This is by far my favorite cowl pattern! I've used fine yarn like you did here, but also used weight 4 yarn and just today finished one with chunky yarn that I made much shorter. It's perfect! Thank you for this pattern and tutorial!
Question, when you made it with the 4 weight yarn, how did it turn out? When you made it with the 4 weight yarn, were you able to also pull some of it up so you could wear it as a hood?
A Tip: When chaining long chains, take the hook out after a chain of 4 and insert it at the end and continue chaining with the end of the chain this way it won't twist at the end of your long chain.
I made this cowl and it is gorgeous... the yarn is so soft and Jennifer, you were right in about the nice drape to it. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this tutorial.
Made this today and tagged you on Instagram. The cowl is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you Jennifer! Please make more of this particular kind of drape-y, luxurious cowls. Loved making this one, can’t wait to start wearing it soon!
Beautiful cowl, can't wait to try it. I love the fact that you provide the patterns. I have made several of your projects and they are simply fantastic and easy to follow.
Finished this last week and it turned out beautifully. I used I skein of Sirdar shawlie yarn in color hydrangea. Thank you for the easy/clear instructions.
You did a great job explaining how to work the pattern. And thank you for leaving a long enough tail for weaving in!s. I see so many crochet videos where they leave a 2-inch tail and then they can’t weave it in enough to make sure it’s stable and won’t come out later. So I really appreciate that you do that correctly, and you also did a good job of weaving in correctly (another thing that is often done wrong on other videos). I hope to see more from you in the future because you’re a good instructor.
And yet another very pretty pattern. My fingers don't do well with sock weight yarns. I would go to a 3 weight. I love my Furls hook. I have the same color.
I get so OCD about this kind of join. I'm so glad you took the time to zoom in and really teach it for beginners! Some crocheters are not as diligent and then have a mess at the end of the round!!
Love that hook! I have the peach in 4mm!!! It was a splurge that I treated myself to because I’ve been crocheting more and more and more for gifts and sometimes to sell.
Hi Fiberflux I have tried this pattern and made a cowl for my friend. I uploaded a short in youtube saying inspired by Fiberflux cowl. Thank you so much.
Okay... i wasted no time. I love a great yarn and i I love this pattern look, so I had to see this yarn for myself. I just ordered the same yarn that you used in white to indigo... I can’t wait to make this!!!
Sylvia- I ordered it from the Global Backyard Industries website. There are a few different colors and packages to choose from. Found it pretty easily by searches no Deluxe Sock from their search bar.
Thanks for the Tutorial, I'm not good reading patterns. I wrote what you said as I watched 🙌🙌. I'm going to try this but the smallest yarn I have is a 3. Love watching you 💖
Very pretty Jennifer! Love the V stitch! You have made a lot of beautiful items using it! When I weave in the ends I weave it back and forth 3 times. I’ve heard it’s some rule, lol Thanks for sharing!
Vielen Dank für die wunderschönen Häkelmuster . Sie erklären alles sehr gut und ich frische mein Schulenglisch wieder auf . ❤ Grüße aus Deutschland und liebe Grüße an King Charles the 3 . 😊
I have 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn (2x50g / 175yds) total 350 yds. Could I use this pattern even if the cowl is a bit shorter? The yarn is hand painted 100% merino, totally gorgeous, but it was a gift and I am unable to purchase more. If not this cowl, what else could I contemplate with this amount of yarn? Please and thank you 🌹
The yarn you used is beautiful! I wonder if it’s possible to use the iris or fan stitch with this design? I can’t wait to get started on this pattern! Thank you for sharing!!❤️
I started to do it exactly the way Jennifer say, but after some rounds I realize it iz a bit bigger around: 32 inches, can it be because of the yarn? I am using Red heart amethyst med 4, I think I am going to start it over and measure it 24 inches around
Love this design ... don’t have sock yarn in my stash. Could I used any 4 weight yarn. If so, should I decrease the amount of chains for foundation row.
I am really excited for this project, however this yarn is unavailable to me. I do have access to cascade 220 DK or sport yarn. Would really welcome some direction as to adjustment of the pattern size, hook etc. Thanks for a lovely tutorial
This is a beautiful scarf! Just curious, how long did it take to make? I started one as well (inspired by this video), and have worked on it for 3 days so far, and am only 1/3 of the way done. Just curious if the pace is about right or if I’m just working slowly. I am new to crocheting though 😊
Thanks for another great pattern Jennifer! I need to post pics of the spring shawl cal and the summer dishcloths cal I've done, as soon as I can figure out how lol. I've ordered a skein of yarn from Global Backyard for a similar cowl. ♡ your videos!
I love the color and texture of the yarn you used for this video! But I can't find it anywhere!!! Where did you buy it?? Is the company still in business and do they still have that particular color yarn???
What weight was that yarn? I have a skein of #1 super fine yarn that I would love to use for this pattern but I’m worried it might be too thin? And would a 6mm hook be too big?
Hi I love the crochet hook that you are using. I have looked at the website that you have shown, but cannot see that particular hook for sale. I would like one with the aluminium shaft, and the pearlised handle. Do you know of anywhere else that sell them? Many thanks. Love your video of the cowl too. Val
Yarn is out of stock, can you recommend other brands of yarn to substitute or tell us weight of yarn? It looks a bit thicker than super fine on video but I'm not sure.

Question, when you made it with the 4 weight yarn, how did it turn out? When you made it with the 4 weight yarn, were you able to also pull some of it up so you could wear it as a hood?
Also, did you stick with using the H hook with the 4 weight yarn or did you use a bigger hook?
A Tip: When chaining long chains, take the hook out after a chain of 4 and insert it at the end and continue chaining with the end of the chain this way it won't twist at the end of your long chain.
I wish I could understand what you just said here. Is there a video for that?
Custom comfy crochet has a video explaining on her channel. It sounds crazy but it makes sense when you see it. @@Moni-ui5bz
@@Moni-ui5bz custom comfy crochet has a video on How to Keep A Long Chain Straight. That is where I learnrd. Sounds crazy but it works!
Yes I recently learned this tip and use it all the time. Wish I had known about it sooner.
I made this cowl and it is gorgeous... the yarn is so soft and Jennifer, you were right in about the nice drape to it. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this tutorial.
This tutorial is one of my absolute favourites! I have made it over and over again! So much appreciated!
I love a simple pattern that lets the yarn show off

And yet another very pretty pattern.
My fingers don't do well with sock weight yarns.
I would go to a 3 weight.
I love my Furls hook. I have the same color.
The lowest I will go is a 3 weight yarn. I need to see what I'm doing.
I really like this cowl. Just what I was looking for. You have the best projects!

Hi,love the yarn so I went to Summit road fibers website but no Deluxe sock.
I love the color and texture of the yarn you used for this video! But I can't find it anywhere!!! Where did you buy it?? Is the company still in business and do they still have that particular color yarn???
I love your tutorials!!! Thank you so much!
What weight was that yarn? I have a skein of #1 super fine yarn that I would love to use for this pattern but I’m worried it might be too thin? And would a 6mm hook be too big?
First!!!! Can’t wait to try this pattern
Beautiful cowl. Need 437 yards, 24x18 (for my info). Thank you 😊 ❤
Hi I love the crochet hook that you are using. I have looked at the website that you have shown, but cannot see that particular hook for sale. Yarn is out of stock, can you recommend other brands of yarn to substitute or tell us weight of yarn? It looks a bit thicker than super fine on video but I'm not sure.
Yes, I was hoping she would state the weight of the yarn, subs, too.
Such a beautiful cowl. Do you think LB Shawl in a Ball yarn would work well with this pattern? If so, what size hook? Thanks Jennifer
Oh I have the most perfect yarn in my stash for this project!!
