It's obvious these sharks are content and not hungry. A seal is swimmingly happily by them. Sharks aren't going to eat if they're not hungry, they're not evil like people and they don't kill other animals for no reason like people do.
If you wan't to do it search "Isla de Guadalupe". I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this was filmed there because I've been there. It's amazing ... don't delay your dreams
EXCELLENT - In a sea of stupidity , ignorance , cowardice and apathy . There are a precious few noble souls with the intelligence and courage to reach out to OUR world . Good for you !
This is beautiful. Sharks are some of the most amazing, elegant, and wonderful creatures on this earth. It is so unfortunate that they are so misunderstood because they really are exquisite.
The most interesting thing happens at 1:32 when the seal comes into the frame & turns toward the shark, both seemingly oblivious to each other. This is like a human encountering an In-N-Out burger & not taking a bite. It’s obvious this fish is just taking a walk around the block after a big meal.
I look forward to watching more videos from you. I've always been fascinated by the seas. There's still so much mystery behind them. I figure we can learn the mysteries of life in our oceans. When I was a kid, I figured I wanted to be a marine biologist. But, my fears of the unknown hold me back. I hope your explorations can help me learn more without... danger? Good luck!
Was diving as Wyland's buddy off Catalina Island when we had a 14 foot great white swim by. Have undoubtedly had several others approach in my 50 years of diving but they don't seem to find me menu-worthy!
Good, they got a location where food is plentiful and the sharks are chilling around with a full belly. Its not crazy, its smart. Anything can happen though, so hats off to the swimmers for putting your bodies in the line
Nothing to fear but fear its-self. Great job on this guys... It was not very long ago that humans thought dolphins were man eaters too. A little education goes a long way. No this is not something every one can or should do. But what you miss is the mutual respect. If you noticed a very relaxed sealion also enjoying the moment as well. No one is armed.
You are completely right. That's why Fred and Will are really careful and know where to stop unlike crazy GoPro sponsored blonde freediver girls... Glad people are putting so much thought into comments regarding sharks lately, appreciate it ;)
Sharks have modes-passive mode like here. Inquisitive mode. Attack mode. The key to not getting attacked is the ability to read the sharks body language-When they start swimming quickly making sudden sharp turns with their heads, it means they're in attack mode and you should get the fuck out of the water asap. When they're just swimming around gently without moving very fast, it means they're in passive mode and relatively safe...
hold your nose, and gently try to blow out of it, and dont wait till you feel unconfortable every few meters or so BEFORE it hurts, if you cant equalize i recommend going up a few feet until it stops hurting and try again, if it doesnt work, then i recommend canceling the dive (well, thats how it is for SCUBA but idk about freediving) oh yes, and if you just cant equalize, on a dive dont do it harder, that can lead to an ear rupture
Don't forget Great Whites are really good actors-They favourite role, is the pretend to be dead. They do this around inexperienced seal pups. The seal pups all think to themselves "What's this great big 'dead' fish doing here???" They keep on nudging its nose. Little do they know the Great White is very far from dead. All of a sudden in four hundredth of a second, they suddenly bite a seal pup that's up too close...
Great Whites are mostly ambush predators, which is why you'll often see them gather around dead whales with much smaller shark species and sometimes even seals too who feed on the smaller scavenging fish. But make no mistake, these guys would have little recourse if this shark decided they weren't a threat and were ideal prey.
@mickdukes +1 I never understand some people spend so much effort trying to figure out what these animals think, or do. As a human being I do things for no reasons all the time; like kick a a empty can or rock that I came across walking on the street for no reason, just because. Is it that hard to believe that sometimes a shark will bite/ eat a human being, mistaken identity or not, just for giggles? or sometimes just swim around not even paying heed? Its doing w/e it pleases.
Freediving fans, I just finished a video on "how to hold your breath longer" part 1 and part 2 for all you guys who like to be able to hold their breath longer.
So beautiful! Very peaceful.

+browneyes89 Moreover, they aren't usually hungry. They can be a month without eating anything.
Its because they can never catch the seal like that. They hunt in a different way.
If you wan't to do it search "Isla de Guadalupe". I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this was filmed there because I've been there. It's amazing ... don't delay your dreams
I love how calm the music is. it sounds like the kind of music you hear playing in a hotel lounge

As much as ocean videos relax me, this actually raises my heart rate. I can't imagine being there, it would sense my heart being out of control.
Which means you probably could.

Beautiful shots and a gorgeous subject.
Enjoyed this video, thumbs up from us and cheers from sunny IGY Simpson Bay Marina, Sint Maarten in the Caribbean.

1:37 the seal is completely oblivious... lol
The Sea Looks Beautiful!
Great whites are docile for the most part. It's the hungry ones you gotta watch out for. There are less than 4,000 in existence, btw.
It's just something about the words "great" and "white" that give me a proud feeling. They just seem perfect together.
1) how big are those sharks? 2) i would totally panic in the water with them.
i nearly had heart attack watching that, i was like NO DONT STROKE IT
So glad I saw this. Protect and preserve!

Great whites are only aggressive when hunting. Either seeing you as a potential food source or acting territorial because you are near a food source.
I was that close to a pool shark once...it changed my life man.
1:40 was that a seal ???? How can a seal swming close to a great white shark i font get it !!!
This is magnificent!!!! we really do need to see these beautiful animal in a different light!!
The seal is pretty confident around the Big Queen 😂😂😂😂
Those great whites are so magnificent! Love the video. Can't believe you just reached out and touched it! Wow!
So majestic ...
Awesome video !
its probably a experimental hiphop instrumental, there's plenty of underground hiphop sample instrumentals that is slept on.
This guy don't need a diving belt to weigh him down......He has balls of pure steel :)
beautiful
very very nice one! where was it shot?
Good video. Would watch again. A++++

The seal be like: better get the heck outta here ..

How did the seal at 1:36 not get shredded?
Wasn't hungry clearly lol
so what exactly was the plan if the shark decided that he was tired of a photoshoot?
it looks like this shark is vegeterian, cuz even the other fish and seals are swimmimg around it without fear
Balls of steel. He has them.
Its the Stingrays you have to look out for.
That seal was all like YOLO!!
I am amazed and freaked out by this...
i like the song whtz the name of it
How does one stay afloat with brass balls?
wathis a trade arl of snorkel? and model¿
Grizzly Man figured he was never going to be eaten either.
what song did you use in the video??
Is this South Africa or Guadalupe?
Sooner or later, one of those sharks will bite like hell.
I see these guys ending up like the Grizzly man...
You are completely right. That's why Fred and Will are really careful and know where to stop unlike crazy GoPro sponsored blonde freediver girls... Glad people are putting so much thought into comments regarding sharks lately, appreciate it ;)
That seal? The Honey Badger of the ocean.
if you were next to me in that moment, the water would have felt warm
That's cool! I have no problem swimming with oceanic's or silkys, I don't know if I could do that, maybe with the right dive buddy.
MUY BUENOS BUCEOS !!!!

so, if you swim at it the shark does not eat you?
who is crazier ,the seal or the man?

wth is the name of the song
wow, they are gentel even with seals in the water
1:31 there is a seal swimming below the shark.
I feel like the music is trying to make the sharks look sexy.
1.36 a seal?
i bet u dint know u could slide the tabs about at the top of your page on google chrome
OK, well that is just crazy.
Thats at least a 10 foot shark. Balls of steel
That was intense!

what camera did you guys use? iv been looking for a good camera i can use underwater, yours looks very clear.

how does he stay afloat with massive balls of steel?
Seal, or Sea Lion?
They have more balls than the Rawlings factory
Read it again, he says "THEY may be as smart as Dolphins."
where this video has been shot?thank you
Isla Guadalupe, Mexico
God I hope he didn't cut himself shaving that morning haha
man, computer graphics is getting better every day ...
you guys are frekaing insane
Freediving fans, I just finished a video on "how to hold your breath longer" part 1 and part 2 for all you guys who like to be able to hold their breath longer.
This shark was probably just traveling or something, he is tryna get somewhere, he aint worried about you :)
as i assume pissing yourself is something that would get the sharks attention, i do not think i would do well in a similar situation
dam he shuda slayed the monster
This video should've been titled DEATHWISH
timothy treadwill of the sea
I dive a fair bit, but I can tell you right now, if I saw a white I would launch and land feet first on boat deck from water.
ozbloke74 cwnt outswim a great white
nice,gave thumbs up.
Wonderful.
idk whos crazier ,the seal or the man lol
"misunderstood" predator? It just wasn't hungry
man, you guys are crazy!! A++++ video. I guess the shark wasn't hungry. Hahaha! GOOD JOB!
Maybe the music score killed the shark's appetite! lol No seriously, I find sharks awesome and understand they never set out to hurt people!
@DoctorNickson Its called ballast, he needs just enough weights to not sink and not bounce to surface, LOL
i would like to swim with passive sharks. such as the Japanese Bull Head Shark. Very Small And Passive. but the bigger ones are so silky and strong.
There was probably a huge whale carcass over to the right that we don't see.
Looks like he didn't find Nemo
its a great white but a very small one
I'll be honest, there's no way in hell I'd do that. Respect to those divers! They've got balls.
Sharks will only attack a human if this human is scared, a bit like dogs.
Amazing!
