In this video, the award-winning Master Luthier Vasile Gliga - known as Stradivarius of Romania describes the beauty of this masterpiece, 4/4 (Full size) BAROQUE Violin. This Virtuoso Violin enhances the unicity and sophisticated craftsmanship of the Marquetry, besides being handmade using traditional methods from the most selected Carpathian Solid Wood: Resonance Spruce from the Gurghiului Mountains in Transylvania used to handcraft the Top of the violin, and Highly-flamed Maple or Curly Sycamore from the same “Italian Valley” used to hand carve the back, sides and the neck.
The back of this special violin has a stunning flame reflecting perfectly the cats’ eye effect, a highly prized essence wood for violinmakers. And appreciated by the maestro level musicians, soloists because of the fantasy of the luminous streak of reflected light that is always perpendicular to the direction of the fibers.
We present you a UNIQUE Violin with Hand Inlay Purfling, an exquisite combination of the exotic hardwood Ebony and delicate white bone powder. It has fantastique decorations on the sides, and also on the fittings. The fingerboard is hand-carved from very rare and dense Brazilian Massaranduba hardwood, with exotic Ebony wood hand inlaid on the playing area. Also, the fingerboard features special marquetry on the edge where we can identify a unique and very fine hand inlay purfling decoration by combining the ornamental hardwood Ebony with the white bone powder. This design is expressed in the same minutest detail on the chinrest and tailpiece, too. This is specific for the Baroque Era.
The sides and the scroll enjoy a Magnifique Inlay - Copy of Hellier. The famous Italian violin maker Stradivarius created on the Golden Age of Violinmaking one similar masterpiece dedicated to Ludovic XIV - King of France.
