I'm writing this comment for a couple of reasons. 1. I'm homesick. 2. Ms Carpio is one of the best singers in HK. If she is to shine internationally, she needs the best of assistance and support from her entourage. Unfortunately, on the basis of her rendition of my favourite song here, she does not seem to be getting it.
So, pardon me for being audacious. Just two points, if I may. 1. Yesterday when I was young, many ....WERE (not ARE) waiting to be sung. 2. .... ALAS (a sigh, an interjection showing regret), not (AT LAST), an adverbial phrase that makes no sense in the context.
Best wishes from a 老而不 who means well.
She also forgot the word ‘dazzled’eyes but she has good voice and version
她沒有唱錯這句 ‘I always built, alas, on weak and shifting sand.’ 是字幕打錯，因為 ‘built, alas’是連音字被聽成 ‘to last’。
