FUN FACT. In monster choreography there are installed their superpowers. When d.o gestures (nae Goddess moment in lyrics)all the rest of the members are pulled to his side (power- strengTh), when xiumin goes across- the rest of the members stop moving as they r being frozen, when sehun is in the middle- the rest of the group swirls around him (like a hurricane). You can see it more attentively in some video edits about superpowers.

Monster! The stunning era of the clothes and hairstyles that stunned us all! no one could get used to their amazing look during the Monster era ...... !!!
Notice that the movement from the chorus in the song is the same movement that Kai makes in a Lucky one clip! ... Notice that Baekhyun is alone, everyone is fighting against those who want to stop them, and only Baekhyun turns his back. Later, when everyone is inside the car, he arrives in police uniform and helps them escape.he also turned off the security cameras before (it's not appears in chronological order in the clip so you should pay close attention) and after putting down the security cameras he actually showed that he did not betray them but pretended, to save them. The same thing happens in other clips - it's not a spoiler - like in POWER MV he in the scene alone and actually helps them ... remember that. At the beginning of the clip, you see for one second a scene taken from a moving car. You'll see that when the middle of the clip time moves back, this scene is also going back. Probably so Baekhun could be in two places and save them. By the way, their choreography in some of the dance referenc to their super powers . There are a lot of videos on TH-cam explaining these theories. I highly recommend checking out some of them because the theory in this clip is very important in exo story.
You were pausing a lot bcos of course the VISUALS are outta this world but there's actually a story that was not so subtly depicted in the MV. When I watched Monster, I was so shookt bcos of baekhyun and how he became the 'plot twist' of this MV 😭💟

You don't have any idea how hype EXO-L's (and me) were when the teaser for MONSTER came out. Like man, that was the day I replay for like the whole day..... And that was only for the teaser because when the MV came out, I replay it for like Idk I think I was obsessed with that song for like the whole year.
trivia:
Monster and Lucky One made history for EXO on Music Bank as they go against each other fighting for first spot.
I think only BigBang was the first idol group to have that crazy history.
And history got repeated for EXO again last January for Tempo and Love Shot which is crazy bec they only performed like twice in November and promotion suddenly ended.
Monster demo was sang by a woman but EXO made the song a monster hit and sounded even better.
For someone that wasnt so sure about EXO a few weeks ago, I love that you've changed your stance!

Creeping in your heart babe" "You can call me Monster (because) I'm creeping in your heart babe." "She got me goin' crazy,." The song's called Monster so the words are about acting like a Monster "Don't be afraid love is the way... i'm sorry, you make me sooo craaaazzzy, you know you dooooo." LOL So the floating watch and the car that is on fire in reverse, etc., I think was -- on top of being a metaphor in the story -- them using their powers. Also the majority of the choreography for this song has to do with the members using their powers, so when you watch the dance practice and the live performances really pay attention to the choreography so you can find the parts where they use their powers. For example, when D.O. makes a gesture with his arms all the members are pulled toward him using his power of force, when Xiumin moves across in front of the rest of the members you will see them all pause as if frozen because he used his power of frost and when Sehun stands in the middle of the group the other members shuffle around him as if they are creating a windstorm because Sehun controls wind, etc. This is one of the best examples of how EXO continues their concept and story in everything they do. Everything, down to the most minute detail, is expertly thought out and planned to always stick to their concept and story.
Also, I think their next MV for their song "Lotto" is a prequel to "Monster" so when you watch "Lotto", just keep in mind that what you saw happen in "Monster" is what is going to take place after the events in "Lotto", and both MVs might make a little more sense to you then. However, I even have a hard time trying to piece together where the storyline in "Lotto" and "Monster" fit together within their larger storyline. These two MVs are the two I am most confused about and am not sure what the larger message is and what it is trying to tell us. I keep hoping future MVs and performances will eventually make "Monster" and "Lotto" a little more clear. But I have yet to find a solid connection that makes sense to me.
