- Why the Chicago Cubs Should Target Tanner Scott in Free Agency ⚾
The Chicago Cubs need to address their bullpen this offseason, and I believe left-handed pitcher Tanner Scott could be the perfect fit. While there’s no indication that the Cubs have reached out to Scott, adding a reliable closer like him would be a game-changing move for the team.
Scott has put together an impressive career with a 3.56 ERA and 486 strikeouts over 368.2 innings pitched. As a closer, he’s proven he can handle pressure, racking up 12 saves during his time in the majors. His electric stuff and ability to miss bats would make him a key asset in late-game situations.
For the Cubs, having a solid left-handed closer isn’t just a luxury-it’s a necessity. Tanner Scott would bring balance to the pitching staff and help Chicago take a big step toward contending in the NL Central.
Do you think the Cubs should pursue Scott? Let me know in the comments!

We need this guy. Can’t wait
He doesn’t impact getting a SP. and we need him. Sign him
I hated our bullpen. This would make me love them
Good signing
Solid signing if it happens
After Burnes going to the Dback, Cubs need to start being aggressive again
We have had a bad bullpen the last few years, yet, we have the money and aren't signing bullpen guys. It doesn't make sense to me
We need a guy who is feared to close out the ninth inning that is what tanner brings ,fear
Hey Justin, how you doing? Listen, I think you gotta do a little more research before you start naming names of pictures that are available. Particularly burns. He signed a six years for $210 million. And the cups aren’t gonna sign any legit player they’re gonna wait for perhaps a 3rd tier 4 tier player. That’s their model don’t spend money. Let’s rent a player for a year or two years and see what happens.
Hoyer going cheap on the bullpen year after year knowing how many losses it caused is comparable to poles never getting a oline . You do realize Saski is capped at 8 million around. ?
