Shouldn't the success formula be Skill x hard work x duration x luck (not divided by luck.) If you're luck is less than average it would be .9 or less and if it's above average then 1.1 or higher. Also, successful young you-tubers are good role models; they didn't get to the top by genetics (though a few have that 'Human Golden Retriever' factor, many aren't even decent looking; like MrBeast's gang and Logan Paul's crew.) If you want a top athlete with poor genetics, Jose Canseco overcame scoliosis and juvenile arthritis to become the greatest athlete in the world in 1988 and still a top athlete over a decade later and still occasionally playing independent leagues 17 years after being blacklisted by baseball 13 years before other top steroid players like A-Rod (who nobody even likes, look at the comment on 'The Other Guys.')
Very good video. I dislike these "How I made my 1st mill by 19 TH-camrs". Zero reason because theyre success and young. But because they market themselves as getting it from their hardwork and intelligence but intentionally leave out details about their family history. They came from money. None of them grew up poor or middle class. Yes they are still motivated, ambitious, and intelligent. But they hadfinancial backing, family education, and affluent connections.

You give me the same vibe my high school statistics teacher gave me. Essentially “doubt all the numbers”. The quote at the beginning “the numbers don’t lie, but I can make them say anything” sums it up perfectly.

thats the thing with statisitics i realized over time, its full and full of misinformation and factors you dont think about, so take it with a grain of salt
I found the book How To Lie With Statistics when I was ~13. Also, in college I toOK the course on how to read a study and the classes takeaway was about how much BS there is in science. Just look at the Health, Fitness and Wellness arena. Other arenas arenas just arenas results bad, even though they are as research taken for gospel.

This is me too. I don't want to be rich, I want to be comfortable. I'm currently building a 1 bedroom mid century home on a huge lot, with alot a garden space and a great workshop. I don't need a mansion. I don't been a fancy car because public transport has been reliable and great. I have more time to focus on myself, travels and hobbies because I'm not spending all my time working towards becoming a millionaire. It's a very fulfilling and stressfree way to live.
I am not gonna lie, these youtubers really made me feel like a failure who is just doing his job and paying bills. In last few months I started hating my job, until now I realized that I dont really hate my job as much as these people make me do. Thanks for opening my eyes!!
I can relate to this! It's frustrating to watch all these TH-camrs making $$$$$, when you're grinding in a high skilled job making $$. It can be super disheartening. But playing the long game might pay off more. Investing wisely, building your skillset, and eventually creating your own business in your industry is a solid strategy as well.
The main problem is the financial system. The rich are just siphoning off money from the middle class and governments. I don't dislike rich people and wish everyone the best and they probably don't realize how hard it is for the average person these days. Between taxation and inflation the working class slowly got poorer, the gold standard at least kept checks and balances in place.
This video is massively important, especially for the youth(like me). It's really easy to feel that you're not doing enough especially when you see people younger than you doing insane numbers left and right. Statistically speaking a millionaire in their early twenties is like a unicorn, but they seem to be everywhere all over social media. The reality is that everything isn't always as it seems, and at the end of the day, with some good video production skills anyone can be anything they say they are if they can sell it good enough.
Yes they seem to be everywhere, yet we know for a fact that it’s extraordinarily rare. Now stay with me here…do you think some of them might be completely lying?
Or it's daddy's money and they need to branch out by trying to sell shit to impressionable yutes to keep the lifestyle going. You hear some of this guys talking and you see the red flags from a mile away, that guy immitating the Enron scam has some videos where he clearly shows he was born with his ass turned up to the moon. Like one friend millionaire I have says: the best advice I have is to have a rich af dad.
I love how you said, in a comment, "it's all about how success looks to YOU". That is my biggest take away from this because, seeing all of these hustle mindset videos being imposed consistently can make us anxious, drained, and go down a route of chasing dreams instead of appreciating the moment that we are in now. There is so much to be grateful for. To everyone seeking success, just do your absolute best but don't forget to take care of your mental health; your mind, body, and spirit needs you too.
It's crazy that people don't realize THEY get to define success fo rthemselves. Once you realize that, you can rig the game to guarantee success because YOU make the rules.
As a 21 year old girl who has been living alone for over a year and pays bills, and works a full time job just to make ends meet this is honestly really helpful, I know I’m smart enough to do what they do but the pressure of mistakes really makes me go into this whole cycle of being terrified of the future, knowing other people are making mistakes so openly makes me feel a lot better, I wish more entrepreneurs would express how they felt when they were my age and what anxiety’s they still have and how they over come that
I'm glad you're finding these videos helpful. Just know that you're not alone and that all of us, regardless of where we are on the journey, have struggles. Also, don't lose sight of the fact that you're still SO young and you have a ton of time ahead of you. Be patient.
All business has risk. Prepare to fail many times. Learn from your mistakes though. If that makes you uncomfortable, then you may have an employee mentality. You have to be able to step out of your comfort zone and keep taking progressively larger risks.
I am soooo happy and grateful that someone is talking about that. About 5 years ago, i also was watching a lot of those kind of videos, but with time i noticed that most of them are just liars. The worst of it is, that so many people feel so bad, because they make it seem to be so easy to get rich, but it is just not. Y'all stay strong and keep doing the hard work💪

Man you really keep it 100%. I've seen a lot of videos that make me scratch my head because they are throwing big terms and numbers around without anything to back it up. Screenshots of 1 day's revenue and multiply by 30 to form a monthly projection when you know damn well they picked the best day to show you. Only showing positive returns on their portfolio etc... They are truly showing the bestest of the best highlight reels and so many people are fooled by the facade. Man we need more people like you for reals, thank you Anthony.
Hi Anthony, thanks for sharing your video. I really appreciated it and learned a lot from it. The points about my dream house and the difference between speculation and investing really stuck with me. However, I wanted to clarify a few things for clarity. 1.) When I made the video, I was talking about the numbers I was making at that time. When I mentioned my 7-figure agency, the month before we had made around 58,000 in sales and mostly profit. So, when I said it would easily sell for over a million, I meant at that specific point in time. 2.) When I tell my fans that they are just like me, Im not lying. I started out as a normal kid and through a lot of hard work and a constant obsession to improve, I became who I am today. I am completely dedicated to becoming the best version of myself in every aspect of my life. While I appreciate your comparison to LeBron James, it's simply not true. This also relates to the success equation, as I was upset when you dismissed the importance of hard work and time. I have worked incredibly hard and it's not just been luck that has gotten me where I am. When I was 18, I lost almost all of the money I had made through a scam. Then, when I was 21, I was sued for 200,000 which was very stressful and set me back. And just last year, I temporarily lost 500,000 (which I will be getting back) long story lol. I'll turn 24 in 9 days and I have been working hard since I was 16, flipping go-karts and furniture while also working at a car wash. That means I've been working hard for almost 8 years, which is a lot of time. I 100% deserve everything I have achieved, there were many times when I wanted to give up, but I persisted. 3.) When you described me as a genius marketer who discovered gold and created an entire team to scale and extract money, etc., it wasn't accurate. I am not a genius, just slightly above average in intelligence (118 IQ). I just work very hard while most men play video games, complain, party, go to college ect. TH-cam was never meant to be a business for me until this year. It started as a way for me to help other kids and share information about drop shipping that I learned through my own experience. It was always meant to be a way to help people. Now that it has grown so much, it became a business. It was not some elaborate strategy to take advantage of a golden opportunity in the finance space. While I wish I could claim to be that savvy and intelligent, it's simply not true. i just wanted to help and it turned into something so big. At the time I filmed that video i really was making 10K+ per day in cash (excluding the house, which I appreciate you mentioning). However numbers can change over time and that does not mean i'm lying. A few months later, I had a run for a few weeks where I consistently made 40K profit per day from a business. Currently, that is no longer the case, but who knows what the future will hold ;) Its also worth mentioning that i don't have a corse to sell anyone... i have a FREE course that anyone can join in which we make money off some affiliate links but thats it. I don't have some grand plan to get people to think i'm someone i'm not just to sell them a course, i genuinely don't care of people like me or not, i just doing my own thing lol. I’ve come to notice that as long as the influencer gets a call right just one time then some people will forever look at the influencer as “legit”. It doesn’t even matter how many calls they get wrong because they got one right. The people being influenced can’t fathom the fact that a influencer with a large following will cause a large pump and most times, the people being influenced won’t connect the two. It also comes down to a person’s ego more than anything else because it’s very difficult for most people to be honest with themselves and accept that maybe, just maybe they were duped. “I’m too smart to be duped” attitude is what makes them susceptible to being duped. It’s very refreshing to see some honesty coming from a finance channel. Thank you for making this video because it can help reasonable people, not all people because some of them are too far gone.

Hello Mr. Vicino, I'm a 15 year old who would watch these people for advice until I got an odd feeling. Thank you so much for this video as it sums up what I couldn't put into words. I was so confused before this video, so thank you again. :) Edit: As a little backstory I knew starting a business and becoming a millionaire was my dream for the past few years now. I grew up with a single mother and money was always something hard to come by. I think what made me blindly follow what Iman Gadzhi says would be because of our similar background. I do still find him inspiring, but this video really brought to light the bigger picture for me. Once again, thank you so much!

Came here from a recent Vox article about the pseudo-science of "passive income bro influencers" and this video exceeded my expectations. Some of this stuff needs criticized without mercy because it has already hurt people unjustly, but it's not a question fit for more click-bait bs. I appreciate the humane precision of the criticism and authentic disclosures regarding your similarities to the subjects of this video. That's a big deal because it speaks to the values of a leader, not a mere marketer or salesman. I'm new to the channel, so I could still find some reasons to ask questions down the road, but you have some goodwill and a sub from me for this excellent work.
Very informative and extremely helpful to pass through the bs. I’ve never seen someone break down exactly how it’s misleading in this way. The more complex and education it takes to understand the easier it is to mislead huge numbers of people. You have to become really savvy to see through some of these guys. It took awhile to realize how misleading these videos can be, or how a lot of TH-camrs are making money from their channel and leading you to believe they were already successful. I also appreciate how you included yourself as examples and explained the difference.

I think a message that can be taught to just about any young person is that you should always learn from the right people. Learn from people who've genuinely worked hard and for a long period of time to reach that goal, not from someone who doesn't know what they're talking about or had just gotten the bag and act like they know everything in the field.
thus, it boils down to judgment. Finding the 'right people' can be tricky at times especially when you're not experienced(meaning young) enough to truly gauge if that one person you're dealing with is the right person to learn to. It is sometimes hard to teach/learn good judgment as it requires good instinct as well as good grasp of fundamental knowledge in order to give/get some value out of it.
Your 1000% right. Being the son of an entrepreneur I can vouch for what your saying. Most people that don’t know any better they tell you about how a business is doing gross. Forgetting net profit. In my fathers business profit was usually 10-15 percent annual.
I think a lot of people would be surprised to learn just how "little" most companies actually net. It's only when you come from that world that you really understand the nuance! Thanks for sharing, Richard!

An unspoken problem is that they’re telling young people that hustling is the best way to make it. But I think what’s required is to actually know who you are so you gift something authentic to the world. Otherwise you’re just competing against all the other hungry folks trying to *take* instead of giving. Most people who made it BIG never thought “I hope to be a millionaire,” they pursued self realization.

Learn for 15 years. Then start new company, have connections and knowledge. Most people I know that make millions did this path. I'm on path to being a millionaire at under 35 because I joined a successful startup-ish and got equity.

Thanks for pointing out what should be "'obvious" to anyone who takes a few minutes to contemplate what these guys are saying and doing. The only category I think you might have overlooked is that no one can become successful in any venture, no matter what it might be, unless they have "Connections" - whatever that might be for each person. No one succeeds without CONNECTIONS - THE "RIGHT" CONNECTIONS.
Here's a concept worth keeping in mind: "Your network is your net worth." In a very real way, if I was to go back to $0, I could rebuild to where I currently am in only a fraction of the time because I have 1) the skills and 2) the network. In the beginning, you probably lack both of those, which is why it's so hard to get meaningful traction.

Ah, that's a bummer. Sorry they didn't bring you value, friend. There's a lot of crappy courses out there, but don't give up on them entirely. There are also a ton of great courses out there.
As for the TOP money making skill imo 1: Sales - the ability to convert a non buyer to buyer and yes this includes hooking up lol 2: Marketing - the ability to FEED MORE people into your sales pipeline by effective eyeball attraction, aka traffic. 3: automation- the ability to optimize the difference between time spent working and time spent actually leveraging your operation for maximal impact.
I saw the title and thought „aight, gonna be some bs exposed video.“ But after I gave it a shot and heard what you have to say, I am impressed. There a not a lot people like you on TH-cam who put their opinion out, making clear it‘s their opinion or try to argument objectively why they think a certain way, just to show it (and not convince someone of their „superior“ way of thinking/seeing things). Really good Video, hope some others of yours are like that.
Awesome video bro, as someone who’s getting into being a TH-camr in this very niche, I love how you told the truth of how sometimes these millionaires can be misleading. First time I’ve ever seen someone really expose things for how they are.
Instead of dividing by luck, I think a better formula would be to also multiply by luck. Otherwise, dividing by a high amount of luck would decrease the amount of success (all else being equal). The rest of the content was very good and thought provoking.

Brilliant video, I have been watching these two for their TH-cam/marketing strategy to be honest because they are killing it. When it comes to investing I seek out those who have positioned themselves as such and are students of the greats.
These ‘gurus’ aren’t successful business people, just social media influencers who sell online courses where they make 99% of their money. Tate & Gadzhi are classic examples
I'm glad someone called out these fakers! I have been a 'from-scratch' millionaire and a multi-millionaire several times in my life - through investing in real estate and business, but it takes years of consistent actions and experience in every economic trend to generate the kinds of income they are claiming. I keep seeing these guys pop up on my feed and you only have to dig a little deeper with market instruments to see it's all a house of cards! Respect to you and everyone out there who is trying to make it. At 25 I was working on cruise ships, there was no way I would have had an opportunity to make a 6-figure income or more. At that age, you're just trying to expand your world and gain as much experience as you can in as broad a way as you can. As it should be.

Quick question and I hope you don’t mind me asking but How did you come up with the money to get into real estate to begin with? Many just say what they ended up with but I’ve never heard about how they got the capital in the first place to get there. From what I notice. If they come from parents who have money. That parent was usually the very hard worker and even then, some luck was involved. Then their off springs are lent some money etc etc. the other way is usually things such as being a ‘dealer’ or for women when they become a high end adult worker. I’ve only heard of very few getting it from a 9-5.
If you live in the US you can probably become rich. What you can't become is young and rich. Young and rich takes a tremendous amount of luck. I remember watching a Graham Stephen video and just complaining in the comments section because he was pushing real estate to get rich. He was talking about what he did in like 2010 buying on high leverage and just getting a bunch of properties. I was like bro, me and a bunch of friends did that in the early 2000s and you know what happened? Everyone I know got wiped out in 2008 due to said leverage. If you bought real estate after '08 you made bank. That was pure luck that you were at the right age at the right time to catch a boom, but don't tell others that they'll get rich doing that because they won't. Cheap houses were over and it became far more risky to be in real estate.
@@BeautifulEarthJa Didn't see this comment a couple of months ago, but in my experience there's huge demand for competent workers. I don't care where you work. You can be at McDonalds. If you do a great job you will move up and by the time you're in your 30s you'll be making bank. If you take that money and invest it instead of being victim to lifestyle creep you'll be rich by your 60s.
After watching a few youtubes outing fake gurus or those gurus themselves I figured how they calculated their net worth or profit. I'm glad this video is out there I hope young people dont fall into these lies and that it's easy to become rich.

Love this channel. You delve into whats actually happening and exposing how these gurus use dubious tactics. Have been working on dropshipping for awhile. These TH-cam gurus make it seem like it's super easy and that anyone can do it. It actually takes hard work and and overnight success is slim to none. Shopify has a stat that says 99% of online businesses on their platform fail. It's good to be motivated but don't fall for the trap of running a business is easy.

Wow! This is a great video. I am working on a teaching certificate and I think I am going to incorporate this video into my lessons. You talk about something that would be interesting to teens, you would help bring home the message to think critically, and the same time you are very fair to the people you critique, and you show people why they should be skeptical about information online. Most important, you drive home the message that money isn't free- you explain the difference between investing and speculation better than I have seen anyone do it. I have never gone after money. I always worked to make a difference to people. Unfortunately I am older now and have nothing to show for it. I wish I had thought about this when I was younger.
Most of these young "millionaires" only have the money they make off their videos. You can always tell which ones are frauds. They always speak in generalities.
This was posted awhile ago and this won't be seen but I'll throw my two cents. I'm not millionaire but its not really my goal (and frankly, I know a ton of uber wealthy people). 32 years old, $175k a year base, Director at a Fortune 500 at 28 and an executive at 30 at a smaller firm. If you are young and want a path forward watch this video. Stop watching all of the other young guys and only compare yourself to yourself. Also, the most important thing is to DO and then ANALYZE. Life is habit and iteration. Do, analyze, learn, repeat. This guys advice is a bit over the top but is probably the realest thing I have seen on TH-cam in A VERY long time. Definitely subscribing.
There's a saying, "be at the right place at the right time," plus a little luck and there you go, you made it! As I've figured, a lot of those guys made most of their money during the crypto bull run, cashed out and diversified into more traditional assets, so now they chill, nothing wrong with that. So yeah, they might give good motivational speeches and decent advice for the average person but don't take all their advices to heart and think you'll be crazy rich fast. After all, if it was that simple, we would have all becoming millionaires in less than a year. Great video!

In my opinion the mindset they teach is very good. I read some comments where people are speaking about how they felt bad and worthless. They have the wrong perspective. You should think about them as a judgement/motivation to be better than you are. On the other side you'll never find a straight path to success. You have to find it. They are just showing you the direction.
I agree. These guys are a great source of inspiration (and in a lot of cases, education). Comparing yourself to others is a great way to feel "less than". But if you look to others as a source of guidance ,to figure out what worked for them and why, then you're on the fast track to success.

Excellent video, Anthony! Please make more videos like this. These dishonest grifters need to be held accountable. A couple of other points that you could perhaps address in a future video: 1. Many of these kids actually had rich parents/grandparents that gave them the seed money to start their business. They will often lie and say they started from scratch, when in reality, their parents gifted/loaned them $50K-$100K+ to start their business, invest, trade, etc. Starting with that much capital can make the difference between success and failure. 2. Most of these kids actually make their money via selling online courses and coaching programs, not from being successful traders, investors, etc. If they're as successful in their craft as they claim to be, they should be able to furnish audited profit/loss statements, balance sheets, and/or financial statements. Most of the time they can't or won't do that. 3. Some of the bigger influencers are paid huge sums to sponsor certain companies. Graham Stephan was paid $50K per month to promote FTX. When it collapsed, his fans lost millions. 4. Some 20-year-old kid, with minimal business and/or investing experience, should not be giving investing/trading advice, especially if they're not properly licensed.
@Skuld's Records On the audited statements, I would love to see audited statements for these guys businesses. I am not skeptical, but as someone with an accounting background, I'd like to see how much real, recognized revenue they make in a year, and whether they are using appropriate vs. aggressive accounting practices. Also, how on earth would someone have a decade of experience at 20? Are you saying they started working at 10?
@Skuld's Records these are not excuses, they are facts. If they are so rich, why the heck are they selling courses? It's because that's how they make 90% of their money. When will you wake up young kids? There's a saying, if you know, you do, if you don't, you teach.
@@bxsed they sell courses to make even more money, its a simple formula : 1) get good at something 2) teach others and make even more money from it. Selling courses doesn't mean you aren't successful already. Don't lump all course-sellers together. There are some bad apples out there, but also many many genuinely good courses from people who really know what they're doing.

Wise words, that will hopefully help many young folk. I confirm, as a 62 year old wealthy boomer, that there are no shortcuts to achieving wealth. Being rich or speculating are no guarantee of success, it’s what you keep over time that makes you wealthy, live within your means and invest.
I get the feeling that these youtubers grinded their way to the top, and because they realise that they got competition, they don't want to create further competition for themselves, and so they're making you waste your time into watching their videos and enter the youtube rabbit hole to delay you and stress you out and make you anxious, and then scare you away into eventually giving up. Not give up cause you realize you have a different purpose, but give up feeling miserable and depressed, cause you feel inferior about them. It's a dangerous mental game they're playing collectively, and i won't fall for it.
That luck part is completely true, they talk about how they used skill and how we can use it to and then talk about a particular opportunity they had that we probably won't have till we die. 😫

This video was needed for me. I turn 24 tomorrow, working a job that doesn’t fulfill me what-so-ever. I find it hard to not get down on myself & anxious about where I’m at in life. Trying to build some things that surround my passion. Just going to keep showing up & putting in the work.
I feel you, I just turned 23 and was in a similar boat to you in some sense. If there's anything you can take from these guys is stay sober, don't turn to instant pleasure when you feel down, develop a routine, eat better, exercise, and spend at least a bit of time EVERY day working on something you think could make you your own boss at some point. There's honestly so many things you could do, video editing, filming, online freelance, just find what you think you would like and be good at and keep trying. Dont give up man

Great video, very well said! I actually occasionally watch both these TH-camrs and honestly, Ive learned more from this video alone than any of theirs. Like you said their stuff is very inspirational and have always had a few good point but I always left feeling like I'm missing something and sure enough its the "gotta be in the right place at the right time" aka luck. Your video was very down to earth and I appreciate that. Gotta keep up the hard work and never stop the grind!

Hey man i appreciate this. I'm glad there are people with actual experience that are willing to help others and keep things real and transparent. A lot of these youtubers are smart and helpful, but when they give tips they use the mindset of a millionaire and not an average joe trying to get richer, which 99% of the viewers are. When you're teaching others i fully believe you should think of their situation and their thought process first so things are more helpful and make more sense to them.
I appreciate that! I think you're spot on. You have to speak to your audience where they are, not where they hope to be. That's what I aim for, at least. Hopefully I succeed more often than not.

It's very important that we don't "marry" a creator's content, instead we can watch multiple creators and extract the best things from then, from that point with that knowledge creating our personal criteria and way of seeing life. Excellent video you got a new subscriber
I always say "Profit" when I say my totals in posts and video titles. Everyone (especially drop shipping world) loves to use revenue. But what is the point when they claim $4 million in revenue but spent 4.2 million on ads? That is a loss. Yes, there are some people claiming they make millions and actually are losing money. I think it should be a rule to always post your profit numbers as well as your revenue. Be honest and transparent that is how you make sales on your courses about how to make money. They give us "real" creators a bad rap.
Thank you for this video! I'm 25, started investing in January 2020. As I'm from Europe, I started following some American TH-camrs to be on the loop on US news. While I believe some are genuinely trying to help, it is very easy to get excited with what they say about their investments and then start gambling instead of investing. Of course they always say "do your own diligence, this is not financial advice", but come on, you present yourself as a successful millionaire, of course people will unconsciously try to copy what you say/do.

I've seen it all: 40 years investing in real estate, 33 years as a software engineer, and now retired and sold my real estate to trade currencies and still practicing martial arts that I've been doing for well over 50 years. Nothing wrong with "investing" or "speculating". But you do have to understand implicitly not only the rules for each area of work, but also those more fluid probabilistic based decisions against a large sample size of attempts such that over the long run you have a good win to loss ratio of whatever it is that you're doing. Good luck with that if you haven't put the time into work and study. Having a B.S. in Physics and almost minor in math, it's easy for me to identify that number fudging you are talking about. Man, it's out there. It's EVERYWHERE. You have to be soooooo careful who you trust....
I love the probabilistic approach to "success". Life is not a series of right and wrong answers as school would like us to believe. It's all a spectrum of potential events leading to varying degrees of outcomes. It's about understanding the spectrum and trying to position your actions accordingly. Thanks for being here. Shouldn't the success formula be Skill x hard work x duration x luck (not divided by luck.) If you're luck is less than average it would be .9 or less and if it's above average then 1.1 or higher. Also, successful young you-tubers are good role models; they didn't get to the top by genetics (though a few have that 'Human Golden Retriever' factor, many aren't even decent looking; like MrBeast's gang and Logan Paul's crew.) If you want a top athlete with poor genetics, Jose Canseco overcame scoliosis and juvenile arthritis to become the greatest athlete in the world in 1988 and still a top athlete over a decade later and still occasionally playing independent leagues 17 years after being blacklisted by baseball 13 years before other top steroid players like A-Rod (who nobody even likes, look at the comment on 'The Other Guys.')

But because they market themselves as getting it from their hardwork and intelligence but intentionally leave out details about their family history. They came from money. Also, in college I toOK the course on how to read a study and the classes takeaway was about how much BS there is in science. Just look at the Health, Fitness and Wellness arena. Other arenas arenas just arenas results bad, even though they are as research taken for gospel.

This is me too. I don't want to be rich, I want to be comfortable. I'm currently building a 1 bedroom mid century home on a huge lot, with alot a garden space and a great workshop. I don't need a mansion. I don't been a fancy car because public transport has been reliable and great. I have more time to focus on myself, travels and hobbies because I'm not spending all my time working towards becoming a millionaire. It's a very fulfilling and stressfree way to live.

It's frustrating to watch all these TH-camrs making $$$$$, when you're grinding in a high skilled job making $$. It can be super disheartening.
But playing the long game might pay off more. Investing wisely, building your skillset, and eventually creating your own business in your industry is a solid strategy as well.
The main problem is the financial system. The rich are just siphoning off money from the middle class and governments. I don't dislike rich people and wish everyone the best and they probably don't realize how hard it is for the average person these days.
Between taxation and inflation the working class slowly got poorer, the gold standard at least kept checks and balances in place.
Not only that, but a lot of them either came from money, or they’re in debt.
This video is massively important, especially for the youth(like me). It's really easy to feel that you're not doing enough especially when you see people younger than you doing insane numbers left and right. Statistically speaking a millionaire in their early twenties is like a unicorn, but they seem to be everywhere all over social media. The reality is that everything isn't always as it seems, and at the end of the day, with some good video production skills anyone can be anything they say they are if they can sell it good enough.

You hear some of this guys talking and you see the red flags from a mile away, that guy immitating the Enron scam has some videos where he clearly shows he was born with his ass turned up to the moon. That is my biggest take away from this because, seeing all of these hustle mindset videos being imposed consistently can make us anxious, drained, and go down a route of chasing dreams instead of appreciating the moment that we are in now. There is so much to be grateful for. To everyone seeking success, just do your absolute best but don't forget to take care of your mental health; your mind, body, and spirit needs you too.
It's crazy that people don't realize THEY get to define success fo rthemselves. Once you realize that, you can rig the game to guarantee success because YOU make the rules.
As a 21 year old girl who has been living alone for over a year and pays bills, and works a full time job just to make ends meet this is honestly really helpful, I know I’m smart enough to do what they do but the pressure of mistakes really makes me go into this whole cycle of being terrified of the future, knowing other people are making mistakes so openly makes me feel a lot better, I wish more entrepreneurs would express how they felt when they were my age and what anxiety’s they still have and how they over come that
I'm glad you're finding these videos helpful. Just know that you're not alone and that all of us, regardless of where we are on the journey, have struggles.
Also, don't lose sight of the fact that you're still SO young and you have a ton of time ahead of you. Be patient.
All business has risk. Prepare to fail many times. Learn from your mistakes though. If that makes you uncomfortable, then you may have an employee mentality. You have to be able to step out of your comfort zone and keep taking progressively larger risks.

Man you really keep it 100%. I've seen a lot of videos that make me scratch my head because they are throwing big terms and numbers around without anything to back it up. Screenshots of 1 day's revenue and multiply by 30 to form a monthly projection when you know damn well they picked the best day to show you. Only showing positive returns on their portfolio etc... They are truly showing the bestest of the best highlight reels and so many people are fooled by the facade. Man we need more people like you for reals, thank you Anthony.

Hi Anthony, thanks for sharing your video. I really appreciated it and learned a lot from it. The points about my dream house and the difference between speculation and investing really stuck with me.
However, I wanted to clarify a few things for clarity.
1.) When I made the video, I was talking about the numbers I was making at that time. When I mentioned my 7-figure agency, the month before we had made around 58,000 in sales and mostly profit. So, when I said it would easily sell for over a million, I meant at that specific point in time.
2.) When I tell my fans that they are just like me, Im not lying. I started out as a normal kid and through a lot of hard work and a constant obsession to improve, I became who I am today. I am completely dedicated to becoming the best version of myself in every aspect of my life.
While I appreciate your comparison to LeBron James, it's simply not true. This also relates to the success equation, as I was upset when you dismissed the importance of hard work and time.
I have worked incredibly hard and it's not just been luck that has gotten me where I am. When I was 18, I lost almost all of the money I had made through a scam. Then, when I was 21, I was sued for 200,000 which was very stressful and set me back. And just last year, I temporarily lost 500,000 (which I will be getting back) long story lol. I'll turn 24 in 9 days and I have been working hard since I was 16, flipping go-karts and furniture while also working at a car wash.
That means I've been working hard for almost 8 years, which is a lot of time. I 100% deserve everything I have achieved, there were many times when I wanted to give up, but I persisted.
3.) When you described me as a genius marketer who discovered gold and created an entire team to scale and extract money, etc., it wasn't accurate. I am not a genius, just slightly above average in intelligence (118 IQ). I just work very hard while most men play video games, complain, party, go to college ect.
TH-cam was never meant to be a business for me until this year. It started as a way for me to help other kids and share information about drop shipping that I learned through my own experience.
It was always meant to be a way to help people.
Now that it has grown so much, it became a business. It was not some elaborate strategy to take advantage of a golden opportunity in the finance space. While I wish I could claim to be that savvy and intelligent, it's simply not true. i just wanted to help and it turned into something so big.
At the time I filmed that video i really was making 10K+ per day in cash (excluding the house, which I appreciate you mentioning). However numbers can change over time and that does not mean i'm lying. A few months later, I had a run for a few weeks where I consistently made 40K profit per day from a business. Currently, that is no longer the case, but who knows what the future will hold ;)
Its also worth mentioning that i don't have a corse to sell anyone... i have a FREE course that anyone can join in which we make money off some affiliate links but thats it.
I don't have some grand plan to get people to think i'm someone i'm not just to sell them a course, i genuinely don't care of people like me or not, i just doing my own thing lol.

Second, hopefully it was clear in the video, but I actually do have mad respect for what you've built.
Third, there's a section in my video that I sold you a bit short, and I apologize for that. In particular, the Time variable of your success. I mentioned it in a couple replies to other commenters, but the truth is you've been grinding for the better part of a decade and I believe that ANYBODY can achieve incredible success in life if they're willing to dedicate 10 years to the process. You did that and it was wrong of me to downplay that aspect.
Fourth, for anybody reading this, I 100% believe your intentions are pure and that what you're putting out into the world is massively valuable.

I’ve come to notice that as long as the influencer gets a call right just one time then some people will forever look at the influencer as “legit”. It doesn’t even matter how many calls they get wrong because they got one right. The people being influenced can’t fathom the fact that a influencer with a large following will cause a large pump and most times, the people being influenced won’t connect the two. It also comes down to a person’s ego more than anything else because it’s very difficult for most people to be honest with themselves and accept that maybe, just maybe they were duped. “I’m too smart to be duped” attitude is what makes them susceptible to being duped. It’s very refreshing to see some honesty coming from a finance channel. Thank you for making this video because it can help reasonable people, not all people because some of them are too far gone.

Edit: As a little backstory I knew starting a business and becoming a millionaire was my dream for the past few years now. I grew up with a single mother and money was always something hard to come by. I think what made me blindly follow what Iman Gadzhi says would be because of our similar background. I think Iman gives a lot of great advice, so don't tune out everything he says. Just filter it through your own lens and apply some critical thinking. If you do, you'll discover the parts that'll serve you and ignore the parts that don't.

Came here from a recent Vox article about the pseudo-science of "passive income bro influencers" and this video exceeded my expectations.
Some of this stuff needs criticized without mercy because it has already hurt people unjustly, but it's not a question fit for more click-bait bs. I appreciate the humane precision of the criticism and authentic disclosures regarding your similarities to the subjects of this video. That's a big deal because it speaks to the values of a leader, not a mere marketer or salesman. I'm new to the channel, so I could still find some reasons to ask questions down the road, but you have some goodwill and a sub from me for this excellent work.

Very informative and extremely helpful to pass through the bs. I’ve never seen someone break down exactly how it’s misleading in this way. The more complex and education it takes to understand the easier it is to mislead huge numbers of people. You have to become really savvy to see through some of these guys. It took awhile to realize how misleading these videos can be, or how a lot of TH-camrs are making money from their channel and leading you to believe they were already successful. I also appreciate how you included yourself as examples and explained the difference.

I think a message that can be taught to just about any young person is that you should always learn from the right people. Learn from people who've genuinely worked hard and for a long period of time to reach that goal, not from someone who doesn't know what they're talking about or had just gotten the bag and act like they know everything in the field.

thus, it boils down to judgment. Finding the 'right people' can be tricky at times especially when you're not experienced(meaning young) enough to truly gauge if that one person you're dealing with is the right person to learn to. It is sometimes hard to teach/learn good judgment as it requires good instinct as well as good grasp of fundamental knowledge in order to give/get some value out of it.
Your 1000% right. Being the son of an entrepreneur I can vouch for what your saying. Most people that don’t know any better they tell you about how a business is doing gross. Forgetting net profit. In my fathers business profit was usually 10-15 percent annual.
I think a lot of people would be surprised to learn just how "little" most companies actually net.
It's only when you come from that world that you really understand the nuance!

An unspoken problem is that they’re telling young people that hustling is the best way to make it. But I think what’s required is to actually know who you are so you gift something authentic to the world. Otherwise you’re just competing against all the other hungry folks trying to *take* instead of giving. Most people who made it BIG never thought “I hope to be a millionaire,” they pursued self realization.

Thanks for pointing out what should be "'obvious" to anyone who takes a few minutes to contemplate what these guys are saying and doing. The only category I think you might have overlooked is that no one can become successful in any venture, no matter what it might be, unless they have "Connections" - whatever that might be for each person. No one succeeds without CONNECTIONS - THE "RIGHT" CONNECTIONS.
Here's a concept worth keeping in mind:
"Your network is your net worth."
In a very real way, if I was to go back to $0, I could rebuild to where I currently am in only a fraction of the time because I have 1) the skills and 2) the network.
In the beginning, you probably lack both of those, which is why it's so hard to get meaningful traction.
Make the connections then?
If you believe you can't succeed unless someone drags you up with their own success, then you are destined for failure.

1: Sales - the ability to convert a non buyer to buyer and yes this includes hooking up lol
2: Marketing - the ability to FEED MORE people into your sales pipeline by effective eyeball attraction, aka traffic.
3: automation- the ability to optimize the difference between time spent working and time spent actually leveraging your operation for maximal impact.
Sales and Marketing have been two of my super money making skills. HIghly approve.

Instead of dividing by luck, I think a better formula would be to also multiply by luck. Otherwise, dividing by a high amount of luck would decrease the amount of success (all else being equal).

I have been a 'from-scratch' millionaire and a multi-millionaire several times in my life - through investing in real estate and business, but it takes years of consistent actions and experience in every economic trend to generate the kinds of income they are claiming. I keep seeing these guys pop up on my feed and you only have to dig a little deeper with market instruments to see it's all a house of cards! Respect to you and everyone out there who is trying to make it. At 25 I was working on cruise ships, there was no way I would have had an opportunity to make a 6-figure income or more. At that age, you're just trying to expand your world and gain as much experience as you can in as broad a way as you can. As it should be.

Quick question and I hope you don’t mind me asking but How did you come up with the money to get into real estate to begin with? Many just say what they ended up with but I’ve never heard about how they got the capital in the first place to get there. From what I notice. If they come from parents who have money. That parent was usually the very hard worker and even then, some luck was involved. Then their off springs are lent some money etc etc. the other way is usually things such as being a ‘dealer’ or for women when they become a high end adult worker. I’ve only heard of very few getting it from a 9-5.

If you live in the US you can probably become rich. What you can't become is young and rich. Young and rich takes a tremendous amount of luck.
I remember watching a Graham Stephen video and just complaining in the comments section because he was pushing real estate to get rich. He was talking about what he did in like 2010 buying on high leverage and just getting a bunch of properties. I was like bro, me and a bunch of friends did that in the early 2000s and you know what happened?
Everyone I know got wiped out in 2008 due to said leverage. If you bought real estate after '08 you made bank. That was pure luck that you were at the right age at the right time to catch a boom, but don't tell others that they'll get rich doing that because they won't. Cheap houses were over and it became far more risky to be in real estate.
I 100% agree that if you live in the US, you have no excuse for not getting rich. So much opportunity.

If you do a great job you will move up and by the time you're in your 30s you'll be making bank. If you take that money and invest it instead of being victim to lifestyle creep you'll be rich by your 60s.
After watching a few youtubes outing fake gurus or those gurus themselves I figured how they calculated their net worth or profit. I'm glad this video is out there I hope young people dont fall into these lies and that it's easy to become rich.

Love this channel. You delve into whats actually happening and exposing how these gurus use dubious tactics. Have been working on dropshipping for awhile. These TH-cam gurus make it seem like it's super easy and that anyone can do it. It actually takes hard work and and overnight success is slim to none. Shopify has a stat that says 99% of online businesses on their platform fail. It's good to be motivated but don't fall for the trap of running a business is easy.

Wow! This is a great video. I am working on a teaching certificate and I think I am going to incorporate this video into my lessons. You talk about something that would be interesting to teens, you would help bring home the message to think critically, and the same time you are very fair to the people you critique, and you show people why they should be skeptical about information online. Most important, you drive home the message that money isn't free- you explain the difference between investing and speculation better than I have seen anyone do it.
I have never gone after money. I always worked to make a difference to people. Unfortunately I am older now and have nothing to show for it. I wish I had thought about this when I was younger.

This was posted awhile ago and this won't be seen but I'll throw my two cents. I'm not millionaire but its not really my goal (and frankly, I know a ton of uber wealthy people).
32 years old, $175k a year base, Director at a Fortune 500 at 28 and an executive at 30 at a smaller firm. If you are young and want a path forward watch this video. Stop watching all of the other young guys and only compare yourself to yourself. Also, the most important thing is to DO and then ANALYZE. Life is habit and iteration. Do, analyze, learn, repeat. This guys advice is a bit over the top but is probably the realest thing I have seen on TH-cam in A VERY long time. Definitely subscribing.

There's a saying, "be at the right place at the right time," plus a little luck and there you go, you made it! As I've figured, a lot of those guys made most of their money during the crypto bull run, cashed out and diversified into more traditional assets, so now they chill, nothing wrong with that. So yeah, they might give good motivational speeches and decent advice for the average person but don't take all their advices to heart and think you'll be crazy rich fast. After all, if it was that simple, we would have all becoming millionaires in less than a year. Great video!

In my opinion the mindset they teach is very good. I read some comments where people are speaking about how they felt bad and worthless. They have the wrong perspective. You should think about them as a judgement/motivation to be better than you are. On the other side you'll never find a straight path to success. You have to find it. They are just showing you the direction.

Comparing yourself to others is a great way to feel "less than".
But if you look to others as a source of guidance ,to figure out what worked for them and why, then you're on the fast track to success.

Excellent video, Anthony! Please make more videos like this. These dishonest grifters need to be held accountable. A couple of other points that you could perhaps address in a future video: 1. Many of these kids actually had rich parents/grandparents that gave them the seed money to start their business. They will often lie and say they started from scratch, when in reality, their parents gifted/loaned them $50K-$100K+ to start their business, invest, trade, etc. Starting with that much capital can make the difference between success and failure. 2. Most of these kids actually make their money via selling online courses and coaching programs, not from being successful traders, investors, etc. If they're as successful in their craft as they claim to be, they should be able to furnish audited profit/loss statements, balance sheets, and/or financial statements. Most of the time they can't or won't do that. 3. Some of the bigger influencers are paid huge sums to sponsor certain companies. Graham Stephan was paid $50K per month to promote FTX. When it collapsed, his fans lost millions. 4. Some 20-year-old kid, with minimal business and/or investing experience, should not be giving investing/trading advice, especially if they're not properly licensed.

I am not skeptical, but as someone with an accounting background, I'd like to see how much real, recognized revenue they make in a year, and whether they are using appropriate vs. aggressive accounting practices.

Selling courses doesn't mean you aren't successful already. Don't lump all course-sellers together. I get the feeling that these youtubers grinded their way to the top, and because they realise that they got competition, they don't want to create further competition for themselves, and so they're making you waste your time into watching their videos and enter the youtube rabbit hole to delay you and stress you out and make you anxious, and then scare you away into eventually giving up. Not give up cause you realize you have a different purpose, but give up feeling miserable and depressed, cause you feel inferior about them.
It's a dangerous mental game they're playing collectively, and i won't fall for it.

This video was needed for me. I turn 24 tomorrow, working a job that doesn’t fulfill me what-so-ever. I find it hard to not get down on myself & anxious about where I’m at in life. Trying to build some things that surround my passion. Just going to keep showing up & putting in the work.
I feel you, I just turned 23 and was in a similar boat to you in some sense. If there's anything you can take from these guys is stay sober, don't turn to instant pleasure when you feel down, develop a routine, eat better, exercise, and spend at least a bit of time EVERY day working on something you think could make you your own boss at some point. There's honestly so many things you could do, video editing, filming, online freelance, just find what you think you would like and be good at and keep trying. Dont give up man

Hey man i appreciate this. I'm glad there are people with actual experience that are willing to help others and keep things real and transparent. A lot of these youtubers are smart and helpful, but when they give tips they use the mindset of a millionaire and not an average joe trying to get richer, which 99% of the viewers are. When you're teaching others i fully believe you should think of their situation and their thought process first so things are more helpful and make more sense to them.
I appreciate that! I think you're spot on. You have to speak to your audience where they are, not where they hope to be. That's what I aim for, at least. Hopefully I succeed more often than not.
Then you should follow that old guy with the ball head he gives average Joe money advice like saving and being frugal etc and paying off all your bills before you start investing.

It's very important that we don't "marry" a creator's content, instead we can watch multiple creators and extract the best things from then, from that point with that knowledge creating our personal criteria and way of seeing life. Excellent video you got a new subscriber

I always say "Profit" when I say my totals in posts and video titles. Everyone (especially drop shipping world) loves to use revenue. But what is the point when they claim $4 million in revenue but spent 4.2 million on ads? That is a loss. Yes, there are some people claiming they make millions and actually are losing money. I think it should be a rule to always post your profit numbers as well as your revenue. Be honest and transparent that is how you make sales on your courses about how to make money. They give us "real" creators a bad rap.
Profit is a much better way to discuss these things. Great point.
Thank you for this video! I'm 25, started investing in January 2020. As I'm from Europe, I started following some American TH-camrs to be on the loop on US news. While I believe some are genuinely trying to help, it is very easy to get excited with what they say about their investments and then start gambling instead of investing. Of course they always say "do your own diligence, this is not financial advice", but come on, you present yourself as a successful millionaire, of course people will unconsciously try to copy what you say/do.
Great question. How you answer that will largely determine the trajectory of your life.

Thanks for the discussion. I've seen it all: 40 years investing in real estate, 33 years as a software engineer, and now retired and sold my real estate to trade currencies and still practicing martial arts that I've been doing for well over 50 years. Nothing wrong with "investing" or "speculating". But you do have to understand implicitly not only the rules for each area of work, but also those more fluid probabilistic based decisions against a large sample size of attempts such that over the long run you have a good win to loss ratio of whatever it is that you're doing. Good luck with that if you haven't put the time into work and study. Having a B.S. in Physics and almost minor in math, it's easy for me to identify that number fudging you are talking about. Man, it's out there. It's EVERYWHERE. You have to be soooooo careful who you trust....
I love the probabilistic approach to "success". Life is not a series of right and wrong answers as school would like us to believe. It's all a spectrum of potential events leading to varying degrees of outcomes.
It's about understanding the spectrum and trying to position your actions accordingly.

As the Buddhist thought puts it: it's all about "right thinking; right living" that determines your ability actually to see through the clutter of choices to pick the correct choice - a statistically calculate-able number of times that gives you the confidence to keep, keeping on....

Wow. Great video. You have just opened a new perspective for me in perceiving what a millionaire is. I usually think of the Liquid Millionaire, when people say they are millionaires. I didn't think of income millionaire and net worth millionaire.
