I love The Final Cut - and listen to it often (vinyl and CD copies). I liked from the first listen in around 1985. I also have the re-mixed Animals LP - but it’s not a quiet disc (pops and rumble), so I’ll stick to my original pressing I think! My other often played album is Roger Waters’ Amused To Death - an absolute masterpiece, and a recording that always sounds impressive.
Great list & wow The Final Cut is one not many would have on rotation but everyone is different & that's the love of music....My top 10 lately is. 10cc - Original Soundtrack Talk Talk - The Colour of Spring Paul Weller - Heavy Soul Sparks - No.1 in Heaven Pink Floyd - Animals (Original) The Beatles - Rubber Soul The Jam - Setting Sons XTC - Black Sea Sex Pistols - Nevermind the Bollocks Genesis - A Trick of the Tail... Very diverse & all of them on vinyl only.
I remember I played Faith by The Cure constantly in the summer ☀️ of 1981 & purchased the cassette which had the magnificent 25 minute instrumental Carnage Visors on it.
I love The Final Cut as well. I have an early U.S. pressing and it sounds phenomenal! Way better recording and mixing than The Wall had. Maybe in line with Wish You Were Here in quality.
I have been watching a lot of record videos and reading the comments. Just did that here and find myself beginning to suspect that music tastes are possibly subjective.
Sorry to see you’re having problems with the Animals video 🙁. I paused it near the end to make a comment only to find it had disappeared. I’m assuming it’s those copyright issues 🙄 and hope you can get it sorted and back up again soon.
@robertmorgan9205 your absolutely correct... I've now uploaded it 3 times, each time I've edited it, but keep getting copyright strikes... the last time was for 1 minute of ambient wind noise from the beginning of Dogs.... unbelievable that the Oakland recording is now owned by Pink Floyd... it'll be back up later today once I've had a chance to re-edit that section.... I've also now discovered that the Boston Garden audio is also owned by Floyd.. it seems they're buying up any decent audio recordings. I could easily mute those bits, but I don't want to have silence on those transitional sections... I've worked hard on this over a number of weeks gathering the B roll, audio, scripting it etc... I want it to be as complete as possible
@@suffolkaudiophile hopefully it’ll be fourth time lucky and it’ll be available to watch later 🤞🏻. I was a member of a Pink Floyd forum online (still am though I don’t post on there now) and we had a thing going on where we would share Floyd bootlegs by mail as FLAC files burned to DVDs and these would go to members round the world. I ended up with approx 150 of these ranging in quality to Oakland style to barely listenable. In the end I got rid of the worst ones but the rest are burned to CD with the appropriate artwork. Since then of course some have been released by Floyd on boxsets as you say and I have those, along with some vinyl ones (Pompeii, Man and Journey, DSOTM etc) but hopefully them buying the copyright is a sign they might end up as official, stand alone releases.
And that’s the hypocrisy of collecting vinyl. You always have a few bands or titles that you listen to all the time. The rest of vinyl collections is to fill the shelf and is waste of money…
Not really.... I do listen to other records, and chop and change quite a bit, but my top 5 are my general go to records if I want to listen to something and can't decide what to listen to... thanks for watching
Bought Lana Del Ray from your recommendations and i love it to. There is something about her vocals that makes you want to keep coming back to it a love it.
Interesting video, there’s a few that are probably in my most played list, The Doors LA Woman, Abbey Rd, Animals, Japan. Incidentally what speakers are you using I your Hifi system?
They're Celestion F30... soon to be replaced as they're the only thing in my system I don't like, and that I feel hold the full potential of the system back.. I only used them as they're fairly sensitive which is good for my amp...
@@suffolkaudiophile Any speakers on your shortlist? I’ve been using a pair of Rega RX3’s for about 10 years. I will probably replace them next. I’ve listened to Acoustic Energy AE309 which were good they are 89db sensitivity. I will need sensitive speakers for my Amp.

Good to see someone else enjoys The Final Cut.
Final Cut is a masterpiece that get's better with every listen.
The Final Cut is an absolutely stone cold masterpiece. By far my favorite Floyd album. Would love to have the CBS Mastersound pressing.

Abbey Road remix sounds amazing.
I've just done an A/B comparison of the remaster against an original... I was staggered... Comparison video on the way
