Absolutely OUTSTANDING! This one really instills some Christmas cheer :) Happy Holidays, everyone....and thanks to all the people who performed and were involved in the making of this wonderful moment of Christmas joy!
Thank you Carlton High School. Berlin (Germany) enjoyed this great Christmas gift very, VERY much. My eyes swelled up with tears of Joy and laughter....it's ALWAYS wonderful to see God's spirit in the younger generation. Thus, by doing so,...it gives me (as well as others) HOPE for the future. I'm looking forward to MORE of your surprise performances. Thank you, Daria-Tanis Jetter SPENKE (an American in Berlin)
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! If you don't like, remember, nobody made you watch. If you like music, Christmas, a break from exams, a break from work---this is fun, joyful, and probably brought a lot of joy to those watching and performing. Thank you U of M!
outstanding job!!!! Great singing, great people, great sax, and sweet security guard!! University of Minnesota should be extremely proud of it's contribution to the world... anyone can flash mob... it takes a few Minnesotans to do it with some class and style.... way to go!!!!!
As a professional singer/choral director I was just blown away by this video....just had to get into it myself....you can't help it! WoooWoooo!!!! singerjoann
I loved it, it was beautifully well done. This arrangement, is a wonderful way of wishing everyone a "Merry Christmas". THANKS TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED!!
ok, that so makes me a softy, but when they all joined in and began to clap and sing, I just burst into tears! so awesome! I love this! thank you, thank you, thank you! that was a much appreciated flash mob and so awesomely done!
WOW! Talk about school spirit. I am a deployed service member in support of Operation New Dawn. Being away from home is hard, this brought joy to my day. Great job ladies and gentleman.
I love this! Now watched it six times and keep coming back for more. I particularly love the Security Guard! Who knew! And to those few carping critics - stop with the sour grapes! Feel sorry for whoever has to live with you.
Remarkable and without question the greatest, coolest, cutest and most fun mascot in the history of collegiate sports "Goldie Gopher!" :) AND THAT'S COMING FROM A SUN DEVIL!!
You rock! I keep coming back. Last year, I kept my christmas tree up until June and turned the lights on every night. I think I'll be watching you all deck the halls until July. Wow!!
Awesome! Best Flash Mob Video I have seen since the infamous "These are a Few of My Favorite Things" Flash Mob Video. Great job everyone, and KUDOS! to those who arranged and coordinated it all. BRAVO!!!
My middle son was a freshman at the U that year (2011) and sent me the link. I love flashmobs but this is my all-time favorite! I share it EVERY year with my friends on facebook and the students in my fall semester classes. :)
Fantastic - What a gift that the musicians and other artists involved gave to the rest of us! Thanks! ( It was SO great, I almost thought I was watching a You Tube filmed at St. Olaf!)
rmschmidt2008 - thanks for the kind words, As a Carlson Grad, I am proud of what the school does. It is because of citizens/soldiers like yourself keeping our country free that negative comments wrongly purporting to speak for us can be posted with impunity.
wow so spontaneous. really took everyone by surprise! and what a happy coincidence that there was a professional camera crew on stand by to capture the whole event. Jolly good show.
Highly jealous! I just graduated last spring and loved being in Women's Choir the most. Amazing job ladies and gents and a big shout out to Kathy Romey!
Music brings people together. This is a wonderful video with amazingly talented people performing before a "captured" audience of even more amazingly talented people. When people try to tell me there is no hope in this world and for the younger generations in particular, I'll simply smile and remember this video.
This is soooo cool! Thanks to the Univ. of Minnesota Singers. As a native Minnesotan now living in Texas, this brings back lots of memories of great choral activities while in H.S. and College at St. Olaf and Mankato State.
Didn't get it till after the Holidays, but it's so wonderful. I love that the flash mob phenomenon has made public space a (semi-) legitimate place for performance. Public temporal arts! Yay! "Deck the Halls" indeed!
Hey, these are all young people who took the time to do something positive together. Who cares if this idea is not new? You are what you think. If you think this is not a great thing well... need I say more? Love and Light to the found and the lost. Lacey's Ma.
This is awesome!! Thanks Carlson School for allowing a bit of the holiday season into the grind of academia. My son is a student there, and he was there when this happened. It made him proud of his university!
This is great! Someone mentioned 'who was surprised'... Lots of us! Plus, who cares, the music and singing was great fun to listen to! It took quite a bit of time to put this one. Congrats to all involved!! Merry Christmas to all.
I don't think it matters whether this was about money or not; This video was great and those students and faculty put in a lot of work. It made a bunch of people smile and possibly made someone's day. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the holidays.
One of the best edited and shot Flash Mob's I've seen. Very envious. I shot one and wish I had that many good cameras. Well done. Oh yeah, the Mob did a good job too, but they usually do.
A brilliant and challenging thought translated superbly into life. The videography and edit deserves equal credit for not only making one feel like they were present - but present everywhere in that space !!! Loved it.
Great fun...and I liked the arrangement, not one I've heard before...with 300 visitors showing up the Management students must have thought business was booming!
While "Deck the Halls" may be a "neutral" Holiday song of sorts...the Saxophonist begins with a sweet melody from a distinctly CHRISTIAN Hymn "Near the Cross". This is a wonderful Christmas gift to my heart from the University of Minnesota. I was proud to share this with the Facebook world that I influence! Go Goldie and blessings to all who listen to the still small voice in the midst of all the harmony and wonder of this sweet gathering of voices and talents!
Holy crap I watched this when I was 10, now I’m 18... crazy how time flies
This is my favorite flash mob EVER! I watch it at least 10 times each Christmas.
Each year I return to bring in the holiday cheer!
We need more of these random musical events. Never fails to lift my spirit. Judy
Absolutely OUTSTANDING! This one really instills some Christmas cheer :) Happy Holidays, everyone....and thanks to all the people who performed and were involved in the making of this wonderful moment of Christmas joy!
With Christmas, 2015, rapidly approaching, I just had to come back for another viewing of this terrific video. Still one of the best on TH-cam!!!
People, who cares where or why...just enjoy it. It's beautiful. Open your heart and mind and listen. Very cool!
Love when Goldy makes an appearance!
Delightful, fun, energizing moments of beautiful song, music and dance. University of Minnesota has wonderful singers and music. Thank you!
More performers than audience, almost! Spectacularly well produced. Bravo!!
There should have been A Thunder Applause , with 2000 students watching , Merry Christmas . Thanks for the video.
Now that's what I call a happy get together. Bring it on folks y'all got it going. !!!!
Still one of my favorites!
As a professional singer/choral director I was just blown away by this video....just had to get into it myself....you can't help it! WoooWoooo!!!! singerjoann
Hat's off to the U of M and Carlson for giving me a very nice taste of the season. Made my week...thank you
I loved it, it was beautifully well done.
That was a wonderful way to spend 5 minutes. Think I'll watch it again.
Lovely. A great argument for universities having such wonderful open spaces in their buildings so that things like this can happen.
WOW! Talk about school spirit. I am a deployed service member in support of Operation New Dawn. Being away from home is hard, this brought joy to my day. Great job ladies and gentleman.
Wonderful! Actually made me cry. What a sense of community at the U! Amazing!
My heart is signing! I am grateful to Jeremy McCarthy for paying this cool video forward to his teaching world.
Yes, Merry Christmas!! This is an awesome example how people can get into the spirit of things, not something pointless at all!
I love this! Now watched it six times and keep coming back for more. I particularly love the Security Guard! Who knew! And to those few carping critics - stop with the sour grapes! Feel sorry for whoever has to live with you.
Well that's what I call Christmas spirit! Not tons of candies and presents! Just people who come together to share their happiness!
Remarkable and without question the greatest, coolest, cutest and most fun mascot in the history of collegiate sports "Goldie Gopher!" :) AND THAT'S COMING FROM A SUN DEVIL!!
RARELY does any TH-cam video make me cry...but this is just too awesome for words. Excellent job (or, erm, MOB!)
THAT is the essence of the Christmas spirit. Thank you God.
Nice job friends of Goldy! This is going viral on Facebook. What a nice way to spread Christmas cheer.
I think the way that this loud area just slowly quiets down when they hear the music start playing is just amazing!
I think this is a wonderful, appropriate action on the part of the musicians. Just wish everyone could appreciate it.
You rock! I keep coming back. Last year, I kept my christmas tree up until June and turned the lights on every night. I think I'll be watching you all deck the halls until July. Wow!!
This is one of the greatest things I have seen on the Internet
Awesome! Best Flash Mob Video I have seen since the infamous "These are a Few of My Favorite Things" Flash Mob Video. Great job everyone, and KUDOS! to those who arranged and coordinated it all. BRAVO!!!
Thanks so much for the HIGH quality vid and sound! It makes us feel like we were there. No jiggly swingy shots. Good job.
My middle son was a freshman at the U that year (2011) and sent me the link. I love flashmobs but this is my all-time favorite! I share it EVERY year with my friends on facebook and the students in my fall semester classes. :)
i appreciated the fact that the production ws performed first of all, and then presented to the Rest of Us!!
Fantastic. Glad to see people sharing some kindness to strangers.
When we watch videos like this, they make you say "Wow, this is amazing".
Through music it is my belief we can change the world! Keep the spirit sustain the movement!

rmschmidt2008 - thanks for the kind words, As a Carlson Grad, I am proud of what the school does. It is because of citizens/soldiers like yourself keeping our country free that negative comments wrongly purporting to speak for us can be posted with impunity.
How perfect that these people who are supposed to be improving this are harmonizing perfectly
wow so spontaneous. really took everyone by surprise! and what a happy coincidence that there was a professional camera crew on stand by to capture the whole event. Jolly good show.
I remember seeing this on the news last year....the saxophone was played so beautiful!

Funny how a school of management has so many wonderful singers!! haha
Wonderful job with these young people! With all the "bad stuff" in our Country, I find this "refreshing" MERRY CHRISTMAS! :-)
Great, great video! I'm not even a believer, but this was just flat out fun!!
