thank you, glad the book was of interest. Still looking forward to seeing many more of the films, quite a lot of old Hammer films on the TV at the moment
I am fascinated by hand draw/painted movie promotional materials. I am old enough to remember that all movie posters were like this, prior to the use of computers. There were some amazing artists creating iconic works of art, which for that moment probably wasn’t consider ‘a piece of art’ but merely something for advert purposes.
Yes, a lot of amazing art was created for promotional / advertising purposes. Got many books filled with stunning art for all kinds of things such as wines etc (toulous lautrec posters come to mind). Love many of these amazing Hammer posters and the films are not too bad either.
Hello Andrew! Will you be reviewing Lost Worlds of George Metzger by Fantagraphics? I haven't stumbled across any reviews of it. Your channel is my go-to for books like these.
What a great looking book, the art of the Hammer posters is excellent . Glad you posted this .
Great review from you .

The fortune theatre where the woman in Black used to play in the west end is a great spooky building in London always reminded me of Hammer studios.
Never been there, know the place you mean though.
Wow! Great book. These old film posters were spectacular. I think the complete hammer feature filmography has 172 films since 1935 to present.
Wow, a lot of films to watch (as long as they are all available). I love those old film posters as well
