I think it's time for a self propelled sprayer. massive time saver it would be.
You know those mowers can be configured for swath dropping? Could have saved yourself a job....
Don't be too hard on yourself for missing a fert application. Apart from buying that awful John Deere drill, it's about the only mistake you've made so far.
I hope you're going to grow something for the chickens in that new field.
I wouldn't sweat it. Daggerwin doesn't lime anything. It's driving me up the wall lol. 1 field with 50% fert won't loose you the match up
You have the money to have bought the windrow addition for that mower.
Would it be worth getting narrow tyres? Do they let you drive in that crop? Assuming it's a 20% yield increase, if that crop gets you £30000, 20% of that is £6000, so assuming it's not too expensive it's worth it? Or is it the spreader that's the problem?
Yes that's true I could get the narrow wheels, would need them for both the spreader and tractor though. Long term they probably would pay for themselves but I try to spread before the crop gets too tall to save money.

Found out that letting grass grow to stage 2 growth is around a 48% increase, so waited to this month to mow and bale. I am looking to get some cows soon, so will start on hay next time.
