Or use the layers palette to select the background object. Or in your artwork, the background object was the only locked element. When you do an unlock all, it's already selected. Also the eyedropper tool is quicker than locating the object in the layers palette and option clicking and dragging.
I love everything about your videos! You never cease to amaze me! One question-how can I turn your paper cutout design into a seamless repeat surface pattern design? I know that if anyone could help me with this "problem" it would be you! 😬 Thank you!!
Hey thanks so much 👍 For a seamless design you would need to design the shapes with seamlessness in mind, and could perhaps copy the whole design, flip horizontally and move to the right and butt them up next to each other. Then copy both of these and flip them vertically and butt them up underneath - essentially so you have 4 copies of the design. Group everything together and then you should be able to create copies of the group and extend the pattern in any direction with the edges looking pretty seamless 😊
@@ForeverDansky Thank you so much for your speedy reply!! See, you ARE amazing!, 😁 This is interesting-if I’m picturing this correctly, I would end up with somewhat of a checkerboard version of the original design, is that right? That in itself would make an awesome pattern. I appreciate your help so very much and I will put this into action right away! 🫶
Hey James, try making everything smaller by reducing the size of the shapes. You can always design a bit smaller, and at the end ‘Expand’ everything and scale it all back up. I’m not sure why this is even a thing, but that’s a work-around I often use 👍
Hey @Danksy Thanks for the video! Im curious... Do you (or anyone else in the comments) have any techniques for removing banding in illustrator? It would be nice if we could make these designs a little smoother. In Photoshop I just use 16bit color instead of 8 but that's not an option in illustrator

Nicely done. Why are you not using a simple drop shadow?
He explained in the video.
It's so he can control where the shadows go. You can't do that with a drop shadow.

@@ForeverDansky I really have learn a lot from you. I wish you give more classes about using texture effect
Great Video
Sir, the shadow has been used with a raster effect but how I can convert it into totally vector?
Effects like drop shadow are typically raster-based, as to my knowledge, realistic shadows can't be replicated in vector format.
What font do you use for your thumbnails?
Satoshi these days 👌
Can you tell me that how did you the trim the shapes that are coming out of the document? Please tell. Wonderful tutorial by the way.
