  • Sai Nuan Beach actually consists of several smaller beaches. This is another lovely hideaway spot with its unspoilt beach of fine white sand and shallow turquoise water.
There is also a grassy area and coconut trees making it a big natural playground for children. Snorkelling is also good here and the small bays are quite protected. There is lots to see as soon as you enter the water here, particularly around the rocks.
This is home to many fish and green turtles have also been spotted here too.
The atmosphere of this area is peaceful and reminiscent of the early tourism days of Koh Tao in the 80’s and 90’s. Days can easily be spent relaxing under the palm trees reading a book or swimming in the ocean.
It’s a small beach but the sand and sea as well as the atmosphere make it worth a visit.
    Enjoy the video!

This is a nice quote beach. The sand and water are amazing. Another beach with some exciting beach activities is on the other side of the island and features a huge boulder for some rock jumping. Here is the video of it.

Sad to see Saithong resort is closed and in bad condition. The last time we stayed there was in 2018 for 3 weeks, every day we walked to town along the path near the see in about half an hour. The first time we stayed there was in 2003. We have been there about 5 times. We loved it there very much. In 2020 we planned to stay there again (but COVID) and now we are no longer able to go there. 😢 Thanks for your video.

I hope that they will be able to eventually fix it back up and reopen. The lockdowns killed off so many of the small businesses in Thailand and around the world. You at least have some great memories from your visits there.
      Thanks for watching.

I did some reading about Koh Tao before but we have changed our itinerary so hopefully we will visit this beautiful island in the future. I would love to stay on the “3rd” beach because it looks perfect. Did you say “Saithong Resort” which has gone out of business…unfortunately? I looked it up on my Thai travel book. Is Sai Nuan Beach in the southwest part of Koh Tao? How did you get there, walking or cycling?

You can get there by scooter. It’s a short walk from where you park to the beach, maybe 60-70 meters. That resort is closed up but we stayed maybe 1.5 km away at a small beach around the corner at PD resort. If you want to be on this part of the island we enjoyed our stay there. We had a sea view room with a breakfast for 1,000 Baht a night. It is on the SW part of the island and I believe that was the name of the place that went out of business. I read about it and it was a mom and pop hotel. It’s a shame because it is in a great location.
