SquareEyedJak You're very welcome and hey no worries, I totally understand because again, I know that those physical skits could really take a lot out of someone, especially when it's not being with a team so it's all good. We always have the old reviews to relive those moments haha.

While you finally covered Ratchet And Clank, I'm at the last bit of the Sly Trilogy which I had never played during the PS2 era.
And I think Sly 3 is the best one.

Hey! I gotta say, it was a BLAST to watch this video! 😃 It passed up so quickly! 👀 I always love watching your "Making of" videos! They just shows pure creativity and fuels me to create things as well! 🤩✨ The costume is simply amazing! 🧡 As you explained the approaches you had within the 3 video, it made more sense to me and this was really a throwback to your Sly/Croc/Macho Man/Ty days! 😏 Diving into the reasons of why you put off Ratchet games for so long and your partner being a stepping stone to finally lead you create these videos are very, very sweet and closes a chapter that was open for a very long time. 😊 Additional props you've created was both very beautiful and inspiring to watch! ✨ Thank you so much to you and your partner for this 3 amazing reviews! 👏🏻🤗
I follow you for a long time and learned about some of your struggles as you eventually shared it with us but the part of the video where you expressed yourself that you sometimes feel like a fuck up was so damn real AND sad! You need to know, you can NEVER be a fuck up when there are SO MANY people that you INSPIRE when it comes to expressing yourself, thinking critically, creating, collecting, growing together, just enjoying other people's creations and so on... 🙏🏻 I don't have many people who shares the same level of love and appreciation to games and I know that I always have you whenever I want to! 👀 There are so many days where I feel like "Oh, I'm in the mood to watch some Crash or Spyro." And I'm like "I know what to do!" and just come to your chanel to watch your episodes or your live streams. 😀 Let me tell you, ever since you posted your Twinsanity live streams, I at least watched those 2 videos more than 10 times! I can recite what you will say! 😁 They're just THAT GOOD to watch! ✨ So please, despite the ups and downs that you mentioned along with life altering situations that happens around you, there is so many people out there that loves you, thinks about you and watches you. Even when you're asleep. 💚 It's clear that you bust your ass, put your heart and soul! ✍🏻💪🏻💖🙌🏻 You are extremely underrated! I know that as much as emotional support we can give to you, you also need good numbers when it comes to getting your worth. So here's my hopes that one day, you will blow up and gain many more dedicated people who will be there for you to help you feel completely fulfilled! 🙏🏻🌏 So there is no way that you are what you think you are in your dark times. No way! 🙅🏻‍♂️ Thank you so much for your time and amazing, lovely, exciting works that you share. 💛 Can't wait to grow one more year with you and see what you will bring more to the table in 2025! ✨👏🏻 Much love, light, strength and respect. 💚🙌🏻🤗💜
