Yeah, this game's absolutely loaded with movie parodies. From Clockwork Orange (opening, ending), to Terminator (the haybale), to Jaws (the catfish bit), Nosferatu, Van Helsing (the horror segment) Saving Private Ryan (the war chapter), The Matrix (Bank heist), and Alien (final boss). Might've missed a few more even.

Fun story: Conker Live and Reloaded was the first game I ever played to completion. I was 7. By far the most traumatizing parts were the squirrel internment camps/Teddie Labs and obviously THE FUCKING COUNT DRACULA BLOOD INFLATION GRINDER DEATH SCENE... oh and the fucking gears...

I remember once, when I was going to a store, I saw a couple squirrels jumping from tree to tree, even sometimes jumping onto people's houses. I was watching them as I walked. One missed a branch, fell and hit the ground hard. It died, sadly. I was reminded of this story when Vinny said "Conker, you have terrible fall damage."

I love this game as one of my favorites but i'm glad i discovered it as a kid when i had much more patience. Because now i'm used to this game's control awkwardness and i can play it without problems, but i can see how a new player would get frustrated by it.

Not quite. Rare started making Conker as a light hearted family friendly game. However when they first announced it they got a lot of flack for doing nothing but light hearted family friendly games. They got so frustrated they decided to turn the game into the exact opposite and this is the result.

2:04 Vinny made a good point. I"ve loved this game since I was 7 and not once have I ever questioned it. Considered how fast this story was writen that probably saved them a shit ton of hours. Conker told us pressing B was always going to be usefull to the situation so me and my friends just rolled with it. Mordern games could seriously learn a thing or two about this game.
Seriously. If you like this game you should check out the history behind it. It's amazing.

I question why they didn't release an uncensored version of Live and Reloaded on Rare Replay. Especially since they used the X-box remakes/ports for Perfect Dark and Banjo. I mean, it controls like ass regardless of platform, but surely a version made for the og X-box would play a _little_ better than a straight N64 port.

While it is a classic for being an m rated platformer, Conker might actually be Rares worst 3D platformer. Tooie, Kazooie, DK 64 and then Conker as rock bottom.
One of the most memorable but definitely not the best designed.
Conker is a jack of all trades but a master of none.
It introduces so many different gameplay styles but never fleshes them out enough for them to get interesting. The moment you get used to one mechanic, it's already on to the next one.
And since none of the mechanics are used for very long, they didn't get polished enough to feel intuitive and smooth.
After watching this, maybe Live and Reloaded wasn't a bad remake after all...
