I Made this one back before Ka 27 had the anti ship missiles, so the intended design was for players to use the K493 to sink the missile boats. Using SSN14s on the udaloy also had potential, but was definitely a risky choice.
Flogger 1 hit Flogger 2 with AA-7C, it reads at 20:44 in the video. The air in this game is the most micromanagey thing ever if you don't want it to all suicide/kill friendlies
It seems like both Floggers attempted to fire a missile, since a missile from Flogger 1 is seen tracking the bomber after Flogger 2 is already hit. My guess is Flogger 2's missile detonated upon dropping..
Just curious, once the bomber launched, wouldn't it be an idea to put your convoy on a different course to perhaps get out of the missiles' targeting search come cone?
It would help to a certain extent but wouldn't really do much due to the speed limit of the convoy itself, although Stealth could've use his last MiG to maybe shoot down some of the harpoons to help with the air defense a bit

12:00 please don't drop your sonar buoy in front of a sub, first it's not very Stealthy(pardon), second you want to hear the sub and not boob it's nose, subs have a sensible nose and don't like to be touched there. @@Stealth17Gaming Back in Cold Water you could see where they were dropped, I presumed that they would keep it that way. But you can most definitely hear a helo "in the dip", I've no idea if this is modeled in-game. Give me a sec, I'll test the AI a bit in that matter.
@@Stealth17Gaming An AI sub will attack or shaddow a player ship, but completly ignore any helo actions until a torpedo hits the water. Go on then, boop the nose ;)

tbh with those old missile it isn't terribly unrealistic, the wingman was in the firing arc of the Flogger 1

Loving watching this game. Reminds me of Jane's Fleet Command back in the 90's. It was a follow up to Jane's 688i which was also a lot of fun.

Not sure if submarines can actually hear sonobuoys getting dropped. I've never had it happen in-game, you?

@@daviniusb6798 Thanks for verifying my theory. Subs can't seem to hear sonobuoy splashes nor helicopters. Maybe that'll change later.
