    Thank you! I found the fuses BUT I was having a heck of a time trying to pull. Tried needle nose pliers, tried tweezers, just slip slip and a lot of cursing. LOL
    Had no idea there's a *puller* under the hood. YOU are a HERO ... But daaaang, I'm a small girl and even I can't contort the right angle to get at those fuses, let alone to get an arm and fingers there to pull and even when I'm *this close*, I'm so twisted I have zero strength and torque to pull the fuse! HTF to mechanics do this? There has to be a trick.
    ***update*** Success, yay me! I had to pull it blind, locate, feel, place puller, yank, feel, pop in new - all with my body, head and eyes out of the way. I have a 2016 Honda Civic Sport. Soooo grateful to you! The usb ports just don't charge my phone as fast as the accessory (lighter) port. YOU'RE THE BEST!

      Such a strange place to put the fuse puller, I think they should have one at each fuse location... Thanks for stopping in!

  • @EjazFazal1

    It worked Thx. I appreciate your help. For example, if you have a 20 amp fuse, you can replace that with 7.5, 10, or 15 amp fuse instead. If you put the 20 amp fuse, do not put 25 or above amp fuse, that will fuse the higher amp fuse.

    I know they don't make anything easy but yes buy a package of fuses with all sizes so you have them and I go through a lot because they seem to burn out fast when we use the accessory outlets for some reason . Great share !

    Good tutorial. Some people were fortunate enough to never had blown a fuse, so the first time they do, it could be a little bit of a "challenge". Like i9. I had a 2000 Accord for the most part a good car but when it started to have a couple of issues I had my "challenge" LOL now.

    when I pulled one out, I see that these fuses has a short blade. I got 2 20 amp mini fuse, but these have a longer blade. does it make any difference if the mini fuse with long blades go into the fuse box?
    the vehicles in question was a 2011 & 2017 honda accords. both have these short blades. both were victimized by a failing air compressor which blew the fuses for the power outlet accessory (2 on the 2017 and 1 on the 2011).

    Would there be any other issue not causing it to work. I have a 2017 Honda Accord and I change the fuse and it doesn’t work still. I tried other chargers in the center plug and it works but the main one that’s shown in your video still doesn’t work. I looked up the correct spot (40) and the correct fuse that I brought to my auto place. What else could be wrong? No rust or object inside the plug as well. No marks or anything.

    • @madscientisthut
      @madscientisthut  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it is possible that the wire could be damaged or as simple as the connection to the power port is lose/disconnected'

    • @tonycrash
      @tonycrash 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@madscientisthut would that be an easy removal or would I have to go through the whole dashboard or the center console?

    • @madscientisthut
      @madscientisthut  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would first check the connector to the power port in the console, it will most likely be the issue.

    • @madscientisthut
      @madscientisthut  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you can use the spares but should replace them at some time in the near future, you never know when you need a spare fuse to get you going again.

    • @madscientisthut

    What happens if the fuse won't go in on it's slot? I have a 20a that came out of its slot, and now it won't go in, in fact, the fuse is loose prior to inserting it... Any Idea how to fix it?

    • @madscientisthut
      @madscientisthut  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try a 20 A fuse from another location in the fuse block. The 20 A fuse that you have may not have the correct legs on it. If that does not work you may have a damaged fuse block.

  • @rdleahey

    I am trying to install the following device on my car:
    th-cam.com/video/swTWSjyN9FQ/w-d-xo.html
    I connected the +ACC wire to the #14 Rear Accessory Power Socket (Console Compartment). I have a USB connector with a power light inserted in that socket. Whet the car is on, the USB power light is on. When the car is off, the USB power light is off. However even when the car is turned off and the POWER MAGIC PRO is turned off. Power is still getting sent to my dash cam.
    Please note that I have removed the #14 fuse and turned on the car. The USB connector stayed off.
    Does this fuse still get power even when the car is turned off?

    • @madscientisthut
      @madscientisthut  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tom. I am not certain about the power available on the fuse, I assume that the fuse is actually before any disconnect control since this is where the main power from the battery is going. If you need it to cut power I would tap into the 12V accessory wire under the dash but also add an inline fuse where ever you tap into it.
