I definitely would try any shot when im not playing in a competition - then practice it. Each failure you master is an asset later. And for sure it will fail 50 times in a competition when it's the key ball - i leave the rest to your imagination! My 2 cents!

That is just an abbreviated swing...then the ball will not rise so much.
