Haven’t got any of the original Scott Walker LP’s, only that record store day “boy child” compilation on white vinyl! Did once find the debut you have here, but if I remember it had a few small deep scratches on it, so I left it cos they wanted £16 quid and I knew it would click like hell! But since then these have shot up in value, probably because of you tube uploaders recommending Scott Walker to everyone! Thanks!!!!

Lol you're welcome!!! The first 4 albums are great, his later albums, if you didn't know, are really avant garde, and experimental... he was a genuine enigma.

I did know and i’ve got one of them on cd! It’s the one he did with sunn called “soused” industrial metal band and him being avant garde couldn’t say no! Haven’t got “tilt” or “the drift” yet but I need to hear them first before I decide! I did find the last solo album he did before reforming the walker brothers in a charity shop for 50p about 10 years ago called “we had it all” which hasn’t even had a cd reissue nevermind a vinyl one!!!!

Incase I wasn’t clear about that, I meant the 1974 album on CBS he did before the mid 70’s reformation of them!!

Great video. Mine's an original mono pressing I bought last year from a charity shop for £6. The record looked to be unmarked but very dusty and the sleeve in VG+. When I'd cleaned it it sounded fantastic, even for the less desirable mono version and I'm on the lookout for more of his now, having only got them on CD.

I have only heard some of the tracks off of "The Drift" other than that I have never heard any Scott Walker. Ill have to check this out!

The drift is very experimental... the first 4 albums are very accessible, more so than the drift. Personally, my favourites of his are Scott 3 and 4.
Scott 1 & 2 are both good, but I think by the 3rd and 4th albums, his songwriting had started to mature and was going up a level.

great album. The OG is great. I don't have the re issue. Like you I want the other three! Is it worth getting the other re issues?

Scott 4 reissue is excellent.. Half speed mastered at Abbey Road, which sounds great... I'm interested to know how the half speeds match up against the OGs...

If you can get hold of a copy of the mono editions of Scott 1 & 2 they're worth a listen. Are you sure Scott 3 was reissued as an Abbey Road 1/2 speed remaster? I have Scott 4 in that format, but wasn't aware of it's predecessor also getting that treatment.

I stand corrected... I knew it was 2 of them... It's 2 and 4, which are half speeds

@@suffolkaudiophile there isn't a half speed mastered version of '2' on Discogs, though the version of '4' is listed.
