young locals look with envy, longing and dreaming to have what tourists have, knowing they cannot and live in poverty being paid $1-2 per day. This is not Bali, this is commercialism aimed at tourists using locals to make profits. Its sad really sad to see.
Oh no you should of seen the traffic later on it was terrible I was also later on eating at one of the restaurants on the other side of the road all you could hear was whistling and cars honking.
There are many modern malls in Bali, most have a wider choice than Icon Bali and at least three are bigger with Living World Mall for example, which only opened a few months ago, being more than double the floor size despite Icon Bali's nonsensical claim to be the biggest mall in South East Asia.
Is this the beginning of the end of Bali as everyone remembers it. Is this the move to the Americanisation of Sanur? I hope that the family businesses can survive this type of "Big Business"

Mixed feelings happy for the locals. Can’t see a lot of shopping bags 🤔I won’t be visiting too busy relaxing and visiting local shops ❤️
Thank you for your video
You're welcome🙂
I'm will come, see u soon Bali
Thanks for sharing mate, keep these updates coming
You're so welcome🙂
Hello Gary, great architecture and mall 4 lovers of shopping. Young people must love it! Thanks.
Yes it's a beautiful mall but so far off completion, i wish they would have waited before opening such a beautiful building.

and its not architecture, its a big cold concrete box building with shiny tiles, built with slave labour, nothing to be proud of.
Great VLOG Gary - looks nice
Congratulations...🎉🎉🎉🙏
Gary your vlog is by far the best one we have seen re this mall opening..you are so informative clear and professional...keep it up thank you.
Many thanks for your kind words🙂
Wow see u soon Bali ❤
thank u so much for showing me this...I love your content...I am going back there in September 😊
Many thanks, the mall is far from finished, i personally do not think it should be open, i hope it is finished when you return in september🙂
Great update Gary. Thanks. Hopefully traffic is more settled by i arrive in Sanur in Aug
Ìdy llic resort in sanur. This town doesn't need a shopping mall. Becouse I'm repeater. Ì love SANUR forever.

Very nice👍
Yes it's a beautiful mall🙂
Good to see the traffic was not too bad
Time will tell with the traffic🙂
Oh no you should of seen the traffic later on it was terrible I was also later on eating at one of the restaurants on the other side of the road all you could hear was whistling and cars honking.
@@Violet-Elizabeth yes i have recorded the street tonight down to sindhu the traffic has increased
The mall was huge and tad busy but it was great going to the opening
Yes will be fabulous when they complete the work
Realy is good...❤
Yes it's a beautiful design mall but still a long way from completion

Good coverage. Thank you.
Finally, Locals have a nice decent mall and don’t have to go to Jakarta or Singapore .
Yes indonesian love shopping😃

Excep that the location is a nonsense
Bali island looks awsome , great view Bali is the best place in australia island👍👍👍
I have such mixed emotions of this structure being in Sanur
Some will love it some will loath it but this is the new Bali now and a sign of future plans for the island.

For the local population it's a bad development..too expensive..for the local shops it's not positive.

Looks amazing, but I'll still use the art markets😊
Icon is a different kind of shopping experience to the art markets it's full of shops many people will be familiar with in their own countries🙂.
I went thru it a few days after opening…felt like an airport with high end shops, expensive food and a traffic jam out the front!
Yes it will be interesting to see how icon progresses in the next few months.
I'll pass. I don't go to Bali to shop I Western style shopping centres.
Your glasses r very nice. Where did u get it?

Soon in Bali desembr
Not long to go😃
I won't have to see it now 🤪🤪
It's a beautiful mall but it does not feel quite so special due to all the on-going work.
@@balibygary9718 yeah it's spoilt the opening, it's screaming we need to generate income
Im visiting Bali for the first time in November. This is what we intend on escaping, not going too. So different to how I picture Bali to be.

As usual not many free sitting places , I noted none facing the sea 🤷♂️🙄
Bali's neighboring Surabaya mall is much bigger... the mall in Surabaya has 5 tall buildings in 1 mall

Looks like used car yard from the street
the price land in sanur more expensive
Using Sanur as a location for such large Mall is idiotic at best due to the already suffocating infrastructure.
