No painting nor animation or live action will ever reach what transpired that day on the Vengeful Spirit, and I hope it stays that way. This moment means everything to me 40K, the eternal war, the consequences of those deemed gods, the almost infinite amount of souls damned forever, whether innocent or wicked. When I first got into the hobby, THIS was the first thing I saw. A fight, a death, a failure. Everything happened right there.

To think that the emperors favorite son, his greatest son and the son that looks like him fell to chaos is ironic
It takes a lot of skill to create something unique out of long, 'ethereal drones', but this is finally what I've been hunting for. Big enjoys!

*starts to think about Istvaan III, the dropsite massacre and the death of Ferrus Manus, Sanguinius demise, the last moments of Horus, and starts to cry...*
Not sure what it is about tragic figures like this that i'm drawn to, but this music perfectly captures the vibe of Horus's descent from the charismatic well-intentioned leader he was, to a rageful, cold champion of the dark gods.
It also reminds me of the fact that chaos was not 100% responsible for his fall either. Everything Horus became was already inside him from the beginning, and you can see glimpses of it in the first book.
Such a powerful image....

There's just too many games that kill time and reap lifes potential... but this is some soundtrack i've been looking for a long time.
How could you do this to your father, to your brothers, to your sons, to humanity? You decry the Emperor, you decried that he betrayed you and your brothers because he lied to you, to us. Yet you were the one who plunged the dagger into his heart, the same heart that loved you enough to offer you mercy and forgiveness even unto you most detestable act in your final hours.

I was there the day Horus slew the Emperor.
By the end, Horus was nothing but a walking meat suit for the four. A true cautionary tale against consorting with the ruinous powers; The freedom they promise is the loss of yourself.
He was far mors than that, which is why he was so dangerous
@@samwisegamgee8773 In the moments before Horus died, the four abdicated his mind, and he, in those last seconds, beheld the horror he had wrought with his own eyes as a slave of the Ruinous Powers. His regret was so much that even if he were to live, he would take his own life before letting the four reclaim him so fully. That is the cruelty of Chaos; They did not even let the most important of their own pawns die a believer. In the end, they extracted one final rivulet of delicious misery by giving his mind back to him and letting him understand what they had made him do. Horus was the quintessential slave to chaos, the platonic ideal of a mindless puppet, and that is all Chaos really wants.

The end of the Horus Heresy. When Horus kills Sanguinius and then the Emperor shows up and kills Horus to end the Heresy. Then after his fight with Horus the Emperor was placed on his golden throne in his vegetable state.
