I do a lot of buy/sell/trade of auction lots. I ended up with a Peavey PVi2 mic in a lot of stuff, and it's a VERY respectable mic, coming out strong against ANY mic in the price range. What mic works for a particular voice may vary, but the Peavey mics are solid tools to have in your arsenal.
I've been using some peavey mics, and honestly, the emphasis on low end response is a great creative tool. Shure mics are phenomenal, but they offer a clear sound, which is a blank canvas. You can make a work of art, but the peavey mics offer a more sonically diverse recording. This is all simply opinion and the opinion of an amateur at that, so take my comment with a grain of salt
I need a cm1 vs sm86 video! I was drooling over the sm86, and then just happened on the cm1. Its basically hidden in the 'specialty mic' section, but also a cardiod condenser in a live music friendly case. I think they'd be a good head to head comparison.
I'm a fan of both Brand but my expérience I was doing sound for a church They didn't have a lot money and Buy Peavey 50$ great mic but their not as durable! And in the END i buying Shure sm 58 ! And shure sm58 beta !
Mr.John I use the PVM-50 after going through five SM 58s through the years. It really does sound better and it is cheaper. I also use the PVM 45ir on my guitar cabinets because it sounds better than a 57 and it is also cheaper. The Peavey’s have a much sweeter low mid character in them and they retain the presence without the shure tin can sound. I have no horse in this race so to speak. I’ll choose a Peavey every time. You can find videos of me playing live singing through the PVM-50 under Gene Fenton on here in the band RUST.
So Your saying the Peavey is a better value because you get the stand and mic cable with it, Who makes the stand and who makes the mic cable? My guess is the stand is some peace of cheap crap made in china and well as the cable, So what is the cost/value of the mic without the stand and cable and what is the handling noise of the Peavey mic compared to the Shure. Sorry I don't base the quality product or value because it comes with accessories. Mic stand choice... K&M and mic cable choice... either Canare, Mogambi or Belden

ha Ha ! Now have a Shure rep speak into each Mic and see which one is "better"
MrCR500AF I prefer the PVM-50 these days. It just sounds better.
Peavey vs shure.. Who win?

I am sure, shure
Eu tenho um Peavey vintage ele é muito melhor que Shure e a malha dele é metática segundo a loja que comprei foram feito apena 60 unidades.
Tem um Review?
Shure made in Mexico and peavey made in China under license from peavey

That’s fair, but I bought a combo package back in the day and the stand is more solid than the mic lol
I should've guessed lol you're selling for peavey they're all cheaper and better right? What a scam!
Shill. Test with company rep is extremely weak move.
