Bei der Extrusion werden Aluminium-Pressbarren unter hoher Temperatur und unter Druck kontinuierlich aus einer formgebenden Öffnung herausgepresst. Dabei werden nach Kundenbedarf gewünschte Formate erreicht. Die Extrusion ist ein häufig gesehenes Verfahren. Dank der physikalischen Eigenschaften wird ein extrudierter Kühlkörper sehr häufig verwendet die Abwärme abzuführen, dass elektronische Geräte maximale Leistung und Zuverlässigkeit erreichen.

small strands, if too small for a die, can be formed by cold working extrusion (like wire drawing)
