My mother is the same way. She looks at it with an optimistic mind and always tells people that it could be worse, that she thanks God she at least knows what it is so she can face the future confidently. I have always admired Kate that she is so active with the alz society and a national spokesperson. When I have the ability, I want to do the same thing with the ms society.
Knowing the affects of the disease, I am truly sorry that you have a friend who suffers from it. :(
    Hugs back

Oh my gosh. I TOTALLY broke down just now. It painfully reminds me of when my grandpa was diagnosed when I was little....... he died in 2005. Love you, Grandpa.

I have to say I started crying for two reasons. For one thing, when they said she couldn't do something of the things that brought her happiness and the camera swept across the Young Chang piano...
as a pianist myself, it breaks my heart to see someone with lost ability...
and for the other thing, my mother was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis...
I know what Kate must have gone through when she first found her mother had Alzheimer's...
