    One difference is for dividend, retailers need to pay tax as per their tax slab.
    But in buyback, company has to pay tax and retailers no need to pay incase if they sold their shares part of buyback process

    In Australia, there is a concept called franking credits on dividends. If I receive 1$ as dividend, then which means company has paid 30% tax. So if my income is only dependent on dividend income then I get 42 cents as tax return. But the share price will only go down by 1$ in the ex dividend date.
    If I fall under 20 percent tax then I will get that 10 percent of 142 cents as a tax return and pay tax for 20 percent of 142 cents which is already paid by the company.
    If I fall under 37 percent tax bracket, then since the company has paid 30 percent, I have to pay extra 7 percent.

    Thanks Sir for sharing the knowledge.What if someone takes breaks from his daily job due to unavoidable circumstances? I know one must possess emergency funds to tackle this.Also,we all know many strong businesses gave dividends in recession time. As you said there is no harm in investing in dividend stocks though you have steady income stream!

      Investing in dividend stocks in fine. Just giving the "extra income" as reason is not convincing for me.

    I have a doubt about the buyback. Do companies buy back the shares (for the amount which they announced) on a single day? Or buy certain bits day by day?

    • @InvestmentInsightsTamil
      @InvestmentInsightsTamil  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They usually announce a plan on how they are planning on doing it. Usually they do it over certain period of time.

I am curious to know your views on impact of climate change & green stocks in share market - both US & India and want to know are there any green stock index like index funds in India which have huge potential to grow in background drop of regulatory push expected by governments for green energy in near future. Your views please and if possible suggest a dedicated video on the same...
