    Your film look in this video is amazing it attracts me so continue to watch this video, and I want to thank u for informations about photography, now I’m preparing for an interview with a cruise ship and I’m looking for some advices especially for someone with no experience in this field and without a conversational English, I speak English but not like you 😂

      Hope you had a good interview! Thank you for watching! It depends strongly on the company, I am not sure what the specific questions are but as long as you are an experienced photographer and worked with people before, you should be fine. Best of luck in the new adventure !

    I worked on Cruise Ships as a photographer in its heyday when there was good money and freedom to be had . It was of course all shot on film , using our own equipment - I had Nikon F3 and then F4 plus a Mamiya . I made in my first contract I was making $300-400 a week ( on a 800 pass ship ) Dolpin 4 out of Miami - my last year and I was Photo Manager I was making approx $700 - $800 per week on a 800 passenger ship - a greek cruise ship operating out of Peraues , Greece . So my age was 20 when I started to 26 finished .. I had studied photography in fashion , Advertising and Editorial Higher National Diploma in Photography at Plymouth College from 1987-1989 shooting on film ( negatives C-41 and Transparancies - E6 ) anyone of my vintage would know what I mean .. Im over 50 years old .. it was the good times .. but it was bloody hard work and you had to start from the bottom and work you way up ..

    Beautiful. I am looking forward to the same at P&O cruises, can you tell me anything about the gadget requirements and other eligibility? I am a self-taught photographer for 7-8 years and have a 1 month course certificate too. Have covered streets, weddings, portraits etc.

    Some more in depth videos about life of a cruise ship photographer would be outstanding. Not sure why you don't have more subs, but you should.

      @@DanielaBuda Well, my background with photography is I've been doing it for about 6, almost 7 years now. Not so much doing portraiture, but I have done some. I've also served in the U.S. Navy, so being on a boat at sea is nothing new to me, and I actually enjoyed it all things considered. Obviously being on a cruise won't be like serving onboard a Navy ship, but I've got plenty of experience living and working in tight quarters.
      Given my experience with those two things, I guess I'm just overall interested in your experience and the job itself. Because of my experience with both, I'm heavily considering applying for a staff photographer job on multiple different cruise lines.

    Salutare!
    Multa bafta!

      Bună Cristian! Thank you for being here!
      Am sa fac ma documentez despre modelele despre care mi-ai spus.
      Mulțumesc!

    Hi, I have multiple questions. What would be the ideal camera and lens (if I only had one of each) ? I am Austrian but I live in the Indian ocean, how can I have an addresse and bank account in Europe without actually living there to work for a European cruise company, I would like to give up my residency in Africa and just work on a ship for a couple of years? How much of the photography one does is flash photography? Is it a shitty job, I already saw some videos it being like slavery? I speak fluent German, English and French, would that be an asset getting a job on a ship?

    • @DanielaBuda
      @DanielaBuda  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Griffith
      Ideal camera and lens highly depends on the type of photography. If you're asking what to buy for a cruise ship job you don't need to, they usually provide the gear. I'd double check if I were you.
      There are bank accounts like Revolut and Wise which you can create overseas.
      You'll need to get comfortable using a flash or studio lights.
      I love what I do. It depends on the person and the company you work for. The experience can be very different
      I hope this helps xx

    • @DanielaBuda
      @DanielaBuda  ปีที่แล้ว

      English is imperative. The other ones are great to know but not required. Depends where the cruise ship sails

      @@DanielaBuda I am into videography, is there a possibility to do videos also as part of the job? Thank you for all the information. Do you know a cruise line that treats their photographers well? I prefer to get treated well and earn less if this is how it works.

    • @DanielaBuda
      @DanielaBuda  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, video can be a possibility but you need strong photography skills. I only worked for CUK which own P&O and Cunard and I've been treated well all along.

    Can you explain how to apply what is that process??

    • @DanielaBuda
      @DanielaBuda  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure. It's mainly along the lines of you find the job, send your CV, have an interview. All the instructions and questions happen at and after that stage.
      Do some research on what cruise line you want to work for. If photography is not in house, the cruise line has it listed on their website as partners. You find the jobs listed either on the cruise line or LinkedIn. Unsure of everyone's particular requirements but it's pretty basic

    What qualifications do the photographers need?

    • @DanielaBuda
      @DanielaBuda  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, be a confident photographer. No qualification needed if you can show a portfolio, client work and experience. Check the requirements when applying. It's a demanding job so experience and confidence in shooting people is important

    • @fiuttello
      @fiuttello ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to know how to make people buy crappy photos while you are dressed up in a silly costume . Photography skills are not a priority. If you're passionate photographer leaning towards art in photography this job is not for you.
