    I'm 55 and I have HORRIBLE finger and forearm spasms/cramps. I also have plantar fasciitis and terrible toe spasms/cramps. It "seems" I don't have them as bad when I eat salted, in-shell sunflower seeds (lots of them). I'll try it out.

    Great exercises BUT need to view the black stretchy bands face on to the camera. And to emphasize the viewing either you guys should wear KHAKI pants for back ground contrast or use a bright color like yellow to contrast the stretchy bands against the black background of your pants.

    Great video! Question about the Strengthener and any exercise band: since they are made of rubber and I'm assuming over time they may become dry due to low humidity during winter months, should you apply an oil or some kind of emollient to keep the bands from drying out? Thank you in advance for any answers you can give me.

    • @BobandBrad
      @BobandBrad  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, these bands are the same as what commercial duty exercise bands are made of. They will be fine.

    I dislocated my middle and ring finger about 2 years ago. I am really proud that I can completely close my fist (a lot of different shape and density stress balls) and I rarely have any pain anymore . But, I would like to strengthen my fingers and wrists. Would this be a reasonable option for me?

    I'm in a wheelchair and my left elbow is inflamed and has been hurting for several months. My orthopedic doctor says it's golfer's elbow. He put a steroid shot in it and it was a little better for a while but now the pain is back worse than before. I can't straighten it out or lift anything with it. Any suggestions?

    • @zedek_
      @zedek_ 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Try Wim Hof breathing; it's just a breathing exercise that has been shown in studies to reduce inflammation (among many other things). He does have a course online, but he's also put all the info out there for free, so you can find many videos on it, included guided breathing.
      Here's how you do it - find a nice comfortable place to sit:
      1) The breaths are done by inhaling as fully as possible, and when you exhale, you merely release your breath so your chest returns to its _neutral_ position (you do not push all your air out). Think of it as inhaling 100% and releasing ~50%. Do a few practice breaths to get a feel for it.
      2) Do 30-40 of these breaths, or until you start to feel really tingly. You don't have to be dogmatic about any of this; they are just guidelines until you get a feel for it. I recommend a steady cadence, and you can go at whatever pace you like.
      3) Once you've finished your breaths, _exhale and hold your breath_ . Do not inhale, this is an exhale-breath-hold. Now just relax, and allow yourself to feel whatever sensations you're experiencing. You will be completely fine, and the more calm you stay, the longer you'll be able to hold your breath.
      4) When you can't hold the exhale-breath-hold anymore, take a deep breath and hold your breath again! This time you're doing an inhale-breath-hold, like normal. When you can't hold your breath anymore, you've completed 1 cycle!
      It's recommended you do 3 cycles; the more you do, the deeper you go, and the longer you can hold your breath. Give it a go, and see if it helps you. I hope it does.

    I have tennis elbow. Will this strengthener help me?

    • @LB-vl3qn
      @LB-vl3qn 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a doctor, but tennis elbow is caused by tiny tears in the ligaments. Rest is the treatment, to give the injured tissue a chance to mend. When I have tennis elbow, the only thing that gets rid of it is complete rest of the afflicted arm for three straight days. I would think working an already stressed ligament would not be smart. Maybe wait until you're healed to try strengthening. HTH. ~ Lisa

      Did you see an ortho doctor? I have trouble picking up over 40lbs in left hand. I'm a former weight lifter. I have no hand strength anymore. I think I have carpel tunnel.

    • @supernothing77
      @supernothing77 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rygarq2 nah, but I did see a chiropractor (which was a complete waste of time) It's usually golfer's/inner elbow that bothers me but lately my wrist hurts so bad I'm wearing a store bought splint... not sure what I did. I was making progress. I was taking supplements but ran out although not sure if that's the difference maker. Even though I had the wrist curl issue in the past I could still lift heavy and grip to an extent, I also could do reverse curls, and fingertip planks. Have you checked out a Theraband or Cando twist bar? that was the first exercise equipment that really worked for me.

    • @rygarq2
      @rygarq2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@supernothing77 I will have to look into that. Thanks.

    • @supernothing77
      @supernothing77 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah look into the twist bands and start off light. take vitamin b6 and wear a splint or brace. I work your extensor muscles some too but you probably already knew that. It's just the weirdest thing with me. I could wrist curl 25 lbs easy (which was probably a terrible idea) then went to not being able to curl 5 pound reps without grabbing the ice. here lately I think I just overdid something with my grip training.. or some other exercise I need to weed out
