    23:48 - WTF?" Music from Shrek franchise only made $14,970 in the past 12 months? I'd have thought it would be hundreds of thousands of dollars!
    This isn't even just one track, or even one film! EDIT: OH there's another listing valued at over $2.2 MILLION. Weird, i wonder why they split them up like this.
    If anyone sees this, as someone with a 3 year old, buying royalties like this could be well worth it for childrens films of all kinds. She will literally watch Frozen over and over every day for months, we even had it on two TV's at the same time. We jsut have something on during the day even, so not just Frozen. Those childrens youtube channels must be making a FUCK TON. Adult's don't usually rewatch the same video a thousand times, or just have it there in the background literally all day.

    You only need an LLC if you’re making over 10 bands off your music off streams and etc , doesn’t make sense to pay for an LLC if your music isn’t making past $100

    • @MusicMoneyMakeover
      @MusicMoneyMakeover  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Not necessarily. Everything in this business is predicated on the "it depends factor"

      You gotta have llc if your investing in yourself for write offs and tracking expenses

      This the dumbest comment I’ve seen pertaining to music business .
      Why wouldn’t you want to separate your income from YOU personally if it means as a way to not only be considered legit (if you’re wanted to take out a loan while having proof that you make income) but also as proper way for tax advantages in case your start out of nowhere bring in $100,000k+ a year

      How many rappers and singers are getting bank loans in this independent game realistically ? Why have all the expenses of an LLC and all these other things if you’re not in the business owner tax bracket

    • @Crazysteve0017
      @Crazysteve0017 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Focus on marketing and sync placements first and get your money up and run the shows up then the LLC comes later , to start off with an LLC that isn’t generating real money is an insane business practice

    One Song is like a Line of Pure Cocaine,If it has all the right ingredients, Rawness,Authenticity , Relatable to become a HIT! The Artist will experience a HIGH..he or she has never Experienced in they Life! Now if u break that Line of Cocaine Down in to just enough pieces and get them pieces to just the right players,Boyyy u talkn bout experiencing a ULTRA HIGH LIKE NO OTHER!...MAJORS Know this ...that’s why they Call it a HIT, and that’s just 1 Song..imagine if you had a entire Catalogue of Hits!👀....Music Artist don’t even understand the game they playing in...Yet they give there PUBLISHING away for pennies on a dollar..smh 😏

    So…. it would be wise to purchase the rights to a song that has great potential, but was not pushed properly. It would be even smarter to go back into older catalogued songs, to capitalize on even more marketable, little known music with great potential. 🤔

  • @SkyGlizzyRecords
    @SkyGlizzyRecords 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thats not how I valuate my music. I just just use emphasis on each track completed and worth 1k dollars as a finished track starting out its overall worth is about 1k per song even if its before the valuation period

    • @SkyGlizzyRecords
      @SkyGlizzyRecords 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So I have 777 songs in me catalog. I own 100% royalties on my entire catalog. So 777 x 1000 each is 777,000 dollars catalogs value.. Built my catalog in a 10 year span.

    • @MusicMoneyMakeover
      @MusicMoneyMakeover  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I take it you're a producer. So therefore at $1k per track thats your sale price for the master rights. However for an investor to give you $777k for a catalog of that size they'd have to know that there is a demand for what you create in the marketplace. Without any demand for you product how can an investor invest in your catalog. What you're essentially telling them to do is invest in the potential that your tracks will sell. Question is who's going to do the selling you or the investor? Chances are it will be the investor because you essentially sold them your master rights. You see what I'm saying?
      The only way for the investor to make their money back is to do the hard work for you and that's not going to fly with people with deep pockets looking to make a return on their investment.

      @@MusicMoneyMakeover I'm a rapper/producer. I was hoping to sell 10% of my entire royalties catalog for 70k. Just got to find a good investor. My music pretty fya so that brings the value up more too. That's y every track starting out worth 1k from me. Not sure what other people's songs r worth starting out. I only been getting them on distributor for last 7 months.

    Hey Mr. Graham, if I was a cowriter on a song and the artist did not have a publisher but I have an LLC. Do I register the copyright on copyright.gov and include both of us as authors. Then use their writers account IPI # and mine to register us as cowriters on the song through my selected PRO? Is there anything else I would need to do in order to properly administer the copyright?
