This might seem weird but when I discovered George Strait in 1982 I was around 15 years old. I just loved his voice and was addicted to his music. He was a very handsome guy too and I just loved the whole package. As years went by when I learned what a gentleman he was and how he and his wife were together for a long time and just the way he was so respected by everyone, it made me proud. I know what a person puts out musically doesn’t have anything to do with their private life but I was so happy that someone who became my favorite singer also was and is, a really good person. Someone who takes marriage seriously. He’s the whole package. The real deal and I’m honored to be his fan. I made a good choice!!!

I was a George Strait fan right out of the gate. He and his band came up to Omaha in 1981 and performed in hotel bar, I wanted to go see him but I was only 19. Two years later a country radio station got them to stop in Omaha and play two sets at country bar, as they were traveling to the Minnesota State Fair. Not only did I get to see him there but I got to lead him to the stage, we shook hands, and he signed my hat. My claim to fame, ha!
