The reason why woodley isn't getting the gsp fight is because gsp was watching woodley stuff Maia and knows there is no way for him to take woodley down and that's why gsp texted Dana he wants bisbing and Dana is starving for stars and gsp will be nullified against woodley.

The Woodley fight may have broken the record for the least total strikes, but I'd also bet Woodley broke the record for most defended takedowns in one fight as well. It would be ridiculously stupid for Woodley to be even in the least bit reckless and have Maia backpack him and choke him out.

Ryan Thomas and bisping is an entertaining fighter? give me a break. he almost lost to hendo. who was not the number 1 contender mind you. if they allow woodley to skip fighting the number 1 and fight someone ranked lower, maybe it would make for a more interesting fight. but he has to follow the rules and those opportunities aren't afforded to him, like bisping. bisping has been holding that belt hostage for a year. injured, not injured, on a movie set performing stunts, saying he is fine to fight gsp, then gsp claims he is not ready to fight, so amazingly bisping is hurt again? come on now..

Woodley is wasting his talent playing it safe. He is not aware of what he has, but Maia is half of the fight. The boring shows are on his opponents too.
John lmfao tons of jacked fighters got trigger happy and ended up getting knocked out. None of them were champions. His smarts are just as much a gift as his physical attributes.
Like I said it is not all on Woodley why his fights are boring. It is Maia's fault as well. However, Woodley can uncork big punches in the 4th and 5th round in a smart way. Maia stands no chance. Now, I have to rewatch Silva vs Maia to know how it went down. It maybe Maia's presence. I don't know man. I still think T-Wood has the talent to get the win in spectacular fashion.

Damn, this may be the first time I'm saying and thinking Dana White, wtf are you doing here.. You just said the winner of this fight would face GSP, flat out. You didn't say if Tyron wins by stoppage he gets GSP. I'm telling you sounds fishy to me, I think this is all GSP calling the shots here, I think he expected Maia to win, or at least exploit some type of weakness in Tyrons game, which he did neither not even close. GSP specifically said it most be against the right opponent, that's cool, but why for dana to say the winner will get GSP, just to sell a few more PPVs by intriguing the fans.. The only other guy for Woodley is Cowboy, which I thought won his fight tonight. Or at least enough for a draw.

Dana might have caused this Woodley debacle. He guaranteed Woodley the fight if he won, so Woodley played it safe. He should have said "let's see how it goes Saturday."
Good fights. I blame Demian more than Tyron for the performance since Demian admitted his wrestling wasn't sharp enough to get take downs. The same thing happened against Silva. I don't think it matters actually who Dana thinks is a good fighter or not considering Rhonda's true reveal. Cyborg getting the belt is deserved, but just feels weird since she's been available to fight for years, but they wouldn't give her the chance. And I'm glad the Paper Champ situation is over with Jones and Cormier. Just because UFC stripped Jones didn't make him any less the Greatest of All Time. Jones holds that position over Fedor over Mighty Mouse, and everyone else. He might as well do Superfights and end his career.
This guy should stop blabbing about who gets who next just to completely retract it soon after. Woodley fought smart to beat Maia. Give him some credit and stick to your word ffs

Maia got screwed out of this fight with that fence grabbing. His whole thing is grappling and he was denied that by Woodley breaking the rules. Props to him for trying to box though. This is one advantage of a Pride style ring.

i think woodley could have finished him in the 2nd too, but that fight was going to be boring from the beginning and everyone knew it...you can't put a counter puncher up against someone who literally only throws one or two strikes to mask his relentless takedown attempts and expect to see an entertaining fight

I think Dana should start eating healthier and working out more. I think he may be having those headaches he's been having during this interview, which is why he had to repeat many questions. I can't imagine the amount of responsibility he has to do to run the UFC, but he can't run a company if he's burnout and having health problems.

What I got from UFC 214: Woodley is the worst champion in UFC history and that people actually thought DC Jones was going to be close. Jones size, height, and reach is so big for most light heavyweights.
Woodley beat Maia, Lawler, and Wonderboy in his past four fights. That makes him an incredible champion. As for the DC Jones fight, it was close up until that head kick.

The Tyron stuff is unreal. The dude stuffed 20+ td's. Instead of praising him for beating a karate specialist and a ju jistu specialist back to back Dana discredits him because he didn't fight the way Dana wanted. Maia takes everybody down. Everybody check his record. Maybe Tyron could have pushed a finish but Maia needs less than a minute on the ground to finish a fight why would Tyron risk getting beaten because he opens up to make it entertaining for the meat head fans in the crowd. Tyron has played MMA chess against 2 completely different artists and won. He is doing what he needs to if they give him Lawler again T-Wood is going to KO him again. Nobody at 70 can touch him. He is a very very intelligent fighter in a extremely gifted athletes body.

For every one commenting on Dana's red complexion, that's what tanning booths (his eyes are white circles) combined with cocaine (holding on to that wire with the grip of a japanese masseuse, licking lips, wanting to talk for hours when he is rich as balls and doesn't have to) combined with the stress of being the President of a multi billion dollar machine with a huge media presence, combined with eating $100 tiramisu and souls of Reebok-endorsed MMA athletes.

I'm in awe of the people defending Woodley. His last three fights against Wonderboy and now Maia have been some of the biggest dumpster fires I've ever seen. Like him or not, Dana is right here. If Tyron wanted to he could just fight these guys and probably finish them with relative ease. Michael Bisping might be the biggest fluke champ of the last five years (thanks Rockhold) but AT LEAST HE DOES FIGHT PEOPLE. I have lost all interest in watching Woodley fight.
