this is so amazing, I have watched it at least 20 times, just can't get over the compositions, color, sound, camera movements, etc etc etc just beautiful!
My only personal critique would be a little on the pacing. Feels a bit in-between at times. A lot of fast cuts, but sometimes too many of the same length. I would have liked to hold on to some of those great compositions for that release. Such as that little lead in to 0:16 . But, I appreciate you are going for quick ad vibe. I'm just a sucker for a longer shot and a little more sensation of narrative flow. Top work! @@vincentcolorfilm
Font choice threw me off, I feel like uniqlo is synonymous with a more understated white sans-serif font for the subtitles. But beside that, I think the ad is great
Thank you so much! I made the music during the edit process. I just posted a video about how we shot this spec commercial and I am making a new video about this edit and grading process.
Hey Nick. I am really happy to hear that you like it! Yes open the second note, the compound note (right click, show compound note). Then go to the second note (color space transform) and change the input gamma to Sony S-Log3. Then exit the compound note, go the the Lin to LogC note on the top right. Leave the input gamma on Linear and change the Output gamma to Sony S-Log3.
Can someone explain to me the reasoning for the slo mo kind of motion blur low shutter shots? I see this artistic technique used a fair amount in filmmaking. I am a beginner photographer so I don't know if it is one of those situations with the battle between film vs digital which in the beginning I was so perplexed as to why shoot film (now I fully understand why). But I don't understand this filmmaking technique yet like is it done in post or by using a high frame rate and low shutter? It just kind of feels janky to me especially when mixed inbetween high quality cinematographic shots
Low shutter speed + low framerate shots often used to convey something that is dreamlike, a flashback, etc. As for its use in this video, I'd personally agree with you in the fact that it breaks the flow otherwise present between the shots. Definitely preference/creative liberty.
This is perfection. Every movement, lighting setup and focal lengt choise seems so well thought trough. Flows extremely well, super impressing
Thank you so much for nice compliments, I really appreciate it!

This is so wicked! Did you work on the edit first, then try to find music to match, or vice versa?
