I love the max tier Nordhagen Beach in the Sim Settlements Rise of the Commonwealth mod. It is a very good looking, fortified harbour with ships and boats on the docks.
Here’s my thing (or things really) about Bethesda game shops. They are so empty! I doesn’t matter how much you decorate them (mods or not), who the vendors/shopkeepers are, or if any other NPCs are roaming about cleaning & such. The shops are empty. They have no activity outside of the player’s character, the vendor/shopkeeper, & any NPCs who are programed to “be active” within the shop. For example, in Skyrim there are 2 shops where there are 2 NPCs that are inside them - Belethor’s shop where he & Sidgir work, & then there is Warmaiden’s where Adriane & her husband work. But if it were only 1 person (which really is the case for Belethor’s shop) then that would be the only NPC there, & there would be no other activity from anyone expect the player character. No other NPCs enter these stores, & therefore they appear empty & inactive. In short, I hope that the next Elder Scrolls & Fallout shops/stores/markets become more active. We need more people to come in & out of these shops. Make the goods stores like grocery stores. Maybe even have specific days where those stores are super busy & others where they aren’t. Have some NPCs looking for certain items, some examining/trying out some items (food, clothes, armor…), & even have a few shopkeepers/vendors who take care of the NPCs like cashiers at real life stores. And maybe have 1 that is always ready for the player character when they have all need. And to take this idea a step further, have the player character go into a “shopping mode” where when they select an item it won’t be seen as stealing - unless they try to leave the store & the guards/security could be called on them. If this wouldn’t quite work out the same way I understand. Keeping the idea of a menu open would still workout, that way the player could easily pick up what they wanted verses having to walk around & select something. But I believe that the little things such as being able to walk around a shop/market place/store, & being able to select items & then pay for them by the counter would be cool. Another thing I think about is how the economy (or money/gold/caps…) work in these games. The only character who really does the buying & selling of goods is the player character. The NPCs will spawn in with a certain amount of their gold/money, & the player character will be the only 1 who changes how much they have left. For example, if Belethor has 1100 gold, and the player character buys 2 Weak Poisons for 248 gold (124 gold each), Bread for 5 gold, & an Iron Sword for 40 gold Belethor will only have 807 gold left. Now if the player character has Dragonbone Armor of Health for 4500 (will say for example’s sake) & they want to sell it Belethor, they can’t. He only has 807 gold. Where would he get the rest of the 3693 gold he needs in order to at least be able to buy the enchanted armor? From no where & from no because no 1 else shops at the store. Plus he already has a set amount of gold whenever his shop restocks. In the next Elder Scrolls & Fallout games (& any other OW RPG) there should be more options for the economy of the shopkeepers & vendors. Depending on how many NPCs fill their stores, the shopkeepers & vendors could have a lot of gold/caps or very little. And in combining these 2 things - more NPC activity in the stores, & more economy options for the shopkeepers & vendors - there will be more immersion in these open world games.
@@blackwaltz3135 you’re able to scrap some things that you have to interact with. Like how I mentioned the Ronnie Shaw quest, I scrapped the blast door and I could no longer open it. Granted, that was stupid of me, but be wary if you use that mod
I use settlement attacks beyond. It still doesn't stop them from spawning inside if you fast travel in from far away but it makes walls more useful. Plus, who cares if the game engine acknowledges it? In a violent post apocalyptic society walls would be needed. Immersion uber alles.
I failed to protect the family of three that was based there and haven't had the heart to rebuild it...I made a hill of supermutant corpses in memory though, as macabre as that sounds
I saw an interesting bit of secondhand info on Bethesdas E3 presentation. Someone said that one of the items will make you "Fall out of your chair with surprise." eh? eh? FALL OUT of you chair? Fingers crossed that there will be some news on a new fallout game . ( Expectant heavy breathing)
I got the Stingray using spring cleaning (nexus version, i think bethesda version works too) and place anywhere. Just pressed INS and F5 to get more objects and leave settlement área. Even got the Flying Saucer and put it over Graygarden (with some work moving it little by little not to bug the object).
Using console commands, clicking on the wires and use disable, if the wire do not disapear use enable, use the rolling button of your mouse (pointing to the wire) and try disabling again. When the wire evapores just use markfordelete then those pesky wires will note come back again ever.
I LOVE building on Nordhagen after first watching this video...because I didn't know what to do with it. Once you mentioned "boardwalk," I pictured a beach resort with shops, a hotel, and yes, a boardwalk for those shops! Thanks for the ideas/inspiration
Yeh, just call it "the Bent Pole". then it's a talking point.. like, is the name of the pub because it used to be owned by a gay Polish person? Or is it because the Polish guy was always swindling people? Ahhh, the english language. It's so ver' ver'... er... crap?
I REALLY ENJOY WATCHING THESE OLD FALLOUT 4 BUILD VIDEOS. I BASICALLY ROTATE THEM. I RESTART THE GAME OVER AND OVER TO TRY THE DIFFERENT BUILD IDEAS YOU PROVIDE.
Oxhorn, why not put a few nets and sails on that telephone pole making it look like a ships main mast? Give it a little nautical theme and call it the Ships Mast Pub?
I know these vids dont do as well as lore vids and stuff but I really do like these man thanks for taking time in your production schedule to make these
Fun fact about the bottle lights: Diapers from old folks homes are considered hazardous waste because the, ahem, waste... Is sometimes radioactive. So I guess the bottles could be filled with both waste and nuclear waste (as the children of atom would be a bit more radioactive than our old folks.
Oxhorn did you remember that you can use console commands to get yourself in freecamera and find the ref and base ID of the powerline and disable it from the settlement?
@@mohammadrezapahlavi4578 no what i meant was that he could go go into free camera and select it through the console and using that clicked reference ID he can type "disable" and it will make the powerline dissapear BUT the powerline still acts as if it's there. It has no collision so it's basically just a texture. you only disable the texture not the way it functions. the base id is a last resort as you can disable it and re-enable it to reset the properties of how it works and then cull the textures with the disable command as usual.
I absolutely love this video. The fantastic detail you've given this settlement, the story, everything. Its just so great. I love your videos so much. You get me thru the days when I'm too blah to play it myself. Thank you for that too.
Oxhorn, this is amazing. I really hope the next fallout game has a settlement system that was made for your incredible build sense. I don't normally use other ppls settlements, I usually just import my own across different characters but this is truly inspiring. I hope studying your work will really enhance my own building talent. I thought I was really coming along after all these years but this shows me I haven't even scratched the surface. Thank you so very much for this video. It's a fantastic settlement and it was the first settlement I actually began building before joining the minutemen so I'm looking forward to showing that with this build.
I love how you put the artillery and the watchtower close enough together so that the watchman could serve as an artillery observer and yell the bearings down
this is one of the things I don't get in fallout 4 how are these guys still alive they're between a big raider camp and super mutant camp filled with mini nukes
Groups like raiders demand tribute in exchange for being left alone that’s why they joined the minutemen super mutants probably do the same after all we know they will kidnap and ransom people.
Normally I don't watch or care about other people's communities, but you sir have changed this. You have my sincere appreciation, great job and I will be copying certain aspects as I can for my personal design for nordhagen. Again thanks for the vid!!
The wires can be either 'markfordelete'ed, or disabled in the console. Just make sure you've got the proper pieces (there are several segments) selected by using your movement program to move them a bit before you get rid of them.
I really liked your LA Noire Video however i now have to play LA Noire inside and out like i have with fallout so if you continue the series i will be ready!
James Peach listen here you little shit. Episode 1 was horrible 2 and 3 were funny and good direct your attention to Reddit and search r/Prequelmemes and laugh your ass off. And last jedi was the best of the sequel trilogy. And finally Rogue One was not that bad at all i pat Disney on the back for that movie.
Nice! My first thought was something I see another commenter already mentioned and that is naming the Bar/Pub after the bent pole or maybe leaning pole pub. Also, I can envision those high steel pole/girders supporting the defense tower and power being some that the residents went and scavenged off the destroyed airship. They probably get great pride from seeing them and almost consider them a monument to the settlement.
Ox, you're the reason I started building settlements, and started taking the roll as a minuteman seriously. As I see it, you are the one true general. Keep up the great work.
When I quit playing fallout 4, there is always something that pulls me back. I love the atmosphere and the feel of the game. I'll probably do a playthrough before the next bethesda game.
Oxhorn: I didn't use any special mods, just the Fallout 4 DLC. Also Oxhorn: I used these special mods to place these things outside the build area and to decorate the shop displays.
Hey Oxhorn. If you want to get rid of something that is in the way you don't need mods. Open console and then select the item with your mouse (left-click on it) then type in "disable" and hit Enter. If you missed with the click as is easy to do just type "enable" and hit Enter to bring it back. There are obviously a few issues if you're not careful but it helps tidy up stubborn things you can't remove any other way.
I think it looks pretty awesome! I'm currently remodeling many of my settlements, though I am opting mostly for vault-tec parts. I just love that building set. it looks so sci-fi, futuristic. I figure since I am doing an Institute playthrough where I roleplay that the Institute is actually helping the Commonwealth with some tech, it only makes sense to add in some of the nicer options provided by the vaults. I wish there was an institute building set that let you copy some of the things found there.
I downloaded and visited this settlement, and it’s absolutely amazing. It was a little strange to see the large sign about the Brotherhood being destroyed though, since on my character, I sided with them to blow up the Institute lol
Great video Oxhorn, loved watching all 48 minutes. Just one thing, I think you keep saying Wet Bar when you mean Dry Bar. It's not wet unless it has a sink. Cheers buddy, great work!
LOL VISION would work more than EYES haha I love the cable the can chop your head off upstairs too. This settlement looks great though, and that's a pretty cool idea to make a boardwalk. Like Coney Island!
Oxhorn, I love your build videos. I really like that you take your time to plan each build, and create a backstory/reason why things are they way they are. Always a pleasure to watch! What has been your favorite build and why, and which settlement have you rebuilt (perhaps multiple times) until you were (maybe) happy with it?
I tend to militarize my settlements in certain locations. Nordhagen Beach (to keep an eye on the brotherhood), Outpost Zimonja (as the northern comms station), Hangman’s Alley (for power projection into Boston and Diamond City), and Taffington Boathouse (to project influence over the Charles River)
15:48 To fix the wire: open console, select it w/ cursor, type "setpos z 10". That will move to below the ground. On some objects you can also delete by entering these 2 commands instead: "disable" then "markfordelete". Save before in case you select the wrong item.
This is almost completely unrelated but my Nordhagen Beach is a raider outpost but for some reason I’m apparently not allied to the settlement, I have thought about killing them but am worried that would turn everyone against me. Before you say I can save and reload if everyone turns against me, I know this, but I’m not home for a couple of days and I thought I would ask to see if you could save me the trouble by commenting another solution which does not involve me killing everyone there UPDATE: Don’t bother suggesting anything, whenever I get near the settlement the game instantly crashes. No way to get there. UPDATE: I did it! I managed to get to to place without it crashing, it was an epic battle, as a lot of the Operators there had gatling lasers and three even had full sets of Marine Combat Armor! And there were a lot of missile turrets, most were down but some still worked, it took a lot of Stimpaks and chems, but I managed, I killed every single one of them and was able to reclaim the settlement, I then went back to Shank and recaptured it as an outpost and it worked, but it’s littered with dead bodies.
The wires referred to at 16:10 mark can be removed without mods. I found that if you pop open the console and click on them with the mouse (may take some clicking around) you'll get a reference ID appear. At this point just use the "disable" command. Done and done!
Hi Oxhorn! Thanks for making great videos for me and your subscribers to view and enjoy! Your videos are great for multitasking and waiting for time to pass by :D Have a great day, George
If i remember correctly, those vault tec items are actually 4 items (one for each effect and the basic one if you don't do the quest) with the quest just deciding which one shows up in your menu, so people should be getting your soda fountain not matter what they chose in the quest (or even if they done it), i'll have to test that at some point.
I REALLY like how mines came out as far as ideas goes but yours.....this..is all...absolutely...AMAZING!:O and same!I didn't want to take away, seal off or obstruct the view of the beach and make it feel all contained and restricted and urgh...I wanted to create something that keeps the openess of the beach but I wanted to create a type of fortification to protect them but didn't want it to all come out as just stacking things on things or compiling but balance it all out and....I did actually managed to do just that but yours.....this is...AMAZING O_O i even made a little shack which i wanted to feel like its not only part of the game but just this shack out in the shore possibly washed down containing a few arcade cabinets bit runned down adding more to the story.Shame can;t use the board walk though...hm...ah well.lol.
I use this settlement to set up a minuteman coast guard station that really serves as a place to spy on the brotherhood of steel. I set up a large building that serves as the barracks and all that for everyone, then a building for storage and a bunker like building with a vertibird landing pad on the roof for the coast guard vertibird along with some docks. The rest of the settlement is walled in and used for farming.
hey Ox, you should check out the skooled zone. Paul does a great job of manipulating the vinilla game including some tricks to remove wires that pass through walls or get in the way. Just the FYI all his work is without any mods just to use what came in the game to make his settlements. you should collaborate on some things together.
I set up Nordhagen Beach as a power armor farm - as soon as I opened hostilities with the BoS, I fortified Nordhagen Beach and ambushed BoS vertibirds, captured armor parts and then used the purified water the settlement generated to buy power armor frames. When the BoS retaliated and attacked the Castle, the were facing me, Preston and 24 minute men in T-60f power armor all armed with miniguns and gatling lasers. Ronnie Shaw even had a minigun with the 'wounding' legendary effect on it. We tore through them like they were....as Doctor Zero would say, "Cheese paper".

I use "scrap everything" mod to get rid of things in settlements that I no longer wish to keep around.
WARNING: THIS CAN BREAK QUESTS. (Ronnie Shaw for example)
@@kiwirain1235 how?
@@blackwaltz3135 you’re able to scrap some things that you have to interact with. Like how I mentioned the Ronnie Shaw quest, I scrapped the blast door and I could no longer open it. Granted, that was stupid of me, but be wary if you use that mod
@@kiwirain1235 ahh ok, that makes sense. Yeah those kinds of things made me weary of using that mod
You always inspire my builds and this time, even more so than before. My entrance sign will read “Welcome to Nordhagen beach A.K.A. Dead Zeplin”
I use settlement attacks beyond. It still doesn't stop them from spawning inside if you fast travel in from far away but it makes walls more useful. Plus, who cares if the game engine acknowledges it? In a violent post apocalyptic society walls would be needed. Immersion uber alles.
Haha.! "Stop interrupting me!" Awesome settlement dude!
I failed to protect the family of three that was based there and haven't had the heart to rebuild it...I made a hill of supermutant corpses in memory though, as macabre as that sounds
"there's not much here at the settlement when you start..."
turns away from the GIANT BLAZE OF FIRE FROM THE AIR PORT
Oh! I do do like the main structure! All those balconies make it look like a holiday resort. I'm inspired! :D
HOOPSHOT? Use the Junk gun thing!! Maximum scores :D
Isn't there suppose to be a new Elder Scrolls before the next New Fallout?
Kaden Goldman if there is i want them to add a couple extra places and loads more jokes! But if they don't that's fine aswell
You called it
I got the Stingray using spring cleaning (nexus version, i think bethesda version works too) and place anywhere.
You should have called it pub bent pole
Yeh, just call it "the Bent Pole". then it's a talking point.. like, is the name of the pub because it used to be owned by a gay Polish person? Or is it because the Polish guy was always swindling people?
Ahhh, the english language. It's so ver' ver'... er... crap?
Bent Pole Pub
I REALLY ENJOY WATCHING THESE OLD FALLOUT 4 BUILD VIDEOS. I BASICALLY ROTATE THEM. I RESTART THE GAME OVER AND OVER TO TRY THE DIFFERENT BUILD IDEAS YOU PROVIDE.
Oxhorn, why not put a few nets and sails on that telephone pole making it look like a ships main mast? Give it a little nautical theme and call it the Ships Mast Pub?
I can't get enough of your videos Oxhorn. Everytime, it pulls me back to Fallout
0:58 GOD DAMMIT PRESTON! I see you shuffling at the back! I JUST GOT BACK!
inkblotCrisis, i hate him.. haha
I know these vids dont do as well as lore vids and stuff but I really do like these man thanks for taking time in your production schedule to make these
Man, your content is so cool! Your so cool! Everything you do is cool!
you a kid?
well, if he kills someone the body would certainly be cool after a while....
Those 5 min lore + 40 min built guide Videos are horrible
you're so cool, not your cool, your is expression of possession, not short of you are .
Aerbunny he also brought back-up. (guys, where are you?) Oh, me? No i'm not back-up i'm just the guy that gets the back-up
Fun fact about the bottle lights: Diapers from old folks homes are considered hazardous waste because the, ahem, waste... Is sometimes radioactive. So I guess the bottles could be filled with both waste and nuclear waste (as the children of atom would be a bit more radioactive than our old folks.
Ox, one of your turrets isn't powered. The one right beside the beginning of the stairs.
Can't believe you're still doing Fallout after all these years...keep it up Ox!
Oxhorn did you remember that you can use console commands to get yourself in freecamera and find the ref and base ID of the powerline and disable it from the settlement?
I think it's a static, uninteractable object, so wouldn't that mean you can't disable its AI?
25:14 I don't think that's how you play that game
James Stewart you’re not wrong
got thrown out if dnb for playing like that
wait what is he doing wrong
they are supposed to be rolled, but you can't actually do that in fallout
Brent Steffen yeah
Oxhorn, this is amazing. I really hope the next fallout game has a settlement system that was made for your incredible build sense. I don't normally use other ppls settlements, I usually just import my own across different characters but this is truly inspiring. I hope studying your work will really enhance my own building talent. I thought I was really coming along after all these years but this shows me I haven't even scratched the surface. Thank you so very much for this video. It's a fantastic settlement and it was the first settlement I actually began building before joining the minutemen so I'm looking forward to showing that with this build.
Need to add three more barbers to the barbershop so you can have a barbershop quartet. ~grin~
I love how you put the artillery and the watchtower close enough together so that the watchman could serve as an artillery observer and yell the bearings down
That surgeon has the tree saw cause you know there are some stubborn limbs
Carter Alistair yes
just now got caught up with all your videos. took me months. but here I am!
this is one of the things I don't get in fallout 4 how are these guys still alive they're between a big raider camp and super mutant camp filled with mini nukes
Groups like raiders demand tribute in exchange for being left alone that’s why they joined the minutemen super mutants probably do the same after all we know they will kidnap and ransom people.
Ox, those two areas down stairs in the sleeping quarters, where people can relax are called, common areas.
Oxhorn giving the children of nordhagen beach iguana on a stick knowing full well what it’s made of.
IRL what is it made of?
I NEVA FREEZE It is very likely human flesh
@@isaaclarson4587 "The flesh of a small lizard, which has been baked." Right from the fallout 4 wiki, nothing to do with human flesh
DarkChibimon watch oxhorns lore video about iguana bits he will explain it.
Normally I don't watch or care about other people's communities, but you sir have changed this. You have my sincere appreciation, great job and I will be copying certain aspects as I can for my personal design for nordhagen. Again thanks for the vid!!
What happened to LA Noir? I was enjoying the nostalgia.
He said at the end of the video, he’d might do it weekly depending on the response.
10-4, hadn't made it to the end yet.
I am all for LA Noir!!
kahrnivor I really want him to do it every other day or every three days
You f*** young boys Valdez?
The wires can be either 'markfordelete'ed, or disabled in the console. Just make sure you've got the proper pieces (there are several segments) selected by using your movement program to move them a bit before you get rid of them.
I really liked your LA Noire Video however i now have to play LA Noire inside and out like i have with fallout so if you continue the series i will be ready!
George Lucas episode 1 through 3 sucked. Fuck you and fuck you for selling star wars to Disney.
Uh you called one of the travelling traders Lucas Simms, that's the sherrif of megaton
Ox, i hope you keep these videos up, i enjoy the videos of your old settlement builds and the mods you used to create them
We need a general Dave immersion check.
Thank you,you are one of the only youtubers that still plays Fallout 4 THANK YOU
Why have the purifier in the water when you could use the one from wasteland workshop that goes on the ground and place it in the corner.
the purifier gives more water than the mechanical pump
Ox, you're the reason I started building settlements, and started taking the roll as a minuteman seriously. As I see it, you are the one true general. Keep up the great work.
Isn't Lucas Simms the mayor of Megaton in Fallout 3?
Lora Elstad oh, yeah probably.
When I quit playing fallout 4, there is always something that pulls me back. I love the atmosphere and the feel of the game. I'll probably do a playthrough before the next bethesda game.
Heck, never done it but..
Fourth!
NCR Trooper your first!
NCR Trooper jep, yout the First ;)
You a kid?
Yes, in fact I am, do you have a problem with that?
NCR Trooper If you are a kid then what the fuck are you doing in the NCR military?
One of my favorites settlements you’ve build yet. Amazing Oxy !
Are you still going to make some La Noire video's?
Oxhorn: I didn't use any special mods, just the Fallout 4 DLC.
Also Oxhorn: I used these special mods to place these things outside the build area and to decorate the shop displays.
Lol so true
Never wire your defense in series 😀
Martin Prince777 or if the first one is shut off, the rest are useless
Watching you explore and play all the games is honestly adorable
Oxhorn where is L.A. Noire
Everytime I tell myself to stop building settlements, you upload these amazing vids and inspire me to build my own, thanks!
Thanks. You’ve finally given me some inspiration on what to do with this settlement!
I always have difficulty building a settlement here, for some reason. But you have built a creative and successful one. Great job, I like it.
JayChewinOnMetal 2 same
Great video Oxhorn, loved watching all 48 minutes.
"got iguana on a stick, crispy squirrel bits on a stick, that might be appetizing to some."

To fix the wire: open console, select it w/ cursor, type "setpos z 10". That will move to below the ground. On some objects you can also delete by entering these 2 commands instead: "disable" then "markfordelete". Save before in case you select the wrong item.
Love that only 1 tenth of the video is about the story of nordan hogen beach and the rest was his settlement you could tell he was proud
This is almost completely unrelated but my Nordhagen Beach is a raider outpost but for some reason I’m apparently not allied to the settlement, I have thought about killing them but am worried that would turn everyone against me. Before you say I can save and reload if everyone turns against me, I know this, but I’m not home for a couple of days and I thought I would ask to see if you could save me the trouble by commenting another solution which does not involve me killing everyone there
UPDATE: Don’t bother suggesting anything, whenever I get near the settlement the game instantly crashes.
The watchtower in the middle is awesome looking...and practical.
The wires referred to at 16:10 mark can be removed without mods. I found that if you pop open the console and click on them with the mouse (may take some clicking around) you'll get a reference ID appear. At this point just use the "disable" command. Done and done!
This is why i love fo4, it spawns so much creativity with the settlements
Hi Oxhorn! Thanks for making great videos for me and your subscribers to view and enjoy! Your videos are great for multitasking and waiting for time to pass by :D Have a great day, George
Oxfhorn 2 years later and you're still the reason I can't go to bed after work when I go home
The level of thought and work that went into this settlement. 😱 I have so many ideas now.
How you play ski ball cracks me up 😂 would love to see someone dunking ski balls in real life lol
No dock for boating or diving off of? Otherwise, if I had to live in Fallout....this would be a great place. Good job!
This gave me some great ideas for settlements I haven't built up yet.
I'm gonna use this as inspiration for my northagen beach
