This is my 3rd time of listening to this extremely beautiful rendition of Vincent.. and I still could not held back my tears towards the end... I have heard the original songs for countless times, but I never cried.. I was just so touched by it..
Teresa delivered this song almost perfectly with her compassion, and without any "singing skill" show-off. It's like going through Van Gogh's life story with her - my eyes were literally filled with tears after hearing the song. The audience probably didn't get the lyrics on the spot as they are in English, but it is certainly a song that you can listen to repeatedly and still get something different every time around.
Don Mclean should very proud of Teresa that she sang so touching and moving. I understand every single word , she performs so clearly and so perfectly. I wonder that did people know what is Vincent mean, he is Van Gogh, his first name is Vincent, Don Mclean wrote above him, every line of lyrics is about his painting, at the end he kills himself because his sanity.
When I saw the show and Theresa perform this song, I had never heard it before, but in the first refrain i already understood that it has to be about Van Gogh and really, she did so greatly. She painted all the feelings I have towards this man so beautifully in her music, I bawled my eyes it. And still do.

I've heard Teresa's 70 album covering this song but her emotions are much richer here. Many sang this song in Hong Kong in the 70 & 80s but I was a kid then and found it boring. Now I've grown and can understand the beauty of the lyrics. Memories, memories.
Such a beautiful and poignant rendition of this very sad song. It's a shame that Ms. Carpio was eliminated so early in The Singer 2017 contest because she has such a lovely voice and she brought gravitas to the competition.
